But you have to always remove the plug from the wall in order to put it off. There is no power off/on button..

The speakers made a static sound when the volume was turned up or down when you used the knob. I Had to return them.

By far the best pc speakers I have ever bought. The only gripe I have is the power button is located on the sub woofer which isnt too bad. The sub woofer weights 11 pounds and has a built in amp. It is thx certified, it has two nobs to control the sound and the bass. It has two plugs for headphones or aux cable for mp3. I love plugging in my ipod while I play a game so my computer wont knock down performance. I never needed the reason to go half way on volume since it plays perfectly around my laptop. Really worth the price tag I recommend top anyone who wants quality sound on their computer.

I really like these speakers, although sound quality is just short of excellent. Let me clarify...I have no doubt they sound excellent for this price range. If you spend twice as much, you MIGHT get better sound; I'm just very cheap, & very picky! The thing I like about Klipsch is their products usually have by far the best sound for the price. It's just that I was hoping for a little more fullness in the midrange frequencies. Vocals aren't quite as rich as I had hoped. However, with most genres this is not really noticeable. Sound is VERY crisp & clear, but not overly bright (for my taste), with excellent bass. These speakers have way more power than you need for a desktop! When trying out in-store demos, I thought the Bose Companion 20 speakers sounded richer/fuller, but they were also a lot more expensive. I also don't think they pack as much punch on the low end. For $150, I'm happy with my choice of Klipsch. If you can find them for less than that, grab them--you won't regret it. As far as quality, I've had no issues. I was worried by all the reviews complaining about the defective plug connector on back of the sub, but so far mine works perfectly. I haven't moved it around since setting it up though, so I'd advise caution if you do. Simple knobs for subwoofer & main volume work as expected & have a smooth feel. Hope this review helps! Other thoughts: a gold-plated 1/8" connector would've been a nice touch.

Awesome sound for watching movies and playing games on my home office computer. Definitely an improvement from previous cheaper 2.1 system. Clear highs and controllable crisp bass. Some people have complained about them not turning off but has not been an issue for me. There are better systems for much more money but for the price this system is awesome.

I have had these amazing speakers for well over 3 years. I bought them back when they were reintroduced to the market after a decade of being discontinued at stores. Having heard a lot of positive reviews and after reading countless online raves about this set, it was a no brainer that I took one home the moment I saw one at best buy. Sound quality - The best possible PC speakers you can get for your money. The highs sound crystal clear, the mids are precise and hard hitting bass is just not easy to get right. However these Klipsch's live up to their name and deliver on what they promise unlike many other gaming brands like Corsair, Logitech etc. The sound is very well balanced and the bass does not overpower or drown the musicality of the satellite speakers which is a rare thing to come by. Build quality - The solid feel and heft to each speakers is a good indication of attention paid build materials. However I still hold a grudge against the volume knob which with time creates cracking noises and chirps ( mine after a year of use) as you increase or decrease the volume. The Best Buy's demo unit is a testament to that as it has been fiddled around by passers by a lot. Also mine completely stopped working after 3 years of solid use. I have no complaints, since I had a great time shaking the walls off and making my apartment neighbors complain most of times while I felt the vibration travel through the floor where I had the privilege to not just hear the music, but also to feel the rumble as well. Will I buy again? Yes, and I would also recommend to anyone who is willing to buy PC speaker for multimedia use. If you want the best sounding PC speaker that is not hard on your wallet, yet outstanding on performance, this is it.

I was looking for something with a little more power, but for the price they will suffice

Bought them a couple of weeks, put them to a test right away at a wedding for a wedding video. speakers worked beautifully. highs were high, mids were great, and the lows thump. what else do you to know other than that they are thx certified, enough said. i owned a pair of the logitech z-2300 before. they worked really well, highs weren't as good as the klipsch but the bass was a little bit better. there are plenty of oomph behind these. they were plenty powerful to fill a large motel hall for the wedding video. a motel hall!! sweet... one of the best things that gets overlooked i think is wiring, hardly any wires on these, no third knob hanging out on the desk, just straight up volume/sub control on one speaker, nice!! if your looking for some sweet comp speakers without the bose price tag.. pick 'em up...

I have had the Promedias for over a year now and they perform as well as they did when they were first puilled out of the box. The model I have is the wireless one and it performs flawlessly at distances of up to 30 feet from the setup. If you are looking for a pair of speakers that can deliver excellent sound at volume levels at are just flat out very loud then these will satisfy your needs. I have read a review from a parent who bought his sons these units for college use and was somewhat depressed because both pairs of speakers blew out within a few weeks of each other. Well, come on now!!!!! I have a son in college and I know what kind of abuse college students can dish out to their audio equipment. I'll bet you my Klipschorns that the bass was at 100% on the speaker control module and more than likely at max on their computer, and I bet that the volume level was at max too!!! These are terriffic speakers but they are not designed to provide disco level sound. When used properly, they will last for years. Don't blame the product when it fails from being grossly abused!

I'd rate these a 4.5 approximately. Not excellent but better than just good. Great top to bottom. Sound is a nearfield speaker sound. I would not use these to fill a room. But, at a desk or for persons who game very close to their television these would be a good value. Detail is good without being artificially crisp. If you like real bass then the woofer seems to dial in at about a turn of 1/4 to 1/3. So, if you like ridiculous bass, you got a lot of room to work with. I think a person who dabbles in audio or video would find these suitable for sound mixing with not surpassing a 1/3 turn on the woofer knob. If you want something that can move a lot of air and throw sound into a medium size to even large room then you need a bigger speaker. My fave for that application for the home is the JBL 8330.

