Nice OVEN, not toaster oven.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing draws so much power it trips the breaker if running at the same time as the coffee maker. REALLY? Takes up way too much real estate in the kitchen also. Would not buy again, sorry I got it. Best Buy only has a 2 week return policy so I'm screwed.

NICE TOASTER OVEN
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The KitchenAid Convection Toaster/Pizza Oven has a nice compact design. Bigger than I expected, so it takes up a bit of space on my countertop. There are limited controls on the front of the unit, but it has all the power and settings you need for this type of product. I was expecting more of a "pizza oven" with a stone-like interior, but this is more of a toaster oven. The unit works real well. Heats and bakes quickly. I like the fact that it is dual cooking, meaning it also has a convection-type of baking. Real nice for a tabletop unit! Big enough inside to handle the cooking of something for two people. It has various attachments to make your cooking experience more complete. I also like that it was easy clean, for the messes that always seem to happen when cooking. Its a very nice, compact unit that I highly recommend!

Great looks, loaded with features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This oven is very well built and has all the features that one can ask for in a counter top toaster/oven. In black matte, it looks very stylish on our counter top. From design and quality perspective, it checks all the boxes and meets the KitchenAid quality standards. The best part about the design is that they have moved all the controls to the bottom (instead of side) which gives additional wide rack space. As we are a small family of 3, it meets all our baking needs and my wife says that she probably will never use our regular oven after this one :) It comes with a baking pan, broiling rack, crumb tray and temperature probe. There is a LCD screen with 12 preset settings, a selection dial and 6 plain function buttons in the lower left corner of the oven. The temperature can be set between 150 and 450 degree and maximum available cook time is 2 hours. The 1800 watts of power are good enough for all your day-to-day toasting, baking or roasting needs. It cooks/toasts the food pretty evenly. The interior is no-stick thus easy to clean and there is also an interior light. It also has a keep-warm function which we really like. Overall, this is great toaster/oven with great build quality and design and is loaded with features. We really love it.

Haven't used my traditional oven since...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I won't be going into a bunch of specs and nonsense about settings and that sort of thing, though I may mention something briefly to convey a particular point or drill something home. There are countless other reviews that regurgitate the specs tab back at you and use all the fancy names the brands like to fill their manuals with. That is fine and all, but it gives me no feeling for a product nor does it let me know how it is to interact with. So, if you want that sort of thing, read the specs tab for the item, or read any number of other reviews. With that out of the way... Not really being much of a toaster using household, I was more looking at this as being a solid all-in-one alternative to stand alone convention oven. If the mood so struck that we wanted to do something else, this would provide multiple options allowing us to get rid of a couple other things on the counter-top. Let's just say it's more than lived up to what I had hoped. Not only has is become our main pizza oven (also have a decent, not fancy, but decent stand alone baking stone pizza oven) but the KitchenAid simply does a better job, quicker, with less of a hassle. And you can pretty much apply that same process with anything you throw at it. I had family in town who have toast every. single. morning. Where our older 2-slice toaster was in heavy use for a solid hour each day, the KitchenAid was able to knock out 6-slices at a time with ease. The controls allow for perfect output as far as how crisp/toasted you want, and the evenflow heating does just that; even preparedness of not only simple toast slices, but anything else we've put in it. From pizza, to grilled chicken, tuna melts, etc etc etc -- this thing has made us all but forget about our traditional oven. It uses significantly less power, and while it doesn't have the same volume for larger dishes to make us REALLY not need the aforementioned traditional oven, it heats up so quickly and does the actual cooking in such a manner, that if I could get my hands on a larger version of this thing I would replace our oven tomorrow with one. So, the one bit I will go into; the interface/design This thing has a super simple, very clean layout. When off, everything blacks out. Aside from some small (but legible) buttons, and the lone knob, there isn't much going on. Power it up and labels illuminate, the screen displays your settings, and that's about it. Again -- Super. Simple. Turn the knob or push the function button, push the knob to select, turn to adjust temp/toast/slice settings, etc etc etc, very simple and intuitive. I can't recommend this thing enough. Not often that I give out 5-star reviews as there tends to always be one or two things I can't get over that cause me to detract that final star. But, aside from this thing not being larger (it's plenty big, I'm splitting hairs) I can't think of a single issue in the month since we got it.

