3D is fading fast, however if you have the equipment and tv to enjoy this experience, this is a must own. Fantastic 3D depth throughout this fantastic movie. Highly recommend!

Kong is such a monster of a movie with great action and special effects. The Atmos sounds is pretty incredible. Look for that Captain Marvel actress in it as well.

I tried to sneak watch this movie. I was worried my little boy might freak out. however, he watched it with me after he busted me. he enjoyed it almost as much as me!

Kong: Skull Island is just good enough-the sharp allusions, the moments of wit and warmth supplied by Reilly's long-abandoned airman-to make one wish it were better. The CGI Kong is cool.

I already owned this movie on standard Blu-Ray,. and it's an excellent movie. However, if you want a review of the movie, itself, read other reviews (especially those found on the internet, not the Best Buy site). This is purely about the 4K Ultra HD version. Prior to purchasing the 4K version, I was running a 7.1-channel system, with side & rear surround speakers. I recently upgraded my system to utilize the Dolby Atmos feature of my receiver, and it has made an INCREDIBLE difference. Just so you know, I am playing the movies on a Sony UBP‑X800, and the audio (and video switching) is handled by a Sony STR-DN1080. I disconnected the rear surround speakers, rerouted the wires, and used them for the Dolby Atmos speakers. Within the receiver’s setup utility, I activated Sony's "PhantomSound", which, through some digital trickery I haven't bothered attempting to understand (yet, as I plan to research this), it uses the side surround speakers to "trick" you into believing you also have the rear surround speakers still attached. In other words, while I'm actually running a 5.1.2-channel configuration, your ears WILL believe (if your system is properly calibrated) you are listening to the movie’s audio through a 7.1.2-channel system (front, center, Dolby Atmos, side surround, rear surround, & subwoofer). I’ve already watched two movies, and it’s almost identical to watching a movie in a movie theater, as you are COMPLETELY surrounded by audio.

I use to watch this kind of movies with my dad when I was a kid, so it brought back fond memories of my dad. I think he would have like this movie.

Get ready for an adventure. ESPECIALLY if you have Dolby atmos in your home. At least 5.1.2. This movie itself is good and the mix for the is incredible.

I missed this movie when it was at the theaters and I really like the King Kong movies. Glad I bought it and have watched it multiple times now.

Kong Skull Island is a fresh take on a familial movie property that actually gets it right. The film begins at the end of WWII, and then the story picks up at the end of the Vietnam war. The film centers around an expedition team whom several of its members have hidden agendas as to why they are there. The story is pretty straight forward, what you would expect from a monster movie. The monsters are what you came to see and they do not disappoint. The CGI is flawless. It is truly amazing to see the jungle scenes and all of the different creatures blended seamlessly together. The video and audio are top notch, while the special features are pretty decent as well. If you are looking for a demo worthy disc with a pretty decent story with a lot of action, I would highly recommend this movie
