Leroy Green (Taimak), a young martial artist living in New York City, trains tirelessly to attain the same level of mastery as the great Bruce Lee. One night, his life changes forever when he rescues television personality Laura Charles (Vanity) from evil businessman Eddie Arkadian (Chris Murney). Impressed by Leroy's bravery, Laura falls for Leroy -- but to keep her safe, he will have to defeat a gang leader named Sho'nuff (Julius J. Carry III), the self-styled Shogun of Harlem.

Couldn't wait for this to drop on Bluray! I wasn't even born when this movie was originally released, but my father introduced me and my siblings to it at a young age and we loved. "BRUCE LEROY, THAT'S WHO!!" lol So many great lines. Obviously its not an oscar winner, but the story is entertaining and the soundtrack will have you jammin!! I mean, come on its the 80's and Berry Gordy!

I remember loving this movie 20 years ago, so now that my sons have gotten into watching Bruce Lee type martial arts movies, I had to show it to them. There is a martial art master "ShoNuff" who is the bad guy, that needs to prove he is the best around. Yet the hero of the story is a martial arts expert that follows the way of using it as defense, not as an offense. Good story, fun martial arts action and some silly comedy to make it a great movie. Watch it and enjoy!!!

I've been searching for this movie for the past 15 years easily and then I find it on blu ray while casually strolling through best buy. I had to have it. The feels of my childhood come rushing back. Movie is corny and a warning for first time viewers, it's pretty dated. It does have kung foo and an amazing soundtrack. You have to experience the movie for yourself. For everyone who has seen it once and is looking for it, good times will be had.

Love this movie. It is still as cheeky and cheesy as ever but over the top unsung hero 80's goodness of the guy trying to rescue the girl and stop an evil money hungry Boss from taking over her studio. Martial arts action, comedy, morality and a fun soundtrack. If you LOVE 80's movies this is a MUST for your collection...you can't get a better popcorn movie than this one and it is even more spectacular on Blu-ray!

OK, maybe I'm looking through rose colored glasses. I loved this movie as a kid & knew I'd buy it as soon as it was announced. I was just hoping that the picture quality would be good & wow, better than I hoped for a film that is 30 years old. Especially one that isn't a mainstream target. Most of the movie still hopes up, but there are some corny parts. Overall, I loved it after rewatching & so did the kids.

A classic movie from my youth. I rem seeing this movie several times on TV, when I was a kid. I rem thinking it was so cool. I saw that this was released on BD and I just had to have it. For only $9.99, it was a win-win. The picture quality is terrific & the film still grabs my attention after all these years. Its a little corny but its to be expected from a pg movie from 1985. Tons of nostalgic value.

Silly, good natured "Kong fu" movie from the mid 80's. Plenty of contrivancies in the storyline, but it's all in good fun. Straight forward good versus evil, and quite a few actors that were barely starting out in Hollywood like William H. Macy and Ernie Reyes Jr. Nothing negative to say about the video quality other than it was filmed in the 80's so it probably wouldn't be much of an improvement if this was the Blu-Ray. The movie isn't for everyone, but for those looking for a fun martial arts film, this is one of the classics.

This movie in blu is light years ahead of the DVD version. If you are a fan of this film then you NEED to own the Blu Ray copy. It looks and sounds incredible versus the DVD version. Tell that chicken hearted son of yours to name the place and name the time because now he's got to fight me!

I enjoyed this movie immensely when it first came out. Then again when it hit the television stations. Now I get to own it. Movies weren't as complicated as they are today. And the graphics were great for the day. No CGI (or barely). Great for the young ones (pre-teens), if you don't want your kids exposed to the level of violence in today's movies.

The best kind of terrible 80s movie!

This movie has the glow! The Last Dragon hits a good number of the beats you expect in a terrible 80s movie that you love anyway. A great theme song rounds out a soundtrack that's best heard on a walkman cassette player. Most of the actors you probably never saw again, but looked like they were genuinely having fun while on the screen. And a villain who (of course) made his money through his videogame arcade empire chews scenery that his henchmen haven't already chowed down on.

The last dragon is a cult classic and for all its campy and silly kung fu action, its an eighties baby must have! The blu ray 30th anniversary delivers and you'll want this one to fill that hole in your heart this is one of the only good things to come out of the 80's!

I used to watch this movie when I was a kid. I didn't even know it was on blu ray till it was on the sale list one week. I didn't hesitate. This movie has some great martial arts sequences along with a decent storyline. The laughs are there too. As soon as I ought it, I rushed home to watch it. Entertainment all around. A must see

I have watched this movie since I purchased it, 65 times and I just can't get enough and I am sure this dvd will hold up for many, many years to come.

    A Martial Arts Classic

This was one of my favorite martial arts movies when i was growing up. 30 years later it's still pretty good, but it isn't as action packed as today's martial arts movies. A word of caution, even though it's a Motown film and produced by Berry Gordy, there's definitely dialogue and character portrayals that would not be considered politically correct in today's climate. Keep those things in mind before viewing with younger children.

If you're a fan of '80s kung fu movies, you'll be a fan of this one as well. It's a must have because it memorialized our love of those old flicks and brought it home. It's great to get a chance to look through a window and see the '80s again. If you love Bruce Lee, you'll love this movie.