Trying to love it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been wanting another toaster oven since mine went bad a few years ago. It looks ok and pretty simple upon first glance. Being matte black it blends into my kitchen well. The chrome handle looks nice and shiny but it does gather fingerprints very easily. The controls are all in one location and well labeled so that is nice. Kitchenaid made an overall nice looking unit that appears to be well made. It does come with a temperature probe though from what I can tell the oven is supposed to know it and stop at whatever temp you specify so I have not used it yet. It would be better if there was a way to know what the current temp of an item is. The instruction book is very simple and basic which I think is a downfall. It would have been better if it gave you more information. It only holds a 9x13 pan if it does not have handles like most pyrex have. There are 3 different height options for the shelf. I tried to bake something simple like a small pan of brownies and the bottom stayed liquidy while the top cooked well so that was a disappointment. Pork Chops baked well in it. The first batch of cookies I tried on the cookie setting and where they recommended putting the shelf....this resulted in cookies that were very dark on top but fine on the bottom. I then tried just baking them on the bake setting and moving the shelf down which resulted in a better finished product. I use the included pan and am able to make 6 at a time which is great for 2 people. Toast seems to do pretty good in it once you figure out your preference and where the rack should be placed. frozen waffles do well to with the same adjustments. I am new to the convection world so that may have some impact on my results, hence where a bit more information in the manual would help! I do like that it does not heat up the kitchen like a traditional oven does! It is very quiet while running in any mode. Another thing is it goes from preheat to counting down the time immediately. The ding that is does is so quiet that I don't hear it most of the time and have to reset the time after putting in my food. The alert is a little louder when the time is up plus it shuts off so that helps but I wish the volume could be changed. I am sure as I get more familiar with how it works things well get better. I am happy I don't have to use the big oven when there is only two of us for dinner. Yet I think I will love having it come the holidays when I never have enough room in the regular oven. So overall I like the unit and am hopeful in time I will love it.

Not that 90's Toaster Oven
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having not owned a toaster oven since the early 90's, I was genuinely impressed by the KitchenAid Convection Toaster/Pizza Oven. Contrasting greatly with my memories of a plain stainless steel box used in break and dorm rooms to make grilled cheese and pizza, this counter-top appliance is a bit of a showpiece. Sturdy and well constructed, with classic lines but a modern design, this matte black/chrome/glass gadget is both attractive and eye-catching. It’s also a great addition to the suite of available KitchenAid appliances. I was surprised by how large the unit appeared once I located it to my kitchen counter. Measuring 16.4x18.5x13 inches it is spacious enough on the inside to accommodate a 12inch pizza, several Cornish hens, or a cookie sheet of appetizers (all separately of course). It comes ready to use, requires almost no assembly, and even has quick start instructions printed on the inside flap of the box. Included are all the things you need to jump right in and cook- a baking pan, broiling rack, oven rack, crumb tray and a temperature probe. An LCD screen with 12 preset settings, a selection dial, and 6 plain function buttons adorn the lower left of the oven. Surprisingly quiet dual convection fans inside the unit reduce your cooking time and cook food more evenly than a standard oven. 1800 watts of power allow you to bake, toast, roast, or just reheat food and there is even a keep warm function. Oven temperatures can be set between 150-450 degrees Fahrenheit and max cook time is 2 hours. The interior of the oven is non-stick, easy to wipe clean, and there is also an interior light. So far I’ve used this oven to bake cookies and a pizza, roast Cornish hens, heat up some leftover fried chicken, and to bake some potpies. All of the food turned out well-at times a bit crisper or browner than I usually prefer, but with trial and error I will be able to tailor the settings to my liking. I look forward to using this oven in the summer months so that I won’t have to heat up my entire house. I’m considering this Toaster/Pizza Oven my favorite purchase of the new year and look forward to learning just what else it can do.

