Customers love the quiet operation and excellent cleaning performance of this dishwasher, with many noting that dishes consistently come out spotless. However, some users have experienced issues with the racks, particularly the upper rack's durability and design. While the capacity is appreciated by some, longer cycle times have been a point of concern for others. Overall, the positive feedback on cleaning and noise levels is significant.

Unit was purchased to replace an identical version from about 6 years ago (broken door hinge). Given that we chose to replace with the same model, we have been pleased with the performance in general. Installation was easy (though we had to stop midway to run out and buy the adapter/fitting) and the unit is quieter than the previous (also quiet) due to extra insulation. Performance is as expected with all dishes and silver clean (and spot free) even though we run it only about 1.5 times per week. Only complaint so far is the soap door does not close easily. If it does not loosen with time, we will have the repair company out to check (purchased extended warranty - seems like a must with appliances these days). Differences between the old and new models: the silverware basket on the old is better (heavier and the lids/covers are attached so they cannot fall into the baskets - we chose to swap the old basket for use in the new unit); on the old unit Normal Wash was the default; on the new it must be chosen each time; more plastic lid holders in new unit. Paid $799.99 on sale and the Best Buy folks were great to work with during the busy holidays.

First of all, I am a male so for me to be posting a review on a dishwasher is a little funny. This unit is truly amazing. Not only was it on sale I got it for 200 less because box had been opened. Only this was a cancelled order and the unit never actually left the box. Installation was pretty easy but the dino I replaced it with had too short of a hose for water and hook up was different so I would recomend paying for installation as it took me about 2 hours to fiddle with it. Now on to the pay dirt. The first time I ran this awesome machine it was like being the only person on earth. Ultra quiet could faintly hear it filling and running as I stood next to it. I used to have to crank the tv up cause my old one sounded like a 747 was in the kitchen. Nice bells and whistles as it has the hard food grinder and heated drying. Tons of space inside for me and has height adjustable upper rack. Kind of cheap on the silverware rack material but plenty of space none the less. Hope this helps anyone who was contemplating this unit. Im gonna go run another cycle just to be in awe.

Before landing on this dishwasher, we bought an LG dishwasher. The LG did a too job at cleaning, but not a great job at drying. It also seemed to have an odd smell when washing. We replaced it with this kitchen aid dishwasher, which turned out to be a smart move. We've had it for a week now and I love it. It looks great, it's quiet, it's super easy to use, it has the best features like pro scrub, it cleans great, and it drys very well. I'm thrilled with this purchase and strongly recommend it.

Couldn't ask for a better dishwasher

We put this dishwasher through all our tests once it was installed and boy were we surprised at how well it cleaned our dishes. You definitely want to use a rinse aid like the Finish that is included as the drying is much better with it as well as moisture does not remain in the dishwasher when using it. We even tried not rinsing any dishes and had a macaroni and cheese caked on dish that we figured there would be no way it would clean it 100%. Well putting that dish in the ProScrubber zone and choosing that option BAM it was clean and all the non-rinsed dishes were spotless.
Pros:
-Easily adjustable top rack
-Cleans everything we throw at it
-Very quiet
Cons:
-We wish it had a 3rd top short rack

Almost as quiet as the Bosch I had for 11 years prior to this one and cleans even better than the Bosch! I bought an LG and installed it. It didn't clean at all, so Best Buy let me exchange for this one. I was told I wouldn't be happy with anything but Bosch after having one, but their new dishwashers have tines that are too close together for most plates. I like this one better than Bosch!!! AWESOME DISHWASHER!!

We previously had a white kitchen aid dishwasher and was quite please with it. However we have to keep up with the Jones and started converting to stainless steel appliances. This dishwasher is very quite. It does an excellent job at cleaning. Due to it's new improved energy efficiency it does take longer to run through a cycle then our other kitchen aid model but i guess that is life. My only wish was that this model came in the nickel plated coating instead of regular stainless steel so you dont see the finger prints. My awesome Samsung Refrigerator has the nickel plated coating and it totally rocks...no prints anywhere. By the way the old Kitchen Aid dishwasher is still working wonderfully in my other home. Kitchen Aid knows how to make awesome dishwashers!

I shopped around for months and read hundreds of reviews and this is the best dishwasher that you can buy for this price! It is extremely quiet! We have a raised foundation and wood floors throughout our house and I can barely tell that it is running.
I live in an area where the water is extremly hard, I use a teaspoon of a product called "Lemi Shine" along with one to two teaspoons of powder dish detergent and the dishes come out spotless and completely dry every time.

