this is very a fast hardrive..very compact ..strong..nice design

Yeah, it's a bit pricey compared to alternatives, but it's definitely the best external hard drive I've ever had my hands on. Quick transfers and the cool cosmetic look is a plus.

This was a little more than I wanted to spend for external storage device for my videos and photos but I ended up going with it because it is lightening bolt compatible with my mac. It comes with both USB and thunderbolt cables. Also comes with a cool rubber protector which is great for my mobile lifestyle. You can set up pretty fast and section off how much storage you want for mac and how much storage for PC. Pricey but worth it to me.

I was looking for an external hard drive that could hold my pictures/video and would continue to work should one of my kids drop it accidentally. So far, so good.....

I would purchase a 2nd one if needed. I photograph with RAW digital files and save them to the Lacie external hard-drive, as I am doing a commercial assignment for the safety factor just in case something happens when I have stored the images onto the laptop. Then I transfer the files directly to my big computer to work on with PhotoShop.

works great with my Macbook Pro and is able to be partitioned so part of the drive can be set up for windows use as well for going between a windows and mac computer

I am using this as a Time Machine backup disk and I grab it before I head out the door. If the office gets robbed at least I still have my important files.

This is an excellent product. I store so much on it and can easily and quickly transfer data. I love its durability. Great product I highly recommend.

Great drive for HD video storage used with a MacBook Pro , Final Cut Pro X project storage and back ups.

Perfect portable drive. A bit costly but worth it in the long run. I am a photographer and would trust my photo storage on no other drives than Lacie.

I have more than one external hard drive. All work fine..all LaCie. Never had an issue. Use these for photography. These thing can take a beating. If I had one complaint would be the connection cables. A bit loose that feed into the unit. I wonder why the connections are not USB at both ends? The USB connection is solid. The specialized connect to the hard drive has alway seem weak. I have experienced the connection come loose but knowing this before hand I am vigilant. Great product! 4 stars...would have had 5 stars if the connect was better.

I own 4 of these drives as I use them for work when traveling for video shoots. I have yet to have one of these drives fail in the 3+ years of using them. Once I can find the Thunderbolt 3 version available at Best Buy I grab a couple of them to replace the TB2 + adapter I am currently having to use with my MacBook Pro.

Best hard drive out on the market, there isn't one that is more user friendly or durable.

I recognized that a lot of people are using these hard drives and I had to understand why and now that I have purchased one, I sure know why! This drive is INCREDIBLY fast. It's as solid as a rock. I'm not worried about accidentally dropping it. Worth the money!

Purchased this drive for storage of my digital photos as I had maxed out my MacBook. The drive is fast, portable for taking between multiple computers and sturdy as it goes on me with all my trips. No issues with setup at all. Absolutely recommend to anyone.

The LaCie hard drive is hands down the best HD I've used for personal use. It is super fast, which is a must for 4k Video, and the rubber casing really goes a long way to keep your data safe from the bumps and jostles of everyday life. It may not be a G-Drive, but for the money, it just plain works.
