There aren't too many movies that deal with the Live Action Role Playing Genre out there, besides this one the only one I can think of in the last few years would be Role Models. That said, this is a low budget, direct to DVD release film that somehow lands several established actors. The plot is your basic man finds a book and unleashes evil type film (kind of like Evil Dead) but still found a way to work in a lot of comedy. Peter Dinklage does a great job in his role and carries the film for the bulk off it IMO, however the supporting cast did a nice job of being interesting and playing their roles well so that you didn't notice any real talent fall off once you stepped away from the main characters. If you enjoy fantasy comedies or even LARP based movies you'll probably enjoy this one. Grab the one from BB as their version (I believe) is the only one that comes in both DVD and BD formats.

If you have ever loved a "nerdy" Genre show anywhere on TV, odds are one of its stars is in this movie! Serenity, True Blood, Came of Thrones, Community, Buffy.... They are all here and are top notch! If you can wrap your head around the concept of L.A.R.P.ing (live action role playing) then you are bound to love this movie! Between it's A+ cast, original story line and practical effects, there's really no way you can go wrong with this movie. Other than being chincy on the special features I can't find a fault with this blu ray at all. If you understand the subject matter of what your getting ready to watch and expect nothing more than a fun little movie staring people that you already love from other things, you will not be disappointed! Enjoy!

Loved this movie. All the comedy and funny I expected from this crew was definitely there. The trailers and commercials don't really do a good job of preparing you for the amount of gore the movie has though, so it can catch you off guard if you aren't expecting it. I don't have a problem with gore, but some of the folks I had invited over to watch it were a little put off by it. It isn't so bad that it takes away from the movie though, and everyone stuck it out and enjoyed the show. Definitely recommended if you're a fan of anything fantasy/medieval, LARPing or even Peter Dinklage.

A very funny horror movie I like joe lynch as a director but the producers butchered this flim

Peter Dinklage is the man! And so is Summer Glau. Seriously though. The plot could be better, but it's been a great film to watch when you're a little bored. It's filled with great one-liners, and some intense action sequences. It was unexpectedly graphic, but there are worse problems to have in an action or fantasy film.

Clearly done on a low budget, the movie is still fun for people that like movies in the genre. If you go in with the knowledge and expectation that this is not a huge blockbuster, then you'll enjoy it as it should be. Excellent cast by the way!

It starts out promising but the story kinda goes downhill and the final demon sucks but Peter dinkledge is awesome and anyone who LARPs and knows where it's coming from will find it hilarious.

I bought this not knowing too much about it because one of my buddies is actually in the movie so I had to check it out. It actually turned out to be a fun little flick if you like ridiculous, over the top type of movies. Could have been a little better however as it seemed to fall short in a few areas that kept it from achieving greatness.

Funny as all get out for those who enjoy geekdom and horror film parodies... a bit gory for little kids, but teens and up will likely enjoy it.

Awesome movie if you enjoy the atmosphere they play in. The actors involved do a great job keeping it cool under such a goofy premise.

The cover and cast sold me at the store. I watched it a couple days later and found it familiar but not a carbon copy of anything else I've seen. The effects team behind this movie did a great job with practical effects. The cast is all somewhat noticeable in the film/tv world. Very interesting take on the story come the end.

Very odd but enjoyable, it is a good movie to just sit back and have a fun ride.

If you do not go in expecting this to be some big comedy like Ted or an action movie like Underworld then you should enjoy this movie. It is to Larping Movies what Community is for TV Shows. NOT FOR KIDS, some of the deaths are more graphic than we expected but not near some other movies that are popular.

My husband saw and immediately had to have it. It's mindless entertainment. Some gore and laughs but as I like to say I need some crackers to go with this cheese.

I loved this movie. It's so funny and totally speaks to the nerd in me. It has aspects that speak to LARPers, gamers, and fantasy buffs alike. This movie makes me want to take up sword fighting and join a local guild.

Are you a LARPer or Gamer? Know someone who is? This movie is a hoot and will appeal to all the "proud to be nerds" out there! With a cast like this, it's hard to go wrong. And if you like cheesy gore...
