We purchased this to pair with our ring security system which we unfortunately we were not able to do due to the misinformation that this model is Z-Wave. This model is the zigbee model. Please beware if you want to connect this to a Z-wave and not zigbee controller, and hopefully the website gets update before more customers are disappointed/misinformed. Other reviewers are also posting about how great the system connected to their smart things... using zigbee not z-wave

So far so good. Installation was easy. Didn't use any smart features but operates fine

First time ever putting a dead bolt on wasn't to hard. It does exactly what it says it does.

Great item, but in the end had to change it out because it started malfunctioning.

Easy to install and program. Not so easy integrate into an existing smart home system - but doable.

You we a hub to be able to use the app. I wanted something where I can use my phone. However you need a hub to connect it to your WiFi. So we’re just using it for the code feature

These locks look amazing. That’s why I bought them. I bought 3. BUT BEWARE!!! After installation, one of them wouldn’t register my touch after 5 or 6 attempts. I thought, maybe it’s just this lock, let me try the other two. Same thing. After a week of frustration trying to get in my house, I took them off and bought the physical button version and couldn’t be happier.

This lock is awesome. Installation was pretty straight forward. This locks doesn't need to be hooked up with a hub. I programmed the Lock codes directly on the lock itself. The only issue i have with the touchscreen isn't as responsive as i would like and i couldn't re-key my Key bc it couldn't fit in the lock. Also it helps that the lock looks great on my door.

the installation of lock onto the door went well. it was in the proper functioning of the locks working after you shut the door. if the door does not operate smoothly, without having to push in or pull up to lock it with a mechanical lock this lock will not work. if there is the slightest resistance in the bolt mechanism you are out of luck. so unless you have a new door on a new frame attached to a new house and employ a very skilled Carpenter you will be mad. after I adjusted on this junk lock for two days and got it working I discovered a feature on it where you touch random numbers before entering code that can't be bypassed. claim it's a security feature so no one can get code looking at fingerprints on pad. come on, they still don't know sequence of numbers and it's an entry lock. inherintly there's gonna be fingerprints all over it. it's really a feature trying to distract you from the poor ability of the lock. well, anyway a cold front came through and shrank the doors threshold and now it don't work again. it's in the trash now where it belongs, I tried to get my money back and was given a hard time so I just lick my wounds and reinstalled my trusty schlage mech lock that's never failed in ten years. thanks quickset for the fond memories

The lock itself is very sleek looking and is not that difficult to install. I got this lock primarily because if it's integration with SmartThings and the ability to incorporate into my entire smart home setup. This lock (and most new Kwikset locks) have the ability to rekey the out of box lock - I was able to set the lock to use my old key which saved me the hassle of copying keys. I have it setup to unlock based on SmartThings detecting the presence of my Note 7 (through IFTTT) in my building. Highly recommended.

I had gotten the Kwikset Kevo at first, but that thing did not work very well with Bluetooth connectivity with newer phones. The app was not even applicable with the Note 5. But the Smartcode 916 is a very good product that is newer and works seemlessly. The con would be that the 30 second autolock feature is a pain sometimes since it keeps on autolocking and making the error sound. This also works with Smarthigs Hubs so I can autolock remotely.

These are unacceptably difficult to use. When batteries fail (which they will with in 6 months no matter what kwikset says) there are NO INSTRUCTIONS on how to change. When they are changed the codes that you have entered are NOT necessarily still there. All things considered not a great device.
