Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the quiet operation, excellent cleaning performance, and ease of use of this dishwasher. Many appreciate its large capacity and attractive design, while some find the cycle times longer than expected and the stainless steel prone to showing fingerprints. The adjustable racks and clear display panel also receive positive feedback. However, concerns have been raised regarding the long-term reliability of the control panel and dishwasher.

Love my KitchenAid Architect II Dishwasher

In my previous home I had all KitchenAid appliances. In moving to FL and buying a new build home, the builder's grade appliances did not cut it with me. Within one year I purchased an all new kitchen with KitchenAid appliances. This dishwasher holds so much more and cleans so much better than anything I have ever had. Thank you Pacific Kitchens and Best Buy.

    Smart choice for a dishwasher

We had a 17 yr old KitchenAid dishwasher that still worked fine, only thing that showed it's age was the color (bisque) & a few of the tines had broken off. I researched dishwashers online & it came down to KitchenAid & Bosch. What sealed the deal for KitchenAid is their dishwashers still have a heating element for drying. I read too many reviews with complaints that the european dishwashers without a heating element do not dry the dishes so I didn't want to take a chance. And since my last KitchenAid was still going strong after 17 yrs, I thought that was a good sign. This dishwasher cleans well, I leave the door shut for quite a while after it's finished & that lets the dishes dry completely, It's also pretty quiet at 44dba. I like that the top rack is adjustable height wise, but haven't had to adjust it yet. Only complaint is it seems like I could fit more in the top rack of my old dishwasher vs this one, not sure why that is since the layout is almost identical. I liked the clips for wine glasses on the old dishwasher better, the stems actually clipped into place, with the new one they don't actually clip the stems so to me it's not as secure. Don't know why they changed that. But overall so far am happy with my purchase, just hope it lasts as long as my old one did!

My parents' first dishwasher was a KitchenAid and I have good memories of their solid reputation. I could have paid more for some non-American made brand, but I trusted their reputation and have not been disappointed. It cleans and dries all the dishes very well and it is super quiet, which is good because I'm in a small condo. The controls on the top edge of the door give it a very sleek look and the operation is very intuitive. If you've ever tested the door on a new car to feel how solid the construction is when you shut it, you'll know you have a great dishwasher when you do the same sort of thing with this unit.

Nice replacement for my old Kitchenaid dishwasher

My 12 year old Kitchenaid dishwasher was acting up in a few ways and seemed like it was on the way out so this was a replacement that looked almost exactly like my old one with the exception of the front display that lets you know what stage the dishwasher is in ( washing, rinsing, etc) I love this feature!!! and always wished my old one had something similar. This new one is also very quiet- I read in reviews that people could hardly tell it was running and I must say that is true- super quiet. Some of the internal baskets/gadgets are not very useful so I pulled them out. There is one on the back of the top rack but it takes up too much space away from regular dishes. The knife holder on the side is the same way, don't have much use for it. Also, the lids for the flatware have holes where you can slide the handles of the spoons, forks, etc in the holes but my flatware's handles are too big for the holes so that is also not useful. Another improvement over my old dishwasher is the soap/rinse aid dispenser. Whoever designed the old one did a pretty poor job of it. The new one is greatly improved. So far loving this machine because it cleans well and is so quiet, which are top priorities for me. Only complaints are the new fangled gadgets that have been added that don't seem very useful, and probably add significantly to the cost.

This dishwasher is so very quiet and does a fabulous job cleaning. The top rack is adjustable which is helpful since we have large plates. It does take a long time to finish a cycle and the stainless steel does show fingerprints. Can't beat this good value dishwasher.

This is the quietest dishwasher I've ever had. The dishes came out clean and dry. The inside was large enough to do pots and pans as well as dishes. The adjustability of the racks helped with making additional space for large items. The racks slide in and out easily. The design is elegant as well as functional.

I've had many Dishwashers through the years and I can honestly tell you this is the best of the best. They advertise quiet, and this is one time they mean it. I have an open floor plan and I don't even know it's running. I put it to the test with an aluminum meatloaf pan with some meat burnings, and I was shocked that it cleaned it perfectly. For the first time I proudly own a dishwasher that cleans on the first try. I've had it for about 4 weeks now and I haven't had to re-wash anything, not even by hand. You won't be disappointed in this purchase.

