I recently set this subwoofer up as part of a new speaker system from Klipsch. My wife mocked me when I said the system sounded and felt great. She didn’t believe I could “feel” the sound coming from the subwoofer. That is, she mocked me until I fired up her favorite movies to show her how powerful the Klipsch Reference Series 101SW - 10’ Subwoofer is. Apartment residents beware, this sub could lead to an eviction notice in your future. It’s loud. It’s powerful. It’s awesome. During music and movie playback, this subwoofer rocks the house. It sounds and feels great. In terms of floor space required, it’s a bit bigger than I expected, but I love this subwoofer. Klipsch makes amazing sounding speakers and the Klipsch Reference Series 101SW – 10’ Subwoofer is another fine speaker. I received the Klipsch Series 101SW – 10’ as a part of a Klipsch Reference package containing Series 50M Bookshelf Speakers, Series 30C Center Channel Speaker, Series 600F Floor Standing Speakers, Series 40SA Surround Sound Speakers, and an Onkyo - TX – NR6100 7.2 Channel THX Certified Network A/V Receiver. The entire package was perfectly balanced, and, despite being just one part of a powerful sound system, the 101SW definitely shook the house a bit and I doubt the system would have been as good without it. The back of the subwoofer comes with a few different knobs and toggles. The “Gain” knob is essentially a volume control for the device. “Low Pass” allows you to set the crossover frequency of the subwoofer. As for which setting to set “Low Pass”, the opinions I sought out seemed to be dependent on personal preference and the size of your existing speakers. 80hz is the THX standard. However, if your speakers are smaller or if you personally find 120hz to sound better, then I don’t believe there is a “wrong” answer here. There is a “Phase” toggle on the back of the speaker. I left the toggle on 0. However, whether you want the toggle on 0 or 180 is going to come down a lot to your system and how the sub works with your existing speakers. If you notice the bass on the sub cancelling out the bass from your other speakers, you may want to experiment with the 180 degree setting. The sub is equipped for RCA or LFE inputs. Most receivers now have LFE outputs and that was how I set the system up. The sub takes up a decent footprint for a 10’ subwoofer. It has a depth of about 20 inches, stands about 15 inches, and is roughly 14 inches wide. With surround sound systems, the subwoofer is an important component of the system. The Klipsch Reference Series 101SW – 10’ Subwoofer sounds great. It can rock the house and I love it. Easy to recommend. 5/5

The Klipsch R-101-SW, like the rest of Klipsch reference line, is a beautiful speaker with a great build quality. They all pair visually and audibly well with one another. I have the sub setup with: Onkyo TX-NR6100 7.2 Channel THX Certified Network A/V Receiver Klipsch Reference Series 600F Floor Standing Speaker (2) Klipsch Reference Series 40SA Surround Sound Speakers Klipsch Reference Series 30C Center-Channel Speaker Klipsch Reference Series 50M Bookshelf Speakers (2) I was eyeing the 12' subwoofer to start, but ending up going with the 10' for the room I have to play with in my space. I can say this subwoofer does not dissapoint, it has a presence that you can feel and give you such a hard hitting boom that I can't complain about with playing games, watching movies or blasting music. The boom when you get a parrying strike is so satisfying with this sub! I haven't tried isolating this speaker so I can't really speak of the details. I love music, and that double bass! I am however not an audiophile where I could give about giving you any specifics to the speakers capabilities. However, I can say that I am looking forward to getting a ton of use out of this subwoofer, for my space this fits well and does not disappoint (even the 10') regardless of the media I consume!

I'm loving this subwoofer, I thought I had a great subwoofer in the past (those smaller ones that come included with a value home theater), but oh boy, I was so wrong! This thing is a beast, and is build like one. Its heavy and so powerful. It truly makes my place move and the bass is clear and without any distortion. It's not that big width wise, it's more of wider front to back, almost like a rectangle. It can handle a freq range of 29.5hz to 120 hz. I have set my crossover to 80hz so it catches freqs that my other speakers don't handle. It has a powerful amplifier and plugs to power. The driver is front firing and It has a small LED on the front to indicate whether its on or off. On the back you will find a low pass and phase control, LFE input and volume (named gain). The power switch has 3 positions (on, off or auto). I love the auto position, as it only turns on (automatically) if it receives any signal from your receiver, so it also turns automatically off, thus saving you power. The sound is clear and phenomenal, its plenty enough for a small to a medium place (heck, even a large one, is that powerful). Honestly, if you live in an apartment, this is not for you, your neighbors will complain! (jokes aside, you can tune the volume at your preference).

During my most recent home audio upgrade, I was given the opportunity to replace my current set with a newer Klipsch Reference Series line of Speakers. In the box you’ll find the Klipsch 101SW, a power cable, and some product & warranty documentation. The back of the unit has an auto power and phase toggle switch, a gain & loss pass dial, and line in inputs for connection to your Receivers Sub Outs. Set up was fairly simple, as I paired this with an entire Reference Series set, and a new Onkyo Receiver with Dolby Atmos compatibility. For my use, I had the gain and low pass set to the middle of the dial, as this offered the best response with no distortion. Compared to my previous Klipsch Sub, this was a nice upgrade. The included power cable doesn’t require a specific orientation, making it easy to plug in. There is also a faint green LED light when the subwoofer is powered on, which can be viewed through the mesh grill, making it easy to confirm it's on. Overall, compared to others, this is probably been the absolute best Subwoofer I’ve ever had the pleasure to own, and it’s complimented my audio setup nicely. The sub offers a high quality look, and awesome audio for any home theater system.

