I toiled with the decision of whether to purchase a smart lock for some time. After a LOT of research, I settled on the Kevo, & I've been quite pleased with my decision. Installation was a breeze, plus you're able to re-key the lock up in a snap (if you want to). The unlock feature works consistently & reliably, but your phone needs to be pretty close to the door. Sometimes I accidentally lock the door if I brush by the lock on my way out. The Kevo+ is a game changer & worth every penny. The ability to remotely lock/unlock the door & see a history is great. Unlimited digital keys to hand out (& remotely revoke) is huge if you have a rental or Airbnb. It's also nice that Kevo integrates with Nest, although not as well as I would like. The separate app is a little clunky & annoying. All in all, this is a great product with tremendous convenience. It lacks only a few details or polishes that would make it 5 stars.

The installing of this luck is a breeze and breeding able to use my old keys is great but, wishing for just a few features like locking or checking the status from your phone would be nice and unlock as you approach would be nice too. Overall my family loves it but I do hope for those added features.

Great lock!! It was easy to install and works great And was able to set it all up through the downloadable app with ease and all the features that the app offers for the lock all work great!! I have yet to use the Fob key that came with it or send out a Digital key to a friend or family either but i have fingers crossed that both will work and be as easy to use for the lucky one who is first to need a key as from the installation to set up and easy of use has been for me as well as the easy of setting the lock to work with the key that i already use instead of adding one And was a surprise that you could do that with the lock a great surprise and was easy to discover it as well as put it to use at this point i can say i have. Great lock that will provide me with the same security as the one it replaced and a whole lot more Love it!!!

The lock was very easy to install. It has worked very well and stayed synced with our phone app. Having to purchase an "electronic key" (on Apple store) for $2 when a $250 lock only comes with credits for a door key was annoying, and my friend had some sync issues making it so I can't give a 5.

I did a lot of online reviewing, just as always...and like you are doing now. I have a home automation hub and looked at what the hubs offer...then found Kevo. I looked at Schlage, August and other options. It's all came down to: 1. Ease of allowing access to others (key code, e-key, etc) 2. Aesthetics of the device (August is HUGE!) 3. Locking/ unlocking ability remotely (Kevo Plus is a big plus) 4. Ease of locking/ unlocking (this one is a simple touch on the outside cover with the key fob or Bluetooth device close enough) The search was on and I learned a lot that I liked and disliked about this and the others. I liked the size of Kevo after the install. The August was a HUGE add-on on the existing deadbolt assembly. The Schlage all had keypads on the outside and some fancy design to choose from. The Kevo...looked just like my existing Kwikset deadbolt on the outside and no keypad to add additional users or have to delete them later. With the Kevo I can send unlimited e-keys to my wife, my tablet, any future maintenance workers, etc... I can also rescind the keys just as quickly as I send them, or even limit access times. I can also get alerts when family members lock or unlock the door, so I know when the kids make it safely (I have security cameras too). I added the Kevo Plus device which was about half the price I paid for the lock, but easily connects to your router and sets up in minutes. Once installed, you can lock/ unlock the door anywhere you have Internet access. Never worry halfway to work again, "Did I lock the door?" Now, what I dislike: Installation was not as clear and easy as it seems. There was a programming portion after the lock is installed to learn left/ right swing doors. The lock grinds and sounds defective, but it's just learning. Just disliked this portion slightly. The biggest issue I have is...you never realize how many times you actually touch the door lock when the door is open. What I mean is that the "easy to lock by a simple touch" becomes annoying when you are walking outside, grabbing the door handle to close it behind you and you accidentally bumped against the lock housing, causing it to lock before you close the door. Minor issue, but I lock it when it is open almost as much as I do when it is closed. Ha! Overall a huge recommend. I like the looks, the upgrade ability, the ease of use and secure feeling of being able to lock the door from literally anywhere.

So convenient to send others a key when you need them to get in your house in a pinch. Love that it expires so you don't have a bunch of people with your key in case you have a fallout. Awesome invention.

Really like this lock from Quickset. Only thing I don't like is that the lock will sometimes auto-lock behind me when walking out of house even though I haven't activated it. I'm sure it has something to do with the proximity of the Bluetooth.

