Got these on a black Friday sale for under $220+tx for the pair. Paired them with a Wiim Amp Ultra. No complaints with the sound, clear lows, mids, and highs. Bass without a sub is ok but won't be boomy. When paired with an entry level Klipsch sub made for a very adequate 2.1 system for small to medium sized rooms. I cranked the volume on them to max level with the Wiim Amp Ultra and when testing (briefly) they reached up to the high 80s in terms of decibels. Played lots of music with them, classic rock, metal, country, pop, rap. All sounded good. Did not test them with movies at all. Only reason I still don't have them is I decided to go with floor-standers instead. But for someone who wants something better than a soundbar without spending a ton of money, get these and a suitable amp and you're all set.

The Bookshelf Speakers by Klipsch help set the mood for your audio and visual experience. The appearance of the speakers adds a touch of elegance to any room. I have been using these speakers for a home theater setup with surround, floor, center and a sub and I must say that I am truly impressed. The speakers help create the surround sound that is exceptionally clear and crisp. The bookshelf speaker is a two-speaker system but sounds like one, with a rear firing port for your bass. I am using these speakers with the Onkyo AV receiver and they integrated with the system seamlessly. These speakers when combined with the Reference Series Floor, Surround and Center will enhance your listening pleasure and take your movies and gaming experience to another level. The music and the movies, everything sounds so much better, everything is just so much crisper and clearer and clean to give you a better immersive experience. I did find myself being lost in the music just because how amazing the sound quality was. You can distinctly hear the different instruments, the ranges, the pitches, the highs and the lows. I would recommend these speakers to anyone in the market. You will not be disappointed.

Wow, just wow! The sound that comes from these bookshelf speakers is so detailed. I use these as my surrounds in my 5.1.2 setup. I have them set at a level of 0.00 and a distance of 8.0 feet from my theater chair. They blend in so well with the overall sound. The horn tweeter is excellent. It produces a crystal clear accuracy of the highs and midrange. The woofer is very tight and produces a nice mid-bass to low end. Combined, these drivers produce a very well rounded and clear sound that doesn't lack in detail. Every bullet that flew by or car crash that happened off screen was heard in great detail. The voices of people talking and background chatter was noticeable and made the movies and TV shows I watched very realistic. I have owned other speakers at the same price point and they did not compare to these at all. The style is very simple yet modern. It holds up nice in my living room and doesn't seem to be an eye soar. The magnetic grilles are fantastic and make removing the grilles so easy compared to traditional plastic pegs. The look of the drivers are nice and that copper color Klipsch is known for always makes me smile. Overall, this pair of speakers really delivers and is definitely a best bang for your buck. Great job Klipsch!

Klipsch has been known for making high quality speakers for both Home Audio and even for PC with relatively few design changes. My previous Klipsch speaker setup was several years old, and were used in a home cinema I’d set up in dedicated movie room. They were small, but effective when paired with a good subwoofer and receiver. In the box you’ll find two Klipsch Bookshelf Speakers, a setup guide, and warranty information. As I received this with other Reference Series Speakers, I was happy to see these had the same cork style padding on the bottom to help keep the speaker from shifting around on your shelf. The speakers allow for the use of Banana plugs or you can screw the cables into place. I paired this with a newer Onkyo receiver, and other Klipsch Reference Series speakers. I was happy to see the speaker grills are magnetically attached, making it easy to remove the grill for future dust removal and cleaning. I used these bookshelf speakers as my rear surround sounds, and have been happy with the sound quality so far. They compliment the rest of the Reference Series speakers well. Ultimately, the bookshelf have provided much clearer sound than my previous Klipsch set. When paired with other Reference Series speakers, it really elevates the home theater experience. The speakers are painted black, with a wood exterior, and is a bit on the larger size for bookshelf speakers, but should fit most applications well. Given the size of the speakers, I imagine these would be great as stereo speakers for a small amp with a phono player, and definitely work well as surround sounds.

