Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Kevo Bluetooth Deadbolt's ease of use and straightforward installation. However, some users experienced inconsistencies with the lock's functionality and Bluetooth connectivity, reporting occasional difficulties with unlocking and challenges related to the app's performance and battery drain. While many appreciate the keyless entry and enhanced security, concerns regarding reliability and the need for frequent battery changes were also noted.

I wanted something that i didn't have to fumble for keys, or punch in a code. With Kevo it just takes a simple touch. Also the phone app is great because i don't always have my key chain with me.

Bought this primarily for the convenience of not having to dig my keys out whenever I'm toting bags home from the store. Just walk up to it, touch it, and it unlocks The lights on the outer ring are handy to tell if the battery is running low or if it wasn't able to pick up on your phone's Bluetooth, but that's been very rare for me. My phone can be buried in my pocket and it picks up on it no problem. I carry the fob on my keychain (and my original key from my old lock) just in case. Speaking of which, it was a breeze to re-key it, took all of 10 seconds with the custom tool they include. Might be cool if it could network with my wifi and have the option to lock or unlock while away from the house.

This is a great product. A excellent option when it comes to smart locks. Installation is a bit tricky but shouldn't cost more than $100 by a local locksmith if you need one.

Install was easy. One feature Inlove is how if your hands are full, you can just tap on the knob and it unlocks itself. One thing I do not like is they give you two physical keys and one fob with the whole set. The fob is what helps you unlock the door without unlocking it physically. This product should come with 2 fobs. They sell extra fobs for $25. This keeps it from 5 stars and reccomending to a friend.

Installation was smooth a little disappointed that it's not supported with my moto x phone for direct pairing but really only a small amount of android are supported like samsung only but was able to get it on mine by sending an ekey from my wife's samsung phone. It's 1 one of the few smartlocks on the market that are near impossible to hack. it would be nice if they allowed more than 3 e keys but also comes with a fob and more are available I do plan to get the kevo plus as well that will allow remote access but so far that's only available online if it were a bundle option or can purchase at same time I'd certainly give 5 stars. battery life seems pretty good so far and I've been using it a lot When trying to install the kevo app from Google play store it states my device is not compatible and won't install so I downloaded from the internet and side loaded the app and works fine

Straight forward to setup if you are familiar with installing/removing door knob assembly's. Work well once aligned deadbolt opening to lock without pulling on door.

After researching different products I decided to go with this one. It was very easy to install. My only negative is that sometimes it doesn't work (doesn't unlock or read that my phone is in range) the first time or first couple of times the lock is touched. But I do like the product and would recommend.

Really love the product. Installation was very easy. Callobratingredients the kevo fob was easy as abc. Setting up the smart phone app was very simple as well. Only reason I am giving this a 4 star is because not all the phones are compatible let for the kevo app. I purchased extra e Keys just to realize the apps don't work out on my parents new smart phones.

I was amazed at how simple it was to install the Kevo lock. My only complaint is when I exit my bedroom (which is where I have placed the lock) I sometimes brush up against the face of the lock and activate it resulting in a misfire and if my phone happens to be in my room, then ruh - roh!

I read several reviews before settling on a motor driven lock. I had two primary wants in mind for this purchase: keyless entry and remote control. The Kevo lock satisfies both sufficiently. I like the fact that the appearance remains that of a standard deadbolt to the casual onlooker and retains said functionality. I like the capability to provide electronic keys to iOS and Android devices. I don't like that you have to pay for the electronic keys but it's a small pill to swallow for the convenience. Setup/installation was not much more challenging than any standard deadbolt replacement and the instructions were pretty good. As to the negatives, I'm not particularly happy that the remote control (internet) feature requires an additional $99 purchase but it does work quite well. In addition, the lock (as reported in many reviews) requires that the phone pretty much be facing it to function keyless. This can be inconvenient when approaching with hands full as I keep the phone in my back pocket. Again, a minor inconvenience but it has happened about 25% of the time when I use the keyless feature. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with the purchase and would readily recommend it to those in search.

So easy to install and use! LOVE IT! All we have to do it touch the lock with your finger and it will lock or unlock as long you have the Fob with you. No need to use keys anymore! Also, it can work with your Bluetooth enabled phone! It's so easy because we always have our phones with us, so we can just touch the lock and we're in the house... SO COOL!

    Great Smart Lock

I bought the 1st gen Kevo knowing that I would be missing out on a few features found in the second gen (metal vs. plastic cover inside, and auto-locking). This didn't bother me at all. I had a very easy time installing the lock. I followed the printed directions, and I had no issues. The lock has been working great now for several weeks with only one issue. After a week of use, the LED ring on the outside lock face stopped lighting up. The lock still functioned normally, but I lost the status feedback of the lights. I called up support and their only solution was that I maybe tightened the bolts too much. I loosened the bolts, but the problem persisted. I then removed the battery pack (a solution that tech support said shouldn't be a fix), and reinstalled after 30 seconds. Immediately after that the LED ring started working again, and has been going strong for several weeks now. Aside from that little glitch, I love the lock. Definitely a must if you are tired of fumbling with keys, while trying to carry groceries, and wrangle small children.

This lock is very cool. It does have a handle that sticks however, which is why I am not rating it 5 stars. It lets me use a simple touch to open the door with my bluetooth enabled device nearby which is great. It's one less key that I have to use. I currently have 5 keys for my home for security purposes, but by the time, I get my front door, all I have to do is tap, watch the lights go and "Voila" it's opened! Down to 4 keys and pretty happy with the purchase.

i was nervous about getting the lock set-up and working properly - it's super easy-peasy though. for the most part, it works exactly as it should... every once in a while (less than 15% of the time) i have a trouble with the opening, but i just i re-swipe and it all works very well.

Easy to install, works like a dream...what more can you ask, This is a good fit for doors that have the handle and deadbolt close together, because all interior fitments go above the deadbolt rather than hanging below it as most types do.

Love the idea of the Bluetooth door look. Looked around at a few, and felt the Kevo would probably be my best choice. Purchased an extra fob as a just-in-case for the family. Tried everything I could to get the fobs and the phones to calibrate with the system, there was no having it. Yes, they connected, but they wouldn't calibrate. Read all the websites, read other people's websites, went everywhere. Fobs and phones will only work when they're right next to the lock. Not a horrible inconvenience, but still an inconvenience none the less. Next issue is the fobs: they keep "falling asleep." I have to keep taking something and pressing the button to "wake" them up so they'll work. The lock's a month old, so I'm doubtful that the batteries are going dead, but hey, changing the battery may be my only option to keep from having to put everything down and reset the fob just to get in the door (which pretty much was why I got the lock anyway.) In all, it's a pretty good novelty, did look into the Kevo Plus, but it's been "sold out" for the last month, so great planning on their part there. It does what it's supposed to do, but others might want to be prepared to put in some work to try to "calibrate." Hope others might have had better luck.

Functionality is great but software needs some improvement like finger print reader instead of touch. Quite often if touch by mistake it would close or open. Loving it no key to worry about. Only thing I don't like is that have to pay for the additional user keys. Normal house hold number is four so it should come with minimum four access.
