Wish the literature explained that you need to clean the metal bowl with two coats of olive oil and then wash with soap and water. I washed with soap and water and then mashed potatoes and ended up with “gray” potatoes. Contacted Kitchenaid and they explained the cleaning process to remove any residual residue from the polishing process.
