Customers are saying

Customers love the quiet operation and excellent cleaning performance of this dishwasher, with many noting that dishes consistently come out spotless. However, some users have experienced issues with the racks, particularly the upper rack's durability and design. While the capacity is appreciated by some, longer cycle times have been a point of concern for others. Overall, the positive feedback on cleaning and noise levels is significant.

    Love it! Quiet

I really like the dishwasher. It's quiet and cleans well. Just a note that the buttons are sensitive. We have to keep control lock on all the time. It would be nice if the dishwasher required you to hold a button for a second to select something instead of selecting something when you barely touch it or brush against it. These buttons are at the top so it happens when we're loading and unloading the dishwasher. I'm glad we didn't get the model with the buttons on the front.

We bought this for our vacation home after buying a similar model for our main house two years ago. We loved the original and this model is even better. Quiet, cleans great, love it!

    Good price, somewhat lower quality?

We bought this unit to replace our 15-year-old dishwasher in preparation for a kitchen remodel because we wanted a clean look, better energy efficiency, and quieter operation. We had $500 in Best Buy gift certificates so rather than purchase this item through the kitchen remodeling folks, we purchased it on our own. The overall price was about $150 less than what they would have charged us, but $500 of it was free money, so... Anyway -- we are very happy with how quiet the unit is and how it looks. I'm sure efficiency will be evident over the next year. There might be something wrong with the bottom rotating spray arms - we think they aren't moving -- something seems to be broken. I found a broken plastic piece in the bottom of the unit that might be the culprit -- working it out through warranty. It doesn't seem to clean pots and pans as thoroughly as our old unit, even using the Pro-Scrub feature, but that may be because of the spray arm issue. Hopefully we'll get the issue worked out, but in general we are happy with the purchase.

    So far so good

I purchased this dishwasher after lots of research. I was originally looking for a Bosch, but got scared away by lots of people saying they are quiet, but don't clean or dry very well. I'm a little disappointed in the build quality ( i.e. The racks don't slide in and out as smoothly as the ~$1,200 Kitchenaids) and noise level of this unit compared to the higher end units, but for hundred less, you get what you pay for I suppose. On the trial run for this unit, I put in a baking pan with baked-on food and used the Pro-Scrub option and placed the pan right at the jets. To my disappointment, the pan did not come out clean. I think my expectations were a bit too high for this unit. Anyway, with my new lowered expectations, I'm pretty happy considering the price. The unit starts out making some noise, but gets pretty quiet after a minute or so. I've only used it three times so far, so I don't know about reliability yet. The clear plastic glasses it washed the other day came out looking new for the first time since they were actually new, so I'm pleased with that.

    quietest dishwasher ever

This is, seriously, the quietest dishwasher i have ever heard. I can't even tell it is running much of the time. Buttons are a bit touchy, but you can lock them easily, so not really a problem. Dishes come out very clean. Lots of height for my rather large plates. My last dishwasher was a KitchenAid as well. I was waiting for the old one to break down, because I wanted to replace it with stainless. After ten years of waiting for this 20 plus year old dishwasher to break, I finally gave in and bought new one. Love the KitchenAid!

We moved into our new home 11 years ago. Since that time i went through 2 GE Profile Series dishwasher that were junk. i was torn between the Kitchen Aid and the Bosch. After extensive reviews and calls to some of the appliance repair places i had to use for my GE over the years i decided on the Kitchen Aid. This model in particular because of the added features i needed like delay start. (not that you need it for noise because this unit is very quiet). I also like the added jets on the rear wall. You will need to buy an adapter for the water line that is not included for some reason. $4.15 at Lowes. My dishes have never been cleaner and this unit is very quiet. very happy and i am not an easy guy to please when it comes to appliances. i even tested it by having knives with 2 day old peanut butter on them and plates with dryed ketchup. Spotless. Amazing

    So far it is great!

Originally had a Samsung, it stunk... literally due to food getting caught in the rubber door liner which caused mold to build up inside the dishwasher (really!). This one seems to fit the bill. So far no issues: clean dishes (no matter how the teenagers load them), and is super quiet. I'm enjoying the adjustable rack for the times I have taller glasses to wash. A little more than I wanted to spend.