Great second oven
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the box is the convention oven with instruction booklet, one oven sized rack, a drip pan (that is placed at the bottom of the oven), a broiling pan and broiling rack, and a meat probe. Currently, I own a older model oven, that I am prefer not to update because it works fine and now I have more of a reason not to because this convection oven is a perfect addition to my existing oven. The convection oven is a large but it does fit on my counter top with space all around. I am able to bake cookies, and bake chicken in the convection oven and the temperature will be correct every time and the oven will turn off with the timer. No worries about overheating or overcooking from my older oven. The convection oven is also big enough to fit a small to medium sized turkey for Thanksgiving, great for baking (breads), and super easy clean up. Something new with the convection oven that I have not had before is the temperature probing and the bread proofing. The bread proofing setting cut the proofing down by almost an hour, which great! The probing, allowed me to keep an eye on my steak! On the front of the oven are all of the pre-settings and so far my favorites (what I use the most) are toast and cookies. I press the circle button, turn the knob to toast, select how dark I want my toast and press start. For the cookies, beware, the oven will preheat to get back to the 375 and then the timer will start at 10 minutes. You will want to place your cookies in when the timer starts. My kids currently use the pizza setting and say that it works great. Right now, I have been using the included broiling pan and rack, which has been really easy to clean, but it is also really small. The only other pans that I have used so far are bread baking pan as well. The only con that I could find is the timer alarm is too quiet. If you are using more than one kitchen product or you leave the room, you may not be able to hear the oven. Would I recommend this product to friends and family?? Absolutely!

Very nice and sleek
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the fact that this toaster over/ convection oven is: Big Sleek design Looks nice in the kitchen Is black and not stainless steel like some of the other ones I’ve had The biggest part that I love about this is the black bake pan! My children are known for always staining these pans and now I don’t have to worry as much because you can’t tell!!! Everything we have tried to bake and toast has come out wonderfully. My only con about this item would be to many function buttons- to get what you want—you have to tech-friendly to work this or get used to it. My 70 year old mother couldn’t figure out how to turn it on.

Great Toaster Oven with Convection Feature
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I used to use a wolfgang puck toaster oven for the longest time. My biggest gripe with that one was that it would start to steam because it was half pressure cooker, but even without that feature on, steam would escape and warp cabinets. This toaster oven removes that problem and is a great addition to my kitchen. The convection feature is great, I recommend using it when you want to get a nice crisp on whatever it is you are baking, albeit: fries, biscuits, crispy chicken, pizza, etc. This unit has a few built in presets which makes baking easy, you can also toast bread in here and program it to how many slices and even the shade of color you want your bread. I have tested this and it seems to be very accurate to the shade that it represents. This thing also heats up quite fast, I would say you could preheat to 450 within 8 minutes, lower temperatures are quicker. I have not been able to make a roast or anything yet in it, but it does come with a built in thermometer that you would place into the meat and then plug the probe inside the oven and the oven will automatically shut off once the desired internal temperature of your meat is achieved. This is almost making my full sized oven obsolete! If you are in the market for a toaster oven that can do it all and replace an air fryer as well, then look no further. For the price, the size, the features, you can not beat this.

Lots of quality cooking space
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, this is a LARGE toaster oven. It definitely takes up some counter space. But if you have the real estate to give, there is so much room for cooking activities in this appliance! Pizza, snacks, cookies...all great contenders for this unit. I am not much of a cake baker, but I have no doubt you could wish someone a happy birthday without issue. Like most modern kitchen appliances, the design is simple, yet stylish. It will blend in with any decor, but still nod at you with a hint of classy. On the front of this Kitchenaid Toaster Oven are 6 buttons and a knob. All of which are very intuitive and easily allow you to select the right task for the job. Inside, you will find your typical toaster oven racks, but with much more room for cooking quantities. You will also find a handy temperature probe that will assist you in your cooking needs. My experience with this unit has been resoundingly positive. The only issue I have come across is that this toaster oven cooks a little fast. Not uneven, it is just more efficient that what the recommended times have been. This has lead to me over cooking a couple things, but knowing about the cooking capabilities of this toaster oven, I have just adjusted my times accordingly. Want to cook a dinner for the family in your toaster oven? This Kitchenaid unit will do the job. It will do every job, and then some!

Game Changer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't even bother using my home oven or stove unless truly necessary. Having a toaster oven is simply the greatest appliance I have ever added to my kitchen. This is probably the largest toaster oven I have ever seen/used and I love it. Particularly it's a great and fast way to prepare meals for the kids. It has 12 presets that basically over the entire food spectrum. The convection of this toaster oven is super quiet and you can barely tell it's on, but don't let that concern you because if you forget about your food the toaster oven shuts off after your timer is done. This is great if you have teenagers running around who happens to throw in pizza rolls or french fries. It takes a few tries to get a feel for the perfect cook times. Once you gauge the cook times, you quickly find yourself using this to prepare every meal out of sheer convenience and the quick cook speed. My favorite feature is the internal lights when you open the front door, I've never had a toaster oven with that before, its a nice touch. Overall, fantastic appliance from Kitchenaid. It's going to get heavy use from my family, especially in the heat of summer.

