I have had the Lepan II for about a month, and still enjoying it greatly! Excellent screen quality, sound, and response. Buttons on the side are small, but after using it a while this is fine - no problems - glad they are all on one side. Camera quality is okay but not great. The first video or two I watched on youtube had buffering issue mentioned by others, but I have watched a ton more since then with no delay issues at all. Video shows very quickly on this tablet. Touch response is excellent. Screensize is just right for me. I can easily read full page 8.5x11 PDF pages. Brightness of the screen is excellent and easily adjustable. I guess Lepan III will come out soon with 1.5 (instead of 1.2 Ghz) and with front and rear cameras, but I'm very happy with my Lepan II purchase. Looking forward to the ICS upgrade, but the Honeycomb is working just fine until then. On some pages like att.my.yahoo.com or myfoxatlanta I just use the full site web page version rather than some tablet or mobile version of the page. It is so fast to load the page and scroll through and select news items that I do not see any need to use the tablet or mobile page version. Streaming music from gmusic google account works great.

I won't lie I took a leap of faith on this tablet. I needed a tablet for work in an environment where it's always a constant on the go handy tool. A list of products I looked over before my purchase were the Samsung galaxy 10 note, IPad, Insignia, and Asus. All of these tablets are great but were just way more than what I needed, so I am very satisfied with the Le Pan II. I'm only a good month into owning this tablet and so far it has been just what I needed with making my schedule, notes, writing up customer orders, surfing the web, and making documents. It's helped me increase my productivity throughout the day and has been a great investment! (especially for the reasonable price) My one complaint was the fact I had to take a leap of faith on the product because the site does not make it very clear if it actually does run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.. In some specs it just said 4.0... When the competition is Samsung, Asus, and Apple I would hope for some better details. So in closing, the Le Pan II has been a great investment and I would definitely recommend it, however, for a potential customer looking to buy this product I understand the reviews are either on the good or bad side of the spectrum. Technology always involves risks so just stop and think about what you're looking for out of your future tablet. For me, the outstanding price and the features have fit my needs perfectly.

Bought a Le Pan II for hubby's birthday and we (mostly "i") can't put it down!! This is our first tablet so i wasn't sure how to make it "cool" but once i started adding an app for this and an app for that, we loved it even more. I try to keep it out of the bedroom because I’m afraid I’ll fall asleep playing with it and punt it across the room in the middle of the night. I did buy the optional protection plan, but I don’t wanna press my luck. And I’d hate to have to start over with all the apps and wallpapers I’ve downloaded. The picture is great, the screen is super sensitive (in a good way), it's easy to hold. One of my fav features is the fact that your main three buttons aren't really “buttons”. They're on the screen so whichever way you rotate the tablet, your buttons are always in the bottom left corner. The screen protector we purchased might alter the picture a bit because it’s anti-glare but it still looks fantastic so no worries about buying those. Outside or in well-lit places, you’ll be glad to have it! It was not easy to apply, however, but please don’t let that deter you…some ppl are better with that sort of thing than others. Just be prepared to spend a little time with it and focus on the peace of mind you’ll have knowing your screen is protected, and easier to see! No case yet, so no comment on how well that works out. I’ve read that using cases made for other tablets make some of the buttons hard to reach, but I have yet to see a “Le Pan case” so you work with what you’ve got.
We only have one movie on it so far, and therein lies our only issue with this little guy, movies and videos. First, 8 GB seemed like a lot to us because we don't need it for work or anything...but after we tried to put a movie on it (albeit unconverted) we found out that we didn't have enough storage space. The next lesson we learned was that the videos we shot with our simple little digicam wouldn’t play on the Le Pan II. If you’re more familiar with tablets than we were then you’ll already know you need more space if you’re going to be doing much movie watching, and that you’ll likely need to start converting your collection. I was able to convert a couple of things (to check the quality because all we’d done up to this point was play games) and we’re still in love, so no biggie there! Another issue that doesn’t bother us because we don’t need this function is the camera. It does not take good pics, but we don’t need or want a tablet for that. If you do, be advised that you won’t love the pics you take and that the camera is only front-facing so you won’t be able to see the image as you take your pic…unless you’re trying to see yourself and/or whatever’s lurking behind you. Other than that, you will LOVE this tablet! When I was researching which tablet to purchase, a friend brought his first gen iPad to work so I could play with it and I’m loving the Le Pan II waaaaay more. I did say he has a first gen iPad, so I can’t compare mine with the newer Apples, but I wasn’t going to spend Apple money (still won’t) and I couldn’t be any happier with my decision. =D