Kitchenaid dishwasher breaks once a month

I bought this dishwasher last December. Since then it has broken five times. Once, a piece of the top rack broke and the whole rack full of dishes fell down. The other four times, the dishes on the top rack haven't come out clean. Each time it needs repair, i have to hand wash the dishes until the technician comes and then take a half day off to wait for him. To avoid having this ongoing problem, I have repeatedly asked Kitchenaid for a replacement machine. Their answer is that "unfortunately the warranty covers repairs and not replacement and as long as the technician who comes out deems the machine repairable, it's not eligible for replacement." Ktichenaid feels that it is within reason for the machine to break this frequently and then once the warranty expires for me to pay for these frequent repairs. When i complained about the frequency of having to hand wash the dishes, the Customer Service Supervisor told me that if I choose to wash the dishes by hand when they are dirty, that's a "decision of my own choosing". On top of it, they have tried to shift the blame to me for the machine's repeated malfunction. I have owned five dishwashers prior to this one and have never had difficulty using it. I paid around $1,000 for this machine. It's unreasonable to have to live with breakdowns of this frequency. Kitchenaid thinks it's fine. I will never buy anything from them again. Do so at your own risk.

This dish washer has lots of options the pro wash cycle does a good job on csroles, I have found by closing the lids on the silverware caddeis that you can put utencils thru slits to keep them from bunching to gether it cleans cookie sheets very well. when installing this dish washer make sure to buy instalation kit as you will need a part that comes in kit also if you need to side mount it use the mounts that come whith it as they are the same as the ones that you special order fo side mounting

We've owned this for just a few weeks and so far, we love this dishwasher. The unit replaced our 11yr old GE Profile and the increased storage and reduced noice is just incredible. We reviewed many dishwashers before making our purchase and this is our first, of most likely more Kitchenaide products. We've used it with heat drying on and off. As long as you use JetDry, which is recommended, either way works with no spots.

This seemed to be the best choice for us. Its not the whisper quiet I had imagined it to be but it is probably on par with its competition. Matched our other Kitchen Aid appliances so it was an easy choice. Love that you can adjust the top rack up and down a little to allow for bigger plates on the bottom.

It works! So far, so good

I put dishes in and they come out clean! Quiet. My last dishwasher (Maytag) was a HUGE lemon and we got rid of it after only ~ 6yrs. It would not get rid of the ground up dirt so dishes would come out with baked on crud. Sometimes items come out "dirtier" than when they went it. Maybe I have low expectations -- but my dishwasher works and I couldn't be happier. Pair that with it being on sale, getting good reviews. I say you won't be disappointed..

We replaced an LG dishwasher that we absolutely hated, and while there might be machines that are quieter, this one is quiet enough and to this point the cleaning is superb. The LG machine did not have a drying element, so we insisted on having that in the new machine and the dishes do not come out with water dripping off them. Overall, it's been a good purchase so far.

Replaced Kenmore Elite that was 9 year sold and worked really well until motor died. Researched many dishwashers and was deciding between this and Bosch. The Kitchen Aid had a bit more room inside. I'm really happy with this purchase. I gave it 4 stars only because it's still on the pricy side at $890

Broke 2x in less than 2 years

Initially I liked this dishwasher. However with average use, 1 month after the warranty expired a sensor broke mid-cycle. The technician that came to repair it ($$$) said that it was a common problem with KitchenAid dishwashers. Now less than a year later the plastic component that connects the top rack (left side) to the pull out mechanism has broken. My top rack is now lopsided and impossible to pull out. The technician actually warned me about this which means it is also a common problem. In addition when I open it there is a terrible squeak that no amount of WD40 will fix. Finally there is a design flaw with the utensil separator that sits on top of the uneasily holder. It is such a poor connection that it comes out every time you remove utensils. DO NOT buy this product. I am not even going to get it fixed...I am going to cut my losses and buy a different brand.

This is our second kitchen aid dishwasher. Very quite in our open concept hardwood floors house. Does a great job in cleaning. Adjustable racks are easy to work. Enjoy the fact the silverware basket has the option of closing the basket to keep small items in. Pricing is competitive for this higher end dishwasher.

I had a white Kitchen Aid dishwasher for over 10 years and it was still working when we put the new one in. We were updating our kitchen and decided to go with all stainless steel appliances. I wanted to keep with Kitchen Aid because all their appliances always been reliable.