Great Surround Speakers With Huge Sound

OVERVIEW The Klipsch R-50M surround speakers are very good, with huge sound in a moderately compact size that adds huge sound to the back of your theater setup. They also feature a design aesthetic that fits in with nearly any theater setup. DESIGN As with Klipsch's other new speakers from the redesigned Reference series, the R-50M speakers feature a classy and understated look that ensure it'll blend in in most scenarios. The finish is a semi-gloss wood-grained vinyl finish that looks good, with a cork bottom that helps with both slippery-ness and sound transfer dampening. Additionally, the speaker grille is attached via hidden magnets, meaning no ugly grommet/plug systems that beg you to leave the grille on. Behind the grille, you'll see the signature golden/bronzed Klipsch mid/low driver along with the small golden section inside the horn. Overall, the speaker looks great both with and without the grille. They're somewhat sizable, but they'll mostly in line with mid-sized bookshelf speakers of the kind. Though you can't nest these away in a corner, this sizing nets you a huge benefit in terms of sound quality. SOUND QUALITY Simply put, the R-50M speakers sound great. These very easily could suffice for many applications as front speakers given their frequency response and large sound space. They sound amazing at both movies/TV and music. To run them through their paces, I first fired up some of my favorite records, setting my system to "all surround" to allow all the speakers to throw sound. Regardless of the album or genre, the R-50Ms sounded great, projecting a precise high-end (likely the result of Klipsch's new tweeters included in the Reference series), with a smooth rolloff that's transitions seamlessly to the mid/low driver's range. These don't have a particularly large amount of bass, but they shouldn't; that's not the point of bookshelf style speakers. They have enough bass to fill the void that's generally picked up by larger speakers or subwoofers, but they truly excel at the low-mid to high frequencies. And they're equally well represented watching movies. Watching a few of my favorite action movies (like John Wick 3), I was constantly amazed at how steady and present the R-50M surrounds were. In many cases, surround speakers serve as utilitarian purpose whereby they give you sound in the back that's decent but that generally doesn't hold a candle to your front speakers in terms of frequency response and sound quality. That is definitely not the case here. The sound space transition from my front speakers (Klipsch's new R800 floor standing speakers) to these surrounds is seamless. They almost sound too good to be relegated to surrounds to be honest. CONCLUSION These are great surround speakers that could also serve as your front speakers. The frequency response and output is amazing, leaving little to be desired as surrounds that hold their own with much larger front speakers. Teamed with the classy design aesthetic, these should be a serious consideration for anyone looking to upgrade their home theater.

Amazing bookshelf speakers. They can be used as front speakers if you want, however in my case, with floor standing front ones, they get used as surround speakers, and oh wow, what a huge difference they make! Most people skimp on the surround speakers and only place small tweeters on the back, and that's ok...But if you want the fullest sound, upgrade to these! They are amazing and apart from producing clear higher pitched sounds, they have clear and amazing bass too! Their freq response is 58hz-21khz, so I have set my crossover with these at 60hz, and oh wow, the quality and punch of the sound they produce and the bass is amazing (your subwoofer will still handle lower freqs, but that doesn't mean if your other speakers are capable of some bass, they shouldn't, if they can, as these, they should, let them free!). These are wide, so remember to have some sturdy and wide enough speaker stands, I had to buy a couple for these and they sit right and lef of our couch). Don't be afraid of the power, since they're are supposed to be near your ears as surround speakers, you can tune their level and distance with your receiver and they will still produce amazing sound without hurting you!

Finally got to replace my ageing 10+yr old Bose bookshelf speakers with the Klipsch 50Ms and I couldn't be any more pleased. These came in part of a whole 7.1 package and am currently using them as my surround Left and Rights. In the box comes the pair of reference speakers and the usual paperwork. I love the look of the black cabinets and the optional grille if you want to show off the copper cones. According to my tape measure the length is 7", width is 8.25" and height is ~14, though I will add you might want to add about an inch to the width to account for the wire screws in the back. Weighs roughly a little over 10 lbs each. I am using these as my surround sound Left and Right speakers on a pair of speaker stands by my living room couch. Setting is up is super simple and the sounds are on point. Clarity is everything when watching a Blu-ray or streaming and sounds like things are literally to my left and right. These can easily handle being the fronts on a smaller 2.1 setup. Build quality is top notch. These bookshelf speakers are a perfect compliment to a 5.1 or larger setup.

