My 9 and 10 year olds put this together in 3-4 hours (I've helped them with the first LABO mixed kit). I think they have more fun putting these together than playing them. Each time they are transfixed for hours puting these together, then play for a day or two, then they don't touch it for weeks as the games are more tech demos than true games. They occasionally come back to them but more reliably play Mario or Zelda that cost the same by are much better GAMES. I still believe this is worth the price when on sale for the building component but the weak games makes it hard to recommend at full price.

My son and I build these Labo's together. He doesnt even care for the games after the fact, he just loves folding, creasing, and clicking the cardboard together. You use the switch for a step by step guide - the music and delivery is slick and fun. He's 4 and just thinks it's the coolest. I enjoy building these - We did the variety set with the fishing pole, motorcycle, et cetera and are working this one. I know it may seem like an odd purchase but once you get into it you'll be happy you did.

It took us two and a half hours to make the robot backpack, which is a phenomenon of cardboard engineering when you open it up and see all the gears and pulleys that connect to your arms and feet. Separating the Joy-Cons are used to monitor how the pulleys move and this is then translated into the onscreen actions of a giant robot stomping around in a city. The robot has all method of different abilities, you can punch, walk, fly, become a vehicle and shoot lasers, this all works extremely well and, most importantly, reliably, which is not something you normally associate with what are essentially motion controls. Robot Kit is an amazing novelty, but once again the actual video game aspect is fairly simple. There’s more to unlock, including the ability to customize your in-game robot and play musical instruments when you move your limb, most of the fun is by making the Toy-Con itself. I recommend this product to anyone, don't judge the book by its cover, try it and play it, and find our for yourself if is great or not.

I've been a big Labo fan since it came out, but never took the plunge on the original robot kit. Now that stores are clearing them out, I figured for $20 it's worth it for more building, folding, and playing, and after building the robot backpack and playing with my kids, I just wish I had bought two so we could play together. I might even buy at full price (although getting it for $20 has been my quarantine highlight to date).

Very innovative if your into crafts and using your imagination to play with your kids really pulls you in great time

My kids love their Labo. It takes a bit to put it all together but once it’s assembled it’s a lot of fun.

This kit is not east for kids to assemble. adults will need to help my daughter loved the game but find it kinda hard to play even at 8

My son loves the creativity of this product. It took a little time to build, but he enjoys the game.

This product not only provided quality time with my 10 year-old daughter putting it together: but we had a blast playing the games with it. A bit pricey but you're not just paying for cardboard as some reviews lead you to believe. You are also getting the games (software) that this is used with: that has value. But most important is the time and interaction you spend with someone you like to spend time with. Priceless!

This looked like a waste of money but the kids wanted it so I got it for them as a gift. It's much more interesting than I thought it would be. A very interesting take on video gaming and very creative use of the Switch platform. If 1st person shooters are your passion then this probably won't keep your attention for long but all in all this was well worth the money.

this kit takes forever to setup but once you do set it up it is fun to use.