I had been looking for a tablet for a while. First I tried the Pandigital Novel, it was solid as a rock and heavy as one also lol but it was stuck with android 2.0 and no way to upgrade it, 600 MHz processor very little memory and storage, no android market or Google apps and only 7" resistive display. So next I tried a Velocity Micro Cruz T408 8" capacitive display, android 2.3, 1GHz processor 512MB RAM 4GB storage but it was all plastic and felt heavy but cheap in hand. When held in 1 hand it made a squeaking noise whenever i moved my hand and felt like the case was coming apart. I could live with that because it was only $179.00 but after 1 week it froze and needed a reset after which it never connected to WiFi again :(
So after checking 6 stores and testing dozens of other tablets, reading many reviews, posts and watching lots of video reviews I spotted the Le Pan II and it had everything I was looking for... price, size, speed, storage, looks, android market... THE WORKS! And anything to even come close to it's specs started at $400.00
So I pre-ordered 1 from Amazon Jan 5Th but they couldn't get it to me till Jan 31st - Feb 9Th so when I saw Best Buy had them and could get it to me in 1 week I jumped on it and they got it to me in 4 business days :)
All i can say is THIS TABLET IS AWESOME! :) Looks great feels great works great! Its all they said and MORE! NO plastic, solid in the hand but not too heavy to hold in 1 hand for long periods of time, great display with excellent viewing angles, nice Loud speakers too and very strong battery... I got 16.5hrs of surfing, videos, music and just test the unit yesterday.
It's hard to find a bad review for the Le Pan II and I'm very happy with mine.

I was so excited to get this tablet! The buzz, prior reviews and the PRICE!! wow! Well the camera is awful, and I mean AWFUL! The device has some trouble with Wifi connectivity but its not a deal breaker. The Android Marketplace compared to the apple app store is horrendous. Marketplace has horrible apps. I tried watching television on ABC and it worked "okay" definitely not good. Netflix worked amazing. Tablet had decent speed. Skype would not work with the camera. You can only voice call on skype and not video call. I decided to return this tablet. The company Le Pan promised this tablet was upgradable to ICS operating system update. Which was a total lie. They told customers that ICS 4.0 is not released yet, When in fact it has been released. When I emailed them asking about the upgrade, they told me to put in a case for it on there website. "Rude" Well I was no longer happy. Returned this device...It Did not do certain tasks I wanted it to do. Plus I wanted the new upgrade, which I cannot get. Bottom Line: I cheaped out and bought this tablet because it was cheaper than the IPAD...Big Mistake. Also when you want to set the background it forces you to crop your existing picture, resulting in about 30 percent of it being show in the background...That was annoying.

This is a great Tablet, I have an ASUS EEE Transformer Prime for work, got this for home, the resolution is pretty nice, it is very bright screen not IPS but it is as bright as my Prime with IPS. This is a great tablet the power lasts about 2.5 days, charges in about 2.5 hours. Doesn't have any Junk apps on it, just the Android release. May or may not have ICS soon, web says the release is any day now...not a big deal honeycomb is not much different (ICS on Prime and Phone) the weight is pretty good has a hardware switch to lock in the screen direction. Updated to play store no problems. Have had it about 3 months.

I am going to be very honest with you guys, you don't need to spend over 500dlls to buy an iPad if you can have the same or even better for some featrues with this French tablet called Le Pan in the 200's dlls range.
I love Apple products, don't get me wrong, but i felt in love of this new tablet in the first 5 mintues of use. It has its pros and cons as any other product, but more pros than cons; here is a specific review that made up my mind and decided to buy it, hope you find it helpful.

This is an excellent product with one flaw. It will turn off and not turn on. I was about to return the product but I pressed the reset button using a safety pin and the product came back to life. I was so happy. Love the product. I bought the product for the kids so I love the price point and durability. It also fits in the iguy, a kids case for the ipad.

Con: It appears that this product will not last. I received it February 9th and begin to have problems with the battery logic June 15th. On July 1st the tablet would not cut on. Several of the reviews I have read talk about problems within 3 months. I guess I was lucky!
Pros: The tablet is absolutely beautiful and easy to navigate. the 4.3 screen gives the perfect display to replace papers when speaking. the video quality is awesome. the sound is good. and the 3.2 Honeycomb system is good for multitasking. I though I had found the perfect tablet for my needs at half the cost of the Ipad or Samsung. I guess I was wrong. I am not a happy camper. They want to send me another tablet, but I can't get my personal information off this one. :(

The Le Pan II is a great tablet. The screen is super responsive and it directly accesses the Google Play store for thousands of apps. The screen is bright and crisp and large enough to read, play games, or even do word processing. I bought this tablet to do homework and it was worth every penny. If you can find one, I higjly recommend it.