I have a TV that has absolutely hysterically horrible sound, but luckily it does have a headphone jack. I hooked these speakers up to the TV and was really blown away by the amount of bass that tiny little subwoofer can put out. Granted, I wasn't looking for huge earth-shaking surround sound, but this little set definitely competes with any 2.1 TV add-on speakers / sound bars I've listened to for way less than half the cost. For those of you who might not have a headphone jack or only have a digital out (Digital co-ax, hdmi, or toslink/optical), purchase an inexpensive Digital to Analog converter for your application, usually around $30 or less, and save the expense of buying an audio reciever, and save a lot of space too! Of course if Klipsch ever added a digital connection to these speakers, whoa!!! These compact speakers and tiny subwoofer are super easy to accomodate, no matter how tight the space. I'm definitely very pleased with this purchase.

I've been using Klipsch ProMedia speakers for well over a decade now. I've had them all. They've changed the cables and connections every now and again, added and dropped a 4.1 and 5.1 surround system option, and fiddled with some amp settings once every few years. I've had every iteration of this product, and they have all been just as good as the first, even with the occasional wiring changes. Now, you'll see plenty of other popular gaming speakers on the market, if that's what you're looking for. Some will even have received rave reviews from publications and websites you know and trust. Shockingly, you might not find these speakers on those sites... Why? Well, I suppose people finally ran out of words to describe these things. That, and Klipsch isn't pandering to the media. These were receiving those same rave reviews in 1999 when they were first released! Sixteen years ago, before many of the people reading this were even born, when average computer owners still kept a DOS partition on their hard drive, these speakers were cleaning house in magazines the world over. They've lasted longer than many of those magazines... Indeed, I still have my first set, and they still work fine. I use them in another room for house audio now. They're just as good for movies and music. Indeed, many of the bands you enjoy today mastered their first self-produced albums on Klipsch ProMedia speakers, and these are what you'll still find on their desks. In all cases, the speakers have always been the best on the market. I don't mean I just liked the things, either... I mean they were the BEST from a quantitative standpoint. Nobody has yet touched their territory, and only Corsair has come anywhere near it. I'll list the single "con" now. It sounds like something that might be a bother, but it isn't. I assure you, you'll just ignore it when it happens. For all the changes Klipsch has made over the years, they've kept the same volume control. It gets finicky over time around the 1/4 mark. Klipsch is more than happy to send you another when that happens, though, and I've always just adjusted my PC volume so I'm not using that first quarter. Trust me, the speakers are worth that little issue. Games, movies, music; everything will be powerful and clear. You don't need to spend hours with an equalizer to level them, as the speakers are very flat right out of the box. They've been manufacturing these things for so long that the drivers (the actual cones and tweeters) are essentially perfect. I've seen them used as reference monitors in studios, and in home theater systems. I've personally used them for their primary purpose, as I've stated, for over a decade. They aren't the most modern-looking speakers on the market, and they don't carry a fancy advertising campaign to go with them. What they bring to the table is sound. Isn't that what you're after? Sound? These may not be the most well-known speakers on the market, either, but at this price, there's no excuse to buy anything else. Unless you are going to hook up a stack of amps and tower speakers to your computer, this is the BEST YOU CAN GET. Period.

This item lasted less than 6 months. Contacted Best Buy in OKC where I bought it and was not able to have it replaced. Item is now sitting in the attic wishing it could be doing something a lot more like “working”! Had to purchase another sound system similar to this one and also bought a 4 year warranty plan with it. $139.00 - down the drain and not able to get it back, thanks Best Buy. Besides that, I still use and will continue to buy my electronics from Best Buy.

I bought this pair of speakers when I graduated college in 2007, so it's been about 8 years so far. During that time these speakers have moved 6 times, dealt with gaming on my PC, movies on my TV, and now they are in my basement to use with our treadmill - and they still sound amazing. I know the price is a little steep, but believe me these will last quite awhile, and the sound quality is out of this world. I used to get in trouble with these speakers, with the bass down as long as it could go, for rattling my neighbors walls watching movies. Get these, you won't regret it!

I just bought these speakers about 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, the first set blew out in about 2 days-- but Best Buy stood by their product by giving me a new set without any problem at all.. These speakers sound awesome. They have PLENTY of deep bass-- mine are set somewhere around 20% (there's a mark on the dial, and from what I can tell, that's the recommended setting)-- believe me, you won't need to go much higher than that even when playing action movies or video games with a lot of gun fire and explosions in them. I love the Klipsch brand name. It represents great speaker engineering that has been around several decades now. I've heard the Bose® - Companion® 3 Series II Multimedia Speaker System (3-Piece) on display while shopping for these Klipsch & although those speakers sound quite good, too-- I couldn't justify the additional $100 for those speakers. Now, I'm not bashing Bose-- in fact, I own & enjoy my Bose® - 3•2•1® GS Series III DVD Home Entertainment System quite a bit-- but, as many others have already stated-- Bose are always more expensive and real audiophiles almost always choose something else instead of Bose in the long run. I especially like the large sound that comes from these small speakers. They look great-- especially sitting next to my laptop where the gold /orange & black logo matches my orange lights and orange / black carbon laptop case-- very sexy, indeed!!! The one thing that is odd is that Klipsch decided to forgo the power switch on their newest model. I've asked Klipsch if it was O.K. to leave them on all the time & they said that it was their intention to do so as these speakers use so little power by keeping them on all the time. I've had them on ever since & haven't been worried about them at all. I suppose that people can use a power strip that has an On/ Off switch on it-- but that's probably just a matter of preference. Oh, I almost forgot-- I was pleasantly surprised when these speakers went on sale this week. The good folks over at Best Buy were more than willing to give me a refund of the difference between the regular price & the sale price. That made my buying decision all that much sweeter!!! Buy these speakers. Take good care of them. Enjoy them for many years. It's going to be a very looooong time before something comes out that sound any better than these do for what you pay for them.
