Excellent sound and great addition to the compatible soundbar.

These do not add much in the way of Surround Sound when you pair them with the Klipsch SoundBar. They are extremely overpriced for minimal effect.

Does not work without the Klipsch sound bar, which is difficult to find without the speakers.

The Surround 3 speakers are designed to be paired with certain Klipsch sound bars (Cinema 600, Cinema 800, BAR-48).

This is a great add on to the Klipsch BAR48. If the audio seems low on then, make sure you update the BAR48 firmware and then you can turn the volume up on these.

If you have the Klipsch Bar 48 TV sound bar, it is definitely worth considering adding the optional Surround 3 speakers. Setup is quite simple. Arrange the speakers behind or off to the side, plug them both into a power socket and flick the switch on each to designate as Left or Right. Plug the USB transmitter that comes with the Surround 3 speakers into the sound bar (there is a hidden slot on the right side of the sound bar, under a trim panel) and then press the pair button on the sound bar (also under the hidden side panel) and both speakers (a button on the back of each speaker). That's it! I did make the mistake of doing one surround speaker at a time which does not work - fire them both off together and they will pair at the same time with the sound bar. The surround sound for me was subtle but noticeable and it could depend on the source as to how effective it was. General TV did not seem to be that much changed with the addition of the rear channels but the Blu-Ray movie I tried was better. The best experience though was trying some of the Netflix shows that have 5.1 sound. I watched an episode of the Netflix series "Drive to Survive" about Formula 1 racing and the additional channels increased the immersion spectacularly. It does little for the interviews and voice overs but any time you got to see events on the track and especially cars flying by, the surround channels added to the realism. I have my speakers set up as portable - they are stored away when not being used but for an event or something I really want surround sound, they can be brought out (on stands) and then just plugged in and they are ready to go almost immediately - the pairing sticks, which is great. You can permanently install them on stands or wall mount but I found the power cables a little short for a permanent install and unless you have hidden power under the sofa, it may not pass the "Significant-Other-Acceptance-Factor" test! If you have the Bar 48, these are a great addition, easy to set up and definitely add to the very good sound of the Bar 48 alone.

After pairing and unpairing multiple times to my bar 48, turned the volume on them up, I realized that they weren’t really working. They weren’t audible unless I was within a 2 feet of them.

While these speakers make a nice addon for the Klipsh 48 soundbar, that addition is very subtle at best. I had to put my ear up to them to make sure they were working. Toggling surround on and off on the soundbar I could also notice the difference, but it was very slight. I really would've liked to be able to adjust the volume levels on these speakers to enhance the surround effect. And the lack of that simple control I think really limits the application of these speakers to a subtle surround (but better than virtual, or no surround at all). And if you're in a noisy environment, or you can place these very near your listening area, you might not get any benefit at all, which again could be solved by being able to adjust their volume, which you can't. Beyond that flaw, these do seem nice, They are smaller than I expected, but that could work to their benefit, as it makes positioning them even easier, on top of the flexibility you get with them being "wireless" (still need power of course). Pairing was also super easy... essentially just have to plug in a dongle into the side of the soundbar (concealed by the end cap), and plug the speakers in and they sync'd right away. A little odd that a plugin dongle is needed, but at least it disappears and is concealed in the side of the soundbar. Being able to adjust the volume on these would move them from 3 stars and tough to recommend, to probably 5 stars and would recommend.

These klipsch surround 3 speakers are meant to be paired to klipschs new premium lineup of soundbars. They give you the full affect of a 5.1 speakers surround sound. And they do the job well. They are meant for the added sound effects, so they won’t blow your mind since the main sound comes from the bar 48 or the like. Which is amazing by the way. Pairing is easy enough. Though it will take about 20-30 minutes If you run into trouble. I recommend using the instructions to the T. Also since these are a higher end brand. You will need actual mounting brackets or stands with them built in. You can’t just hammer a nail in the wall and mount. Which I don’t mind just using a nail. Design is great. Wood and fabric mesh for speaker grills. Very solid and well built. Great add on for movie lover who want 5.1 but don’t want wires all over the place or don’t want to drill holes in the walls.

This has been my first experience with the Klipsch brand and I must admit I’ve really been missing out. I paired these Klipsch Surround 3 Wireless Speakers with the Klipsch 3.1-Channel 440W Soundbar System with 8" Subwoofer for a 5.1 surround sound setup and I couldn’t be happier with the result. The setup process was very easy and straightforward. All I had to do was plug in the included USB transmitter into the soundbar and power the speakers with the included 6-foot-long power cables. The speakers paired right away and the length of the power cables made it easy for me to find just the right spot for the speakers. The sound quality is crisp and amazing and I can’t imagine watching TV and movies the way I used to ever again. Overall, the Klipsch Surround 3 Wireless Speakers are fantastic wireless speakers and I highly recommend them!

The Klipsch Reference surround speaker set, consisting of left and right surround speakers, is a good set to add on to the Reference sound bar and subwoofer set (separate package; separate review), but it’s in no way a “reference” system for those used to high quality sound reproduction. This is a straightforward package. Open it up, and you’re presented with left and right speakers, felt pads if you want to have them sitting on a surface, and some photocopied instructions that are stapled together. Keep in mind, although these speakers are “wireless”, they’re still powered. This means that you must find somewhere to place them within range of an outlet, so this somewhat limits their placement for quality reproduction. Once plugged in, the only thing that’s required is to sync each speaker to the sound bar as that’s what drives the whole system. The messy part of the process is that each speaker must be done individually, and that entails prepping the speaker to sync, running to the sound bar, initiating the sync, then checking each speaker that it is, in fact, synced. In my case, this took several laps around the living room because the first 2-3 sync attempts didn’t work. One of the nice things about the speakers is that they’re pre-drilled and -threaded for either 10-24 or 10-32 bolts, which is standard for speaker mounts should you decide to hang them from a wall or ceiling. I had a set of mounts from my Definitive Technologies ProSurrounds that fit perfectly and allowed me to be a little more custom with my installation. The downside to these speakers is that they almost don’t exist. I haven’t found a movie or game yet that allowed them to come into their potential for rear surround. In fact, I forget they’re there since it’s rare that I hear them perform at all. I’ve checked to make sure they’re still synced several times due to not being able to hear them. Overall, unless you absolutely have to have a set of rear surrounds, don’t bother with these.
