    Good... for a season

I mounted the outside temperature remote less than 100 ft away from the unit, in a nice dry calm area under my deck. After about three months, the outside temperature stopped displaying. I replaced on both the unit and remote with new ones. I did that twice, following the guidelines on the OEM's website (leaving them out for 10 mins and pressing a button 20 times before putting in new ones - first remote and then unit). Each time was in a different location. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the outside temperature to display again. I'm not sure if the problem is with the remote or the unit. It's probably with the remote, but that costs just 10 dollars shy of a brand new unit/remote, so I'm not going to gamble on it. I'll shop around for a different manufacturer of a clock with similar features, hoping theirs will perform through more than one season.

    Atomic Clock

By splitting the screen and putting double information on the bottom half, it makes it WAY too small to see well across the room. We had our old one on the wall and put this one in the same place. We are using it and we're getting used to it, but has to have good light so we can read it.

    Erratic outdoor temp sensing

This clock keeps time just fine. The problem I have with it is: the outdoor sensor eats a set of batteries every six months. When you replace them, you need to also take the batteries out of the clock, wait for it to stop, then re-insert the batteries and wait for the temperature to be sensed before you can set the clock. I'd be fine with that, except that most of the time, the outdoor temp never gets received. It is just too chance-y.

    Great Clock, Great Value

Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my son. It works great and the outdoor temperature sensor is a nice feature. My recommendation to anyone purchasing is this: Read the Instructions. Basically put the batteries in and let it do its thing. AFTER it syncs with the signal from Colorado, then change to your time zone. Be patient because it can take several hours to sync -- which you may think is a hassle, but you never have to think about it again! The forecast feature is nice. I don't understand why there is an alarm for a wall clock, but maybe I'll need it in the next 10 years, who knows.