Crystal clear sounding rear speaker additions

Having been a long time Klipsch speaker owner and knowing what their craftsmanship and experience in the speaker business, I was excited for our new upgrade to our 20+ year Klipsch system. I had the new Klipsch Reference Series 50M bookshelf speakers slated as rear speaker additions to our existing Klipsch surround sound system paired with their dual 8” tower speakers and Atmos speakers. They sound crystal clear and provided just enough rear sound for how our system was set up. However, I also wanted to see what these things could handle so I decided to try them in the multi-channel stereo sound with some loud music and I was pleasantly surprised at how much power these could handle along with sounding great at high volume. Not only do they sound fantastic, they look great as well with their black wood grain looking MDF surrounding Klipsch’s recognizable copper driver and relatively enormous, beautifully clear sounding, horn style tweeter. I would recommend these to anyone in the market for not only rear speakers but could also be used for other bookshelf style set ups for music or a Zone 2.

The Klipsch R-50-M is are beautiful speakers with a great build quality, they got a great sound that really gives a strong presence in my setup as my rear speakers. I have this set up with: Onkyo TX-NR6100 7.2 Channel THX Certified Network A/V Receiver Klipsch Reference Series 600F Floor Standing Speaker (2) Klipsch Reference Series 30C Center-Channel Speaker Klipsch Reference Series 40SA Surround Sound Speakers Klipsch Reference Series 101SW – 10’ Subwoofer The whole setup pairs wonderfully, I love the universal accents that Klipsch has brought into this line. The speakers sit well enough on speaker stands in my setup as rears, they have enough presense to stand out and present the sounds happening behind you even with the row of speakers up front blasting audio into the room. They do not dissapoint! I haven't tried isolating this speaker so I can't really speak of the details. I love music, but not an audiophile where I could give you any specifics to the speakers capabilities. However, I can say that I am looking forward to getting a ton of use out of this speaker, for my space this fits well and does not disappoint regardless of the media I consume!

Upon unwrapping the sleek packaging of the Klipsch Bookshelf Speakers, my excitement was palpable. Panic momentarily set in, but after a bit of research and a touch of resourcefulness, my journey with these speakers took an unexpected turn for the better. At first glance, the speakers exude a minimalist charm that seamlessly blends with any décor. The absence of wires in the package left me momentarily puzzled, but a quick visit to the user manual and an online search revealed that Klipsch opted for a wire-free setup, providing users with the flexibility to choose their preferred cables. The build quality of the speakers is remarkable. Crafted with precision, the sturdy cabinets house high-quality drivers that promise a dynamic and immersive audio experience. Setting them up was a breeze once I acquired the necessary cables, and their compact size made them a perfect fit for my bookshelf. Sound quality is where these speakers truly shine. The clarity and depth they deliver are nothing short of spectacular. Whether I'm immersing myself in a symphony or indulging in the beats of my favorite playlist, the Klipsch Bookshelf Speakers reproduce audio with exceptional fidelity. The bass response is surprisingly robust for speakers of this size, adding a satisfying thump to every beat. What initially seemed like an inconvenience turned into a blessing in disguise. The absence of included wires allowed me to customize my setup with high-quality cables tailored to my preferences. This flexibility, coupled with the stellar audio performance, has made me appreciate these speakers even more. The midrange frequencies are rich and warm, vocals are articulate, and the treble is crisp without being harsh. The speakers manage to create a spacious soundstage, making me feel like I'm in the midst of a live performance right in my living room. In conclusion, the Klipsch Bookshelf Speakers are a testament to the brand's commitment to delivering exceptional audio experiences. Had to grab these as an xmas gift for adult daughter setting up an actual traditional sound system (i.e., nothing Bluetooth or satellite sourced). She inherited her grandpa's excellent components, but his speakers were inside the walls. We have been fans & owners of Klipsch horns since my first pair in the late 70s, so we know the quality & love the sound. The price for this pair was unbelievably low, so I jumped on it. Daughter & her spouse are beyond thrilled, & now their system is complete!

Purchased for 400 usd which for these speakers is a bit high. Still these are very clear with some decent bass. For video I would recommend a sub to go with this but for music the bass seems just right. Highs are clear and miss are decent. These are rated at around 75w and do need a good amount of power to bring them out. Not a lot of warmth to these speakers but the sound is nonetheless true. Love the look of these. I use them with the grills off.