I recently did an automated "smart home" install using an Insteon hub, light switches, outlets, garage door opener, security gate opener, security cameras...the works. The one thing that was lacking was confirming that my doors were locked. I have cameras that face them, but it does no good if I cannot lock/ unlock them remotely. In comes Kevo... I'll add that I purchased the Kevo Plus device directly from Kwikset, which allows me to lock/ unlock the doors from anywhere I have an Internet connection. It ties into your home's wired network and sends a signal to the lock, just like you were standing within range of it. The door lock itself was a replacement for a previous Kwikset deadbolt, so it kept the aesthetics of the first lock, which I liked. I did not want a keypad on my door or some bulky box with a satin finish to make it look nice. The side that is inside is slim and pleasing as well, unlike the August lock that is a HUGE canister that mounts to the existing locking system. Install was quick and easy...pay attention to the left/ right door swing instructions. The lock will make a grinding sound like it is broken, until you follow those instructions and it programs the throw of the lock to the correct direction. I received a key fob and unlimited ekeys to use, which makes it handy with friends, family or maintenance workers who may need access. I can either see people on arrival, open the lock to allow access and lock it at we them, or email an ekey that gives them access. That access can be controlled to either specific times and days or unlimited access. It can also be revoked via the admin person through the app. Highly recommended and will be adding more locks to my setup.

Helps get rid of all those keys in your pocket/purse! It was easy to set up too. Only thing I would change is the app. If I use the app instead of the single Bluetooth key included, you always have to log in. If they went to a faster log in (I.e a pattern or pin) it would be much better...

I really like the lock, and it is SUPER convenient. If you don't have the app running on your phone, it takes longer to open and may not read the first few times touching it.

If it had just a tad more torque or speed, Id absolutely give it five stars. Installation was a breeze, and they did not scrimp on material quality or finish. I love the "across the room" LED letting you know if the deadbolt is in the locked or unlocked position as youre closing up for the night. Its about as cool as it reads, having your phone nearby is enough to give you access. Another con- you have to buy "keys" for your phone after your first two. SO a husband and wife gets one, but you have to pay for every other key after. For the money I paid for this item, I would have expected 4-6 keys before Im buying more. But you can set permissions for the keys, make them limited time of day use, etc.

It works exactly as advertised. I'm happy with my purchase. Only advice, remove the batteries when rekeying with the smart lock system. I promise you, you'll mess the unit up if you don't. If you install and follow instructions as directed, you'll love the unit.

Generally the lock works as advertised with a few exceptions. First, at times it can take 2-3 attempts when either locking or unlocking the door. Second could be a user error but a few time when I've been closing the door the lock has engaged (perhaps I touched the lock when closing it) but the bolt will extend and slam into the door casings. Other than that, I've been very pleased with the locks. Setup was very easy and the ability to grant access to guests via a guest key (then take it back when they leave) is a very useful feature.

We’re not in love with this but it works most of the time. It’s a good backup plan in case we ever forget our keys. Originally we bought it to use mainly for the Bluetooth but it’s a little finicky and I don’t care to stand at the door for a minute while the thing tries to unlock. I would say hat happens about 30% of the time and the rest of the time it works perfectly well. For the price would expect it to work a bit better. Have had it for a year now and the batteries just ran out, which is a good lifespan but you have to disconnect the main product in order to replace. Kind of a hassle

I really, really wanted this product to work well! I was so excited to bring it home and had such high hopes. But soon I noticed that it would randomly lock itself after I unlocked it. Sometimes before I could even close the door behind me. Which lead to a boo boo on my door frame one of the times. I was unsettled by the randomness of it so I did a quick google search and found others complaining of the same thing. Some related it to some damaged wiring in the unit. So, I decided that I would return it and get a new one. Excited again when I brought the second one home, we very gently installed it (just to be sure we weren't the culprit) and the dang thing started locking itself randomly again! Ugh! Took the second one back and exchanged for an August. Haven't looked back. The August is great. Sorry for the Kevo. It's really a beautiful product! Maybe this will be fixed in future models...

it was easy to install -- even easy to key to existing keys. It works ok once you get used to it

The lock works as advertised, but has a few flaws; the app always needs to be running in the background of your phone, draining the battery, and you can't lock it from your phone when you're not physically near the lock

Too many times I havent been able to get to my keys and needed to open the door. Sure we can't lock the bottom lock, but we installed the deadbolt well and I feel secure. Cant wait to see what comes next from KEVO

Love the keyvo. Easy to install and fun to use! Especially handy when you have a lot to carry in. No more fumbling for keys

Whole family loves this. Kids use fobs in backpack to gain entry. Wife & I use iPhones. Send electronic keys to houseguests, and we get a notification when they arrive. I send them an instant text to welcome them to our home, seems a little creepy, then they realize I got info from Kevo lock, and they think it's even cooler. Experienced Nothing but great stuff from this. installed in the freezing cold. simple: 10 minutes. 4 screws. couldn't imagine the install would be hard for anyone unless they had an improperly installed deadbolt prior. Nothing but praises. Will update if anything goes wrong. company sent 5 additional free ekeys when I set-up lock. very cool Kwikset.
