The Butler was one of the best movies of 2013. This was the tale of every black person during the Civil Rights Movement. This heart wrenching tale of American History forces you to examine your contribution to this Country and forces you to do better.

The movie was great! There was more than one story. His family was one and civil rights was spelled out quite well. I don't think everyone knew it was coming, but it was nice to see - especially people who never knew what the civil rights were about.

This movoe spans approximately 50 years, covering all the presidents from Eisenhower to the present from the perspective of a butler whose position resides in the White House. Great actors and actresses compliment the film which is very entertaining.

A fantastic opportunity to go throughout a vital portion of American history through the eyes of an interesting father and son experiencing very different lives and the effects all off it has on each other and their family. An extraordinary journey!

Overall, The Butler was a very good film and the ensemble cast really added to the storytelling ability of the film. The backdrop was indeed a tumultuous time in America and the opportunity for a new generation to see and gain perspective on the mistakes of the past are prevalent in this film. As a DVD package it offers all that one would expect to accompany this film.

I purchased this product with my best buy $5 rewards certificate and only paid $5 for this recently released DVD that was a great watch for the second time where I already seen the movie in the theater, and wanted to add his to my DVD library....

It's great to learn more about black history base on true stories. Since they did teach much of it in school when I went. Would recommend this movie. Don't want to ruin anything for someone else just watch it. I want to c 12 years a slave next.

This telling of The Butler was such a beautiful story. What an amazing life that man lived. I'm happy to be able to see and hear of his incredible life. The actors in this movie are brilliant bringing the entire production into greatness.

The struggle for civil rights was on point, not sure they portrayed the views held by the various presidents were accurate. the clothes for the era could have been more in tune with times. overall a very good movie, had to watch it twice.

The movie is not just a "feel good" movie. It goes into race relations and the problems caused by race relations over a 70-80 year period. Some of the worst of what people do to each other. It is well acted, great cinematography.

This movie was very good. Interesting all the way through. Oprah was hilarious in some of her costumes. The acting was not boring and it kept my interest throughout the movie. I watched the movie twice because it was so good.

This story about a child who loses his father, and is taken into the home of an elserly slave owner to learn the art of being a butler. He grows up and becomes a father and a butler in the white house. The acting is great!!

Great historical significance as it really portrays the time and attitude, even though it is a fiction film. For those who didn't live in the 50-60-70 era, it brings alive the accepted discriminatory attitude of the time.

This movie should be viewed and discussed in middle schools around the country as part of US history. It is also very enjoyable family watching. It is one of the few non-fiction movies that I will watch multiple times.

A true story great footage and terrific acting . Appreciate how persons of ethic culture had to endure many challenges and with their integrity their spirits. opened up a pathway to walk for the future generation

A very good movie. The actors were very good. Oprah Winfrey was excellent in this movie. I think it's a good movie for all ages. Shows children and adults the predjudice that the blacks had to suffer in earlier years.

Awesome movie. ..as well as educational..I think it gives a little bit of education of and knowledge of black history. It shows some of the fight of what black people had to fight to get to where we are today.

This is a remarkable true story of a devoted servant who persevered thru extreme racial discrimination in serving our country's leaders. Although some parts of the story may be exaggerated for movie effects; his determination to protect his family and remain a loyal employee is commendable. Highly recommended.

“The Butler” is a good movie. The movie is based on the true story of Eugene Allen who served as the White House head butler from 1952 to 1986. Although, some of the movie is friction; it still depicts Mr. Allen’s journey through some of the most important times in American history. Overall, a very good movie