Kitchenaid over Bosch

Hesitantly went with this dishwasher after months of research instead of a Bosch because of the heated dry and disposal features. We have put this dishwasher to the test in the last few weeks to make sure we like it before the 30 day return policy is up.
I have been thrilled with it's performance. I used to rinse my dishes so well before I put them in that when I opened it, I sometimes couldn't tell if they were clean or dirty. I have been putting in dishes without rinsing them at all...just scraping the scraps into the sink and loading. I even put in lasagna plates...leftover lasagna that I heated to near boiling on the plate. I did use the Power Scrub cycle for this and the dishes came out sparkling....shocking!
It loads really well too. I love the upper rack...tons of space. The lower rack fits a lot too...my only complaint is that I can't fit my cookie sheets in or my really big chili pot...not enough height. That's disappointing.
Looks great! Super high end look.
A little louder than I expected...not whisper quiet...can hear maybe the disposal occasionally, mostly right at the beginning of the cycle, but not at all a deal breaker...still quiet, just not silent.
Overall, am very happy with it and would recommend it...and I am picky. My friend tells me I shop for the thrill of the return...plain and simple, if it's not good enough, it goes back...and I'm keeping this one.

We replaced our old Kitchenaid with this new one after the first one died after about 12 years. This new one is very quiet and seems to clean very well. We also seem to be able to fit all of our dishes and silverware better in this new machine. The only issue we notice is that the dry cycle does not seem to dry all that well, but it could be user error.

I went to the store to look at Bosch, but I felt the inside of their dishwashers were very small. The sales representive told me the Kitchenaide also received great reviews. When I looked at them they were much roomier inside. However, some of this extra space comes from there being very little wasted space under the dishwasher. Meaning the bottom shelf sits lower to the floor - so be prepared to bend over more when you load and unload. It is SO quiet when it runs that I can bearly hear it, and my dishes come out very clean! I am so happy not to have to wash my dishes, before putting them in the dishwasher anymore!

I started out with a Maytag that had almost the same features as this Kitchen Aide model although the Maytag did not have the easy-adjustable upper shelf like this one or the adjustable tines. We installed the Maytag ourselves. On the second load in the Maytag we looked under the unit to check for leaks (we are on wood floors). Thank goodness we did, water was pooling under the unit. We pulled it out and ran another cycle to see where it was leaking. During wash cycle water was coming from the tub itself where it was "seamed" on an outside edge. We returned it and continued to shop.
I searched the Kitchen Aide site and found the model that I felt had all that I wanted and located it at Best Buy with an incredible sale price.
We did the install again. The Kitchen Aide has extra insulation that Maytage did not on the underneath side.
We have had it for 2 months and I love this machine. You must use the rinse aid but I always do as we have extremely hard water. My dishes are spotless and the unit is super quiet. If it didn't have a light I would not know when it is running. The pro-scrub feature does work but I pre-rinse. Love the free-standing silverware basket for unloading and it's nice and large. Upper shelf adjusts easily.
This machine far surpasses my 10 year-old top of the line Whirlpool(which I really felt was a good machine, we went to all stainless). No complaints at all!

Unit is more quiet than our last KitchenAid, as it has sound material on the bottom of the unit. The only noise you hear is the food grinder when it runs. It is not perfectly silent, but close enough. Everything comes out clean. These newer units do take longer to wash to conserve water, I think it takes almost three hours to do a complete wash.

After one year I am disappointed.

Before one year warranty expired an led light burned out on top; well, ok, covered under warranty. During repair, service person said the board inside the door had broken mounts so it's sort of just hanging out. He thought it would be okay because it stays in place when the door is sealed up. Thought that was weird since we had never taken apart the door, but okay, ordered a new board since it's under warranty. Can't get just the fasteners. More recently I've noticed dirty dishes. Wow! Less than one year old and I am having to inspect my dishes before I put them away. As I saw in another review, I now always wash on the highest setting to ensure they are getting clean. When I do this, everything seems to come out okay. I've never timed the wash, but it is pretty long. I do rinse off before loading. I did see other comments about the racks breaking off. Apparently kitchenaid did have a defect in the wheel design that rolled the racks. Although mine didn't break, the service company knew it to be a potential problem with an updated wheel fix and thankfully they took care of this. Otherwise I am sure I would've been paying for the newly designed wheels when mine broke after warranty expired. I had my old dishwasher almost 15 years. I don't foresee this one lasting that long.

It's quiet; it cleans nicely; it was an excellent price. The cutlery basket(s) were not well made at all. I had a previous KitchenAid and used that cutlery basket instead. Also, when opening and closing the door the buttons at the top of the door are too easily depressed. My previous KitchenAid had a similar control panel and did not have this problem. BUT, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a dishwasher, but wanted the reliability of a KitchenAid. This filled the bill nicely.

Went from a 20+ year old Kitchen Aid to this unit. New unit is very quiet, does a great job. Cycle time is much slower than older machine but you can hardly hear it, so what is the difference? Classic simple good looks. Makes all the other appliances look bad!

The dishes are clean. We can wash dishes without turning up the sound on anything. I can tell it is on if I am standing next to it and listen hard. I like the lights that tell you what cycle it is on and when it is done.