Support: if you pay that much for this you expect the company to stand by their product. this company does not. they make it difficult to reach them. mine has a minor problem that i though would take a phone call or two to resolve and its been six weeks. no one answers their customer service number or its too busy ( bad sign if lines are always busy. lines are not busy for good products) you have to go online and start cases and wait. if you think i am kidding call the number see how long it takes to get hold of anybody. i am on my 4th attempt each lasting minimum and hour.
Parts: after purchase i needed an extra charger. its proprietery so you cant use any after market parts, they are not available. i had to put in a case online, then they respond then i respond , pay through pay pal...yes pay pal and send them transaction number... and then wait 2 weeks. it took 4 weeks to get a charger.
save your money pay more for better support froma reputable company

Le Pan II Tablet

This has been a highly unsatisfactory purchase. I ordered the Le Pan II, which appeared to have good ratings and was an economical alternative to the IPAD. I've been reminded that "you get what you pay for." First, the Le Pan did not sync with "Words with Friends" on Facebook. I repeatedly called the Le Pan hotline listed on the box, and each time would receive a message that a representative was unable to take my call at this time (or any other time, apparently). Within two weeks, the Le Pan stopped charging. I thought I might have flipped the wall switch off, so tried charging further. I then thought the outlet was bad, and plugged it in to another outlet. Still no charge. I called the Le Pan Hotline number, with the same results. I then called Best Buy (which should have been my first step, but I thought it was a hotline type question), and was told that the item couldn't be returned because it was now days beyond the 14-day period. I was advised that the Le Pan had a one year warranty, but the rep told me he couldn't find the manufacturer of the product on his listing. He referred my call to another person who would assist in finding the manufacturer's information. I was told I'd hear something back via email within a few days. Days later and still no word.So now I'll be calling my credit card company. I might add that I did not receive instructions with the Le Pan II, other than a "Quick Start Guide."

Brand new to Android. Never used it before. I charged it all night when I got it (with-in a week after I ordered it) and then added my Wi-Fi and connected fast. Loaded all my app's I use from my I-phone and reading my books from Kindle from my phone too. Loaded a wallpaper from a new movie coming out March 9th and I must say I am addicted to this. Great color. Great sound, great price....I am loving this....Did not want to spend over $300 on any new tablet. Did alot of research for tablets and my mind was reeling over all the choices. I finally got this and I am SO happy I did.

This was my first venture into tablet computers, however I have an Android smartphone so I am very familiar with the Android OS. My roommate and I each bought a Le Pan II, mainly because of the affordable price and good specs on the unit. His randomly shut off about once an hour, so he returned it and got a new one. That one worked for about three days and then started randomly shutting down like the first one. My roommate was not impressed and gave up on having a tablet at all. Mine had a lot of trouble connecting to the internet. There are a bunch of security steps to get on the campus internet, but after burning at least five hours I finally got connected. At this point I was fairly impressed with the capabilities and the outlook was good. Then I started noticing glitches. I tried to run internet radio (Pandora) through my Bluetooth enabled sound system, but as soon as I turned on Bluetooth it would randomly drop the wifi connection and/or the Bluetooth connection. It would also drop wifi if I plugged it in to charge. So I gave up and returned it to try a new one. Same problem--wouldn't connect to wifi at all this time. I returned it and bought an Acer Iconia A200 and it blows the Le Pan II out of the water for not too much more money. Overall, the Le Pan II may be an option for some people-- it may work better on a network with less security, I don't know. For me it has too many glitches and I was always wondering and hoping that it could complete the simple tasks I gave it. It did not complete its purpose to be a convenience device.

I was excited to find a 10" tablet for a reasonable price. Of course I was concerned about some reviews that questioned the long term reliability of the on/off switch. When I got it home, I loved it. It was fast and easy to use and download apps. LOVED IT. BUT after less that a week, the on/off switch stopped working. LOTS OF TIME SPENT LEARNING THE ANDROID SYSTEM AND DOWNLOADING MANY MANY APPS. LOTS OF TIME WASTED. Fortunately the return policy was great and I took it back for a full credit. Not sure why the switch couldn't be replaced, but as long as I got a full refund, I was happy. I spent another $100 and purchased a Toshiba Thrive. My wife and I just spent three weeks traveling in Europe and the Thrive worked excellently.

I bought my LePan 2 around August 2012 and it hasn't let me down. It came with Honeycomb which was upgradeable to ICS through the LePan website. That is my only con. You can't upgrade through the actual tablet so you have to download ICS onto your computer and then load it onto your tablet. It only took me about 15 minutes so it wasn't too bad. As for the tablet itself, it feels sturdy and the screen has a good resolution. I only use it for emails, web browsing and have downloaded a few games but have never experienced any lag. I've never used an IPad so I can't compare it to that but all in all, this tablet is great for the money and I would recommend it to anyone.