I purchased this item after reading the Consumer Reports recommendation - I did see a number of negative reviews on this site and others, but went ahead anyway and ordered it and I am glad I did. I have had it for about 6 weeks and it cleans beautifully with daily use - and dries completely (the big reason I went with this machine over the Bosch which just air dries). It is so quiet, I can barely tell it is on - and the rack mechanisms slide in and out so nicely - one of the best we tested. I am however concerned about the soap dispenser - the sliding cover seems a little flimsy so I am hoping it holds up.

This replaced a 21 year old KA Superba (circuit board died). As it was 2 models old, it was heavily discounted. Good capacity and rack design, super quiet, and dries much better than the old one (even plastic!). Cycles take a bit longer but not too bad. The utensil holder is larger as well. I also like the exterior LED status indicator. My only issue was the Rinse Aid dispenser - initially it seemed not to fill to the point where you could see blue in the indicator. Excess leaked out and ran down the interior door. But after I ran a cycle, the indicator stayed fully blue and all is working fine now. A friend with the same mode had a similar experience. So it was more confusing than a true issue.

So far have not had any problems. My last kitchen aid died, electronic problems, easier to buy another than fix, This is not as big or easy to load as my last one,but will take some getting used to, Very quiet. Cleans great. Many cycles. Hope to have for 5 to 7 years. That is about how long they last. Happy with the dishwasher, but service at Best Buy-ugly. Excluding salesperson and installer, they were great. Management was a trip. Dishwasher was dented, promised to sell at a discounted price and after install tried to back down. After contacting corporate, bank card complaint they did right, but should I have to go thru that.

A beautiful, up-to-date machine. It holds lots of dishes and has many loading options. It seems to clean well, although I have not tested it with dried on food. As the available information indicates, the cycle is longer than older dishwashers and dishes, even when using the high temp water setting, do not dry well. Buyers should also be aware that this model may not fit easily into the space of older dishwashers; installation might be a problem.

This dishwasher cleans well for the most part. It is very quiet. They tell you to download the manuals but for my model thy haven't uploaded them on Kitchenaides Web site. I do not like the baskets, neither of them. If all you have to wash is flat plates, saucers, and small wine glasses you'll do fine. Anything else like pans, especially 9 x 13 casseroles, them you're out of luck standing the on edge, Also, on the bottom rack you cannot flatten the guides to load large items like slow cooker pots. The silverware baskets are three parts with the small front one being nonremovable. If you put anything in that basket it will NOT come clean. They push separating your silverware into individual pieces through the tops of the baskets but if you have a large family there are not enough slots. The baskets themselves are odd sizes. It does have a very good selection of cycles.

We run our dishwasher every day in our house. We bought this dishwasher to replace our 9-10 year old Kitchenaide. This dishwasher has some great features. Gets the job done and is quiet too. We love how the display on the exterior shows how many minutes are left in the cycle, and when the load is clean. Would buy it again. Hope this one lasts a bit longer (our previous Kitchenaid racks rusted out and broke off; and the motor or electrical parts eventually burned out).

I bought this in Dec 2018 and felt the overwhelming need to write a review after 2 years of owning the product.... and I strongly do not recommend it. Pros - Looks good, it was a significant upgrade from the Frigidaire dishwasher that the previous tenant had left behind. - the heated-dry worked very well. Cons This line of kitchenAid (and similar) are known to be defective. the water sump is faulty, and once it breaks it starts leaking water all over the floor. AFAICT there is a good chance if will face this if you buy it Here is the link to the lawsuit - https://www.classaction.org/blog/failure-to-seal-class-action-says-whirlpool-kitchenaid-jennair-maytag-dishwashers-can-leak-damage-property When I called KitchenAid, I was told the warranty for part was 1 year (and I was at year#2) and that any replacement would cost $550. I decided to bite the cost and ordered a replacement. The official KitchenAid service is worse than Comcast, it has been ~3 months since I ordered and the replacement part is still waiting to be delivered. I am shopping for another Dishwasher right now and sincerely hope to never interact with Kitchen-anti-Aid again in my life.

Easy to use with minimal directions. I wish the silverware holders were slightly wider. I also thought the ProDry setting would dry a little better. I still have to dry some dishes. It cleans fair. I still feel like I need to rinse and thought I may not have to do that. I like how quietly it runs, and that it displays what part of the cycle is occurring.

So far one of the best washers I have put in. It has ultra smooth shelves that come in and out with ease. Excellent space for tons of dishes. Would give 5 stars but the silverware holders can be a little annoying to hook in and are in three parts so it makes for several more trips when pulling them out and emptying them. The holes for the silverware are a bit small and don’t fit ours so we just leave the top open or off.
