I was hesitant about this show when I first heard about it, but after watching the pilot a few months ago (for free on VUDU) I was pretty excited to watch the rest of the season. Of course I waited until the Blu-ray was released, and purchased it day 1 at Best Buy... I've already binge watched the entire season (using my 1080p projector and 100" screen), and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The picture quality was great, and even on my 100" screen the CGI/effects looked very good (for a TV show at least)! I already can't wait to watch the second season, but I will most likely wait for the Blu-ray release of that as well (hopefully it gets one!). Once again I would definitely recommend picking this up if you are a fan of Superman and/or DC Comics!

This new series of Superman’s origin has met or exceeded most fans’ wild expectations. It’s actually about his grand daddy who started the house of El. It’s worthwhile if one is craving for more understanding of Superman.

It's the one DC show that ain't on the CW or DC Universe...I think. Since I don't have basic cable, this set was my first introduction to the show and it did not disappoint. It stars Superman's grandpa and a bunch of other characters you never even thought about (well except for Zod...who is also the Green Arrow's ex-stepfather) but somehow it works. Adam Strange goes back in time for some reason or other, possibly to prove he's better than a C-list Justice Leaguer and he and Super-gramps try to work with Zod while also trying to stop Zod. Oh, and there's lots of Zods in this series. But it's a fun show with a good mix of action and drama, so I dig it. So, settle in your own fortress of solitude and sit back and watch Krypton.

After being disappointed by SMALLVILLE, I had low hopes for this one. And I was more than pleasantly surprised! By telling the story of Superman's grandfather, Seg-El (as in Jerry Seigel; very clever, show), everything is available. The show has nothing but fertile ground to plow, and they're plowing away. I'm also enjoying the Game of Thrones influence, what with the politics of ancient Krypton. And the fact that Seg-El's grandfather, Val-El, is played by Ian McElhinney, the same actor who played Barristan Selmy on that show, is just the icing on the cake. Cameron Cuffe, the actor who plays Seg-El himself, definitely has my attention. Even if he isn't actually playing Kal-El himself, he really makes you believe that the House of El would produce the world's greatest hero.

In all of the comics, movies, cartoons and shows through the years, we've only ever had small glimpses and short scenes that took place on Krypton, the planet Superman was born on. Finally we get to see what the culture was like; the political, scientific, religious and military factions and families, and how they affected, not just Kal-El (aka, Clark Kent/Superman) but many other famous characters in the DC Universe. The story is set many years before Kal-El was born. The main character is a young man from the House of El (the family Kal-El is from), and he will eventually become Kal-El's grandfather. I'm excited to see where this show goes from here. If you are a Superman fan...well, then you've probably already seen this show! But, if you haven't yet...WATCH this show!

I was skeptical of this show at first, even though I always liked the thought of them exploring the world of Krypton, but when they announced it, I was like no way. But after watching the first season, I really liked it. They are actually doing characters better than they have previous shows have explored, like Brainiac, which will lead into the second season, which will also include Doomsday & Lobo. So if you're a fan of Superman, which he is not a feature in the show of course, and really want to see an in depth look at his home planet, I would definitely give this show a watch.

With the new season starting the next week, I was anxious to review the First season to be familiar with the subplots. Not available very many places. Walked right past it in the limited space allowed for videos now at the Lincoln store. Also some question as to the price advertised on the web. Was able to skip to the last episode and therefore not be too in the dark when season 2 began. Unfortunate it is not available in a combo pack, limiting how I can watch it.

Awesome show especially if you are a Superman fan. The show gives you awesome background on the house of L and Zod. It begins to go deep into the Kandor’s history especially when it comes to Brainiac. The show is focuses a lot on Superman’s grandfather when he is young and also the origin of Superman’s enemies General Zod and Doomsday. Great show, it’s a must see.

This series is far apart from what’s expected from a Superman series. This particular series follows Superman’s Grandfather. There's a time traveling villain that wants to prevent the birth of Superman by killing off his family. So needles to say there’s a lot to take in as this series demonstrates things that haven’t been seen before in Superman’s cannon.

Taking place centuries before Superman arrived on Earth, the story of Kryptonians in a political war and Kal-El's grandfather in the middle of it is the basis for this show. It's an interesting premise (seeing as how no one has super powers on Krypton) and it is an enjoyable show with some thriller aspects. The Blu-ray quality is very good (as is the case for Warner).

Krypton is to Superman what Gotham is to Batman. It builds the mythos of the Man of Steel before he is even a thought. It has a great premise, which I won't ruin, and the production is huge. Im so impressed with how grand this series is. Smallville and Supergirl can't even touch how good this series is. Any Superman fan must see this.

Interesting new take on an old superhero line. Krypton is not about Superman himself, but about his grandfather in the time before the destruction of the planet Krypton. Ordered this season online for store pick-up and received it in excellent condition. It came with the Vudu digital copy of the season as well which I loved.

I've always been a fan of stuff that is comic related so when I heard about this series being done it had me a little bit interested. I sadly wasn't able to catch most of the episodes when they were first aired so its great having the season available to watch. Throw in the great price I got it for it is a good investment!

Ok, this tv series is really about the life of Kal-Els (Superman ) grandgather, long before the planet Krypton exploded . That said, this series explodes with adventure, humor, and enough twists and turns to keep one waiting on the edge of their seat for the next episode. Which I am doing as we await season 2 !

I'm happy that this came out on blu-ray or even out at all. Now a days with Netflix & Amazon, a lot of good shows aren't even seeing the light of day for actual physical copies. So I was happy to find this one. Plus it was on sale (about 50% off)

This is one of the best comic adaptions out there. Actually, it's not a true adaption as it is making up Krypton's pre-Superman history as it goes. My only gripe...Adam Strange is not really true to character. He's actually Booster Gold.

Like Smallville before it...this series covers the family of Kal-El...specifically Kal's grandfather. The house of El is in ruins and a chance meeting with an Earthling with a red cape shows Seg-El that the family crest of El truly means hope.

A solid first season that shows promise by the end

The idea of telling a backstory on Superman's home planet of "Krypton" may sound intriguing so David S. Goyer has decided to tackle this as a series and the end result is solid and definitely shows lots of promise by the end as there's a twist that takes place that's bound to cause lasting effects throughout the rest of the series. The pacing feels a bit uneven despite running only 10 episodes, so here's hoping the writers can do a better job maintaining a steady story for the next season. Overall, I give the first season of "Krypton" a recommendation.

This series is very interesting. In the films, we have gotten a small glimpse of Krypton, but this show gives some delicious backstory. The Blu-ray transfer is crisp and provides some great sound for the fans!