This review is for the following 7.1 setup: Onkyo TX-NR6100 receiver Klipsch R-101SW subwoofer Klipsch R-30C - center Klipsch R-40SA - height surround Klipsch R-50M - back surround Klipsch R-600F - front speakers It was time to upgrade my 20 year old 5.1 system that didn't really have much bass to the latest technology. Let me just tell you, huge difference. This has got to be the best 10" subwoofer I have ever heard. It completely fills the whole room with bass. No weird distortions from the speaker or box, Just awesome bass. You can control the bass with the gain and low pass knobs on the back to get the perfect punch that you want. You can also put it on standby mode so that it will shut off if it doesn't detect any sound. Speakers arrived on a palette. The boxes made them seem larger but it was just good packaging. The grill came with some packing behind them for protection. The grill is also magnetic except on the subwoofer, so they are really easy to remove and put back on. On the back of the R-600F it has two connections at the bottom. The main and the height. You can connect your R-40SA with supplied cables to the Dolby Atmos connection in one of the pictures as long as you have wires running to the height connection at the bottom. I have included pictures that show the vinyl up close and they look great with the copper colored speakers. The tweeters on these speakers let you stand anywhere in the room and still get about the same awesome sound. The copper colored speakers provide a nice mid-range. Each speaker on its own doesn't do much but when you combine them all it is audio bliss. Sounds just come from every where while watching a movie and the explosions make you feel like you are in the scene. I can actually hear things in songs I didn't hear before. Even at high levels they still sound great. You will not regret this purchase. Really happy to own this setup.

This product was very easy to install. The sound of the bass is great. I can feel it thru my man cave. I’m still working on the perfect settings but still I’m not disappointed.

This thing is MASSIVE. HOLY COW I didnt realize how big this thing was when I ordered it. I was looking for a subwoofer that pairs with my powered bookshelf speakers and this one was recommended. I hooked it up and the bass from this device not only filled the whole room but you could hear it from the other end of the house! It took to tweaking and adjusting to get everyrhing dialed in correctly but it sounds really good. If I am watching a movie sometimes I turn the bass down a little so it doesn't drown out the dialogue, but if I am listening to music I turn the bass back up and it fills the entire room and sounds really good. This is a good subwoofer just be aware of how big it is. I had to rearrange my home theatre setup to accommodate it.

The Klipsch Reference Series 10-inch subwoofer is an impressive performer that brings rich, room‑filling low end without overwhelming your setup. Setup is simple — plug it in, connect your LFE/sub-out, adjust the crossover and gain, and you're ready to go. Once dialed in, the subwoofer blends nicely with both home theater systems and 2‑channel music setups. Movie explosions hit with weight and authority, while music gains warmth and depth, especially in the lower mid‑bass. Overall, the Klipsch Reference Series 10" 150W subwoofer offers excellent value for the performance it delivers. Whether you're enhancing movies, gaming, or music listening, it’s a powerful and reliable upgrade that adds real impact without breaking the bank.

Firstly, I love this subwoofer. I purchased it for $350 on a sale. For reference, I've read other reviews that people were able to purchase this for $300. It sounds amazing when you can turn up the volume and also at quieter levels for when your neighbors are sleeping. The subwoofer elevates all genres of music. Linkin Park, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Dead Club City, Ed Sheeran, Our Last Night, Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto, HAIM, Billie Elish etc. The subwoofer is fairly large and takes up a lot of space. I highly recommend you make sure your setup can accommodate this. I sadly ended up returning the subwoofer in plans of getting the 12" version or saving up for the 12" premiere sub. Time will tell. This subwoofer definitely packs a huge punch and would make a great addition to an entry to mid tier home setup.

Replaced a Boston Accoustic 10” for this, and could not be anymore satisfied and happier. The quality of the bass and response is a huge step up. My previous enclosed sub was down firing so wanted to try something different and I’m glad the experience of trying a forward firing was as rewarding as this. Highly recommend. The setup was easy that even my son could have done it. It was an open box item, but I’d do it all over again because it was flawless.

The speaker sounds great. Nice low end. Easy to set the levels on it. Do yourself a favor and buy two of them for dual subs.

This subwoofer has amazing quality and power. It routinely shakes my house with sounds. More impressively though, it has the highest quality sound I've heard. If I close my eyes, while listening to jazz, it sounds like someone is playing double bass in the room with me. I would know, I am a double bassist. If you're looking for a remarkable subwoofer, this is it.

First off, I have been a fan of Klipsch for a long time, so I had no hesitation in purchasing this. However, we ultimately chose this one over other brands because the surrpund sound we had at our house required a receiver and the speakers were not Bluetooth compatible, so we really needed a subwoofer that had a wired option. This was one of the few that were actually available. The sounds quality is incredible, as with all Klipsch products I've purchased in the past.