Nice addition to my kitchen
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The oven is just the right size for a counter top addition to my kitchen. It is big enough for most cooking tasks without taking up the entire counter. It has some very handy presets for common cooking items. I have used it mostly for hating up frozen items such as pizzas, pizza rolls, chicken wings and other frozen items. The toast feature did an amazing job of toasting some pretzel buns for sandwiches as well. It makes short work of ordinary cooking and the convection oven heats very evenly. The only feature that I would add would be to report back the temperature when preheating. It goes from start to finish and starts the timer automatically when it reaches the programmed temperature. It would be helpful to have a running temperature update as it preheats. The food comes out perfectly and I find myself using this considerably more often than my regular over. Finally, the cleanup is a breeze. There is a tray at the bottom of the oven that is easily removed and eliminates the need to do much cleaning inside the oven itself.

Every kitchen should have one!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is awesome! It's super easy to use, it comes clean easily, it cooks nice and fast, doesn't take long to warm up... I roasted a pork loin in it and it came out amazing. Fish sticks cooked nice and fast, and were good and crispy. Chicken nuggets also cook fast and nice and crispy. The fish sticks and nuggets cooked a lot better in this toaster than they do in my air fryer! I made a couple of racks worth of chicken wings which came out great, and I cooked a frozen pizza in 15 minutes! Overall I love my new toaster... I basically use it for all my cooking needs now... It doesn't heat up my kitchen like the oven does, so I'll be able to use it in the summer time too. This toaster earns an easy 5 stars, and I would recommend it to everyone!

The Adult Easy Bake Oven….
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over the last few days, I have been quite the "Iron Chef" with my new KitchenAid countertop oven. This oven is quite fancy, starting from the matte black exterior with the chrome accents, it screams class, to the features that it offers. Honestly, the best description I can give is that of an Adult Easy-Bake Oven. Why, may I call it that. Well, for one, it is actually quite simple to use. The controls are simple. It has 6 buttons and a knob to help select your functions. The buttons are laid out for efficient use. The "Function" button enables the knob to select one of 12 different functions, from toast slices and bagel, pizza, cookies, bake, broil, roast, convection bake, warm, pre-heat and proof (for bread proofing, dough rising). The oven supports a maximum temperature range of 450F, which is enough to roast a leg of lamb or a t-bone steak. Of the six buttons, two of them start and cancel. The rest of the buttons are either for time or temperature settings, with frozen being the most useful of them. One-touch re-heat of frozen dinners. My testing on this oven consisted of baking several batches of cookies (nestle toll house), baking salmon with dill and lemon, broiling some NY Strip after a low and slow cook to a perfect medium cook, low and slow of lemon pepper chicken thighs (@225 F for 30 minutes). I am very impressed with the temperature control of the device. It helps that the meat probe (which is included) is accurate and easy to use. I found my steak was perfect and the chicken to be cooked just as I would have wanted, juicy and yet flavorful. Overall, the oven performed flawlessly. I am glad KitchenAid made this device. A lot of these countertop units on the market are not of this quality. The oven's quality shows as the racks are dishwasher safe, and the trays can be hand washed with warm water and left to dry. The unit is big enough that it will take a ¼ sheet baking sheet tray. The advanced features make up for the price, and being a KitchenAid, it should run forever.

