This is not Brando best work. A little to perverse for me.

The girl was cute ...
But I really don't like the exploitation of women ...
Brando's star quality led me to buy.
Wish I hadn't wasted my money and my time.

If you watch this film from the stand point of what the characters themselves are going through and not for its "scandalous scenes" you'll truly appreciate it.
I purchased it because I couldn't rent it in my area but that doesn't matter, I would have ended up purchasing it anyway.
Marlon Brando gives, in my opinion, one of his best performances. You truly feel his pain and struggles, some of which are based on real life events. Such as, when he is talking to Maria Schneider about his childhood this material is all ad-libbed from Marlon's true life experiences.
Maria Schneider also gives an excellent performance. You see her as a woman/child who is struggling to become an adult and find her way in the world but hasn’t quite figured it out yet.
I highly recommend this film!

Watched this film for the first time recently. A truly great film. I can see why it was controversial when first released & would be considered mild by today's standards. Maria Schneider was great & Marlon Brando was fantastic. One of his best films.
