I've been an owner of Kitchen Aid appliances for a long time. I do a lot of cooking and hense put my appliances to the test. With the durability of my past Kitchen Aid appliances I decided to replace all my appliances with Kitchen Aid. This is just a review for the dishwasher as the other appliances also befall the same fate. My dish washer on average runs about 2 sometimes 3 or 4 times a day on weekends. Not average use but this is a Kitchen Aid right. After a little over 3 years problems started to arise. The first of which was the springs on the door went. Shortly after that the selection buttons had become so worn some fell off. Then the door would not close correctly and "popped" open from time to time when it was running. And recently it will no longer load water and now needs to be replaced. This after about 3 1/2 - 4 years of use this is not exactly the durabilty I expect from a Kitchen Aid or one this expensive.

This washer cleans well. Does have a long washing cycle but does a nice job. It does not come with a fitting to complete the hookup, instructions say to call in to purchase the part. This is stupid.

It is so quiet that I can't even hear it when it is running....

Good: It looks very sleek and is ultra quiet even without the sound barrier installed. Bad: Do not believe this marketing claim: "Hard-food disposer Makes prerinsing unnecessary. Self-cleaning filter provides added convenience." I did and now my dishes and dishwasher smell like garbage. So far it has been serviced 3 times. It still smells like garbage. Kitchenaid did not stand by its product. They denied my last service request even though I was still in warranty. They told me that bad odors is not covered in the warranty since legally the machine's purpose is not to make your dishes smell decent, it only is supposed to clean them. My question is how can the dishes be clean if they smell horrible after every wash?

We replaced a GE Profile with this dishwasher. It does a perfect job. The stainless steel exterior and interior give it a great look.

We bought this dishwasher to match our new KitchenAid refrigerator. We bought it June 2009 and on Feb 2010 we had to use the warrenty to replace the soap dispencer piece. Now we have to replace it again and they will kitchen Aid will not stand by there product and replace it for free! The plastic piece on the soap dispencer door is made so poorly. They really need to re-do it. I am so upset that a company that I have spent over $3,000 with will not stand by there product. I fear I will be having to replace this piece every year!!!!! Dont buy

Lower rack will not operate without falling off track and on top of sprayer head. Door must be forced to open or close postion. Left side of door very weak. Unable to tell from indicators if product is running or complete. NOT as quite as our old Maytag. UNFORTUNATE KA nows owns Maytag. This product is being returned to store and we'll find another brand.