Another solid appliance from KitchenAid
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a huge fan of KitchenAid appliances, and have yet to find one I didn't like or that wasn't made well, this toaster oven is no exception. The quality of the oven is as expected of KitchenAid. The exterior is sleek, the fans are quiet, and the exterior does not get as hot as my older toaster oven. Note that this oven will take up a bit of counter space, with additional space required on top, back, and sides due to the heat it can generate. Out of the box you have a solid bottom crumb tray for the bottom rack, a wire rack, a pan with broil rack, and last a meat probe. Assembly is put racks in oven and plug in. My first test was cookies, no need to read the instructions, dial through the options, select cookies and the defaults were exactly what the recipe called for, something like 375 and 10 min. The oven will preheat and once temperature is reached, an alarm will beep and the timer will begin automatically. I did manage to underestimate the heating element, put the cookies on the top rack, and browned the tops of the cookies a bit more than I prefer. Learning my lesson, my next test was cinnamon rolls. I selected the bake option, set the time and temp and put them in, 13 minutes later (and 2 minutes faster than advised) they came out perfectly. All this to say that if you will likely need to experiment with time and temperature adjustments to get the same results you achieve with an oven. However once you figure it out, this is much quicker and easier than a traditional oven. Overall I'm a fan, so far I've used most of the presets, which can be edited, as well as the proofing feature which is nice when making multiple batches of rolls. The only feature I haven't tried out is the meat probe, however the probe connector looks to be robust and I don't have concerns with it breaking or inaccurate readings, both of which I have dealt with on my previous toaster oven.

Love this toaster oven!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is it ok to love a toaster? Because I do. There is a lot of space inside, everything cooks so evenly and precise, and it looks sleek! Definitely not an eye sore on your counter. I love that it’s all digital. You can pick what you’re cooking/baking/toasting and it has preset settings to cook it perfect. I toasted a bagel on the factory setting and it was just a tad too light, so I adjusted the shade with a simple turn of the dial and perfect! And exactly the same perfect next time. The digital timer helps greatly for consistent results rather than guessing on one of those wind up timers. No more waiting for my electric oven to preheat for little things! Love this toaster!!

Who needs a stove?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before you purchase this unit please take down the measurements and make sure you have enough space for it. It's huge for a toaster oven and probably should just be called a mini-oven. For some odd reason they decided to leave the specs off so here's a copy/paste of the outer dimensions: 16.4 x 18.5 x 13 inches. I'd do the measurements myself but my lazy behind just got upstairs after measuring the inside dimensions and assumed the product specs would have at least had that important info. Inner specs are about - 14.75w x 6.25h x 12d. So it's definitely big enough to handle a 12" pizza. The edge will slightly hang off the front of the rack, but you'll have a little clearance from the door. Not only can you do pizza, but lasagna, meat loaf, chicken, etc. Amazing thing is that you can even do cookies. Baked goods are usually a no-no for toaster ovens because of the close proximity to the burners. The KitchenAid oven has enough room where it's not a concern. Baking a loaf of bread might be a bit iffy since the clearance is only a bit bigger than 6", but maybe a banana nut loaf or possibly even a cake. So many things I wanna try but just haven't gotten to yet! The convection fans are relatively quite compared to my old unit and the unit we use at work. You can hear them blowing, but it's easily lost in the background noise of the kitchen. When you turn on the oven it preheats before countdown so keep that in mind when cooking. And there is a huge selection of pre-sets to choose from, but I'll just settle with toast, bake, and convection. I just like the extra control instead of leaving it up to someone else to determine my cook times. Unlike the digital unit we have at work, the KitchenAid actually shuts off when the timer's up. Everyday week there's at least one burning incident at work because they walk away and the oven keeps cooking after the time's up. The KitchenAid shuts down. Now this doesn't mean that heat will immediately evacuate the oven so there's still a chance to over cook. The maximum cook time is 2hrs, which is long enough for most of my tasks. With it's size and ease of use I really feel like I'll be using my stove a lot less. This is the perfect toaster/mini-oven in my opinion.

Excellent counter top oven
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.KItchenAid did an all around great job with this toaster oven. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the design and packaging of this toaster oven. I appreciated them putting the quick start directions on the inside flaps of the box rather than printing another sheet. The first thing I tested on this unit was it's basic toasting ability. Selecting the function for toast, the shade of the toast and amount of slices was pretty straight forward. At first I was a little concerned that the toast would not come out how I like it ,however this toaster nailed it. The next thing I tried was a 12 inch pizza and this oven had no problem with that either. I appreciate that this toaster oven will give you and audible chime when you reach the desired preheat temp because my previous Toshiba toaster did not. Cook times may vary a little but you will get used to that very quickly (lets just say the cookies were a little crispier than planned). I can truly say that I wont be using my regular oven as much for anything that can fit in this oven
