Tom Hardy is quiet but blunt and to the point with his role which is outstanding. I don't know why so many critics give Shia Lebeouf such a hard time. He gives a performance that is absolutely believable from that time period. Jessica Chastain is marvelous in this movie as well as she is stunning!

This movie pertained all of my favorite actors. The three brothers in the film were running a corrupt operation in which they acted like they were above the law. When the youngest gets a feel of what it's like to do dealings with a deadly gangster, everything starts to spiral down hill! It's a great outlaw movie packed with gangster dealings that are based in a true story. It's a must see!

Lawless is a great movie. Not your typical western kind of movie. Lots of action, brotherhood, love scene. Its got the works. Not for kids though! Jessica Chastain does a terrific job along with Tom Hardy and Guy Pearce as the antagonist and protagonist. Give it a chance, highly recommended.

I loved Tom Hardy as Forrest in this movie. This true story of 3 brothers selling moonshine during prohibition had me hooked from the beginning. If you love period piece bio-pic movies I recommend giving this a try. There was just off enough shoot outs and just enough heart.

This is a great movie with some great acting. During prohibition there were many corrupt politicians and gangsters that took advantage of the situation and found a way to make money off of it. Family and family values of these backwoods people seams to be the theme of this movie.

Lawless was extremely well filmed, looked great and stayed true to year it was set in. The cast was strong and all delivered good performances, especially Tom Hardy, who once again showed how much of a versatile actor he is. Shia LaBeouf was also a stand out performer for me.

Great acting by Tom Hardy. His character reminded me of the Kray brothers characters he played in the film Legend. I thought Shia Labeouf's character was some of the best acting I've seen him do. Interesting period piece with interesting storyline.

Despite my reservations about Shia LaBeouf, the acting in this movie all around was fantastic. The story line is great and really pulls you into the excitement -- and anxiety -- of the Prohibition era. If you hate violent/bloody movies, you should probably avoid this one.

Lawless is a gritty crime drama set in the Great Depression and based on a true story, no less. With lots of action and great acting by Hardy and LeBeouf, you'll want to see this one again and again. One of those films you'll be pulling for the "bad guys"!

A really good movie based on true events and the acting was superb. Scenery was excellent. I have watched it more than once. Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain what more could you ask for?

THIS ENSEMBLE OF STARS OUTPERFORMED MY WILDEST EXPECTATIONS. THE THREE BROTHERS WITH THEIR LADY, SHOWED THE LAW WHAT BOOTLEGGING IS ALL ABOUT. THEY MADE YOU ROOT FOR THE UNDERDOG. TOM HARDY ALWAYS LEADS THE GANG TO OUTPERFORM.

I saw this movie years ago at the theater. When I was in Best Buy and saw it was on sale, just couldn't pass it up. The acting is superb and the movie has a killer plot. If you are someone that like prohibition era themed movies, this is a must get.

Great story of family taking care of each other. Awesome acting makes you root for them quickly. Just a flat out good movie that you can watch over and over again.

The whole bootlegger theme says total rebel. I kinda like the period type movies. The antiestablishment theme is enjoyable. Makes me feel like bending a rule every now and then can be fun. Bend,of course,and not break.

Highly recommend this one. The acting is superb, especially Tom Hardy. Well written screenplay that accurately depicts the people and attitudes of its subject and totally takes you back to that era. One of my favs.

I went into this film nothing nothing. I purchased the film at the check out line and it turned into one of the best films I saw that year. Great action. The story is dynamic and Hardy is great,

Other movie was sold out at the cinemas so went in to watch this instead. Had no idea what it was about and was pleasantly surprised. Then decided to buy it on Bluray and wasn't disappointed.

This movie was my personal favorite for the year, as soon as I viewed it. It's a remarkable film. Tom and Shia shine bright in this film, and Guy Pierce is fantastic, as always. The entire cast is wonderful.
