I received this phone free with a TV purchase from LeEco's Cyber Monday sale but have spent several days using it as my primary device. Build Quality (5/5): It has a very familiar, generic look (HTC, OPO) but still remains attractive and professional looking. Build quality is superb with this device as it has a glass/metal unibody with no creaks or visible design flaws. Some people have complained the navigation buttons are not always "on" but I love how they fade away and illuminate when you need them; it looks very sleek to me. There is no headphone jack and I would ding some points but LeEco made up for it with included accessories which will be mentioned later on. Screen (4/5): Not being QHD is no big deal for me and I wasn't expecting it from a device at this cost. The screen is a 5.5" IPS LCD at 1080p and is plenty sharp. The color seems a bit on the cool side but you can't adjust color modes in the "display settings". It doesn't get the brightest but looks very good and gets the job done. Pixels are not visible and viewing angles are very good. Camera Quality (3/5): I also own an Honor 8 and this phone's camera, while good, is far behind in terms of quality. Sure, it's fast and dependable but the shots are a bit on the soft side and colors do not reproduce nearly as well. This isn't much an issue to me because I received the phone for nothing and, while looking at the big picture, it performs great for a sub-300 phone. You will most likely be pleased with shots you take for social media. It's good. Performance (5/5): I don't have any hiccups with this phone. It multi-tasks with no effort and is pretty zippy! The fingerprint sensor is not the fastest but it is certainly not the slowest. You do have to ensure your fingers have no moisture on them as it will not perform with any condensation present. No complaints! I have read how some do not receive notifications consistently. Thankfully, this has not been a problem for me as my notifications all come in seamlessly. The Honor 8's Achilles Heel is notifications, however, and I have missed so much with EMUI's finicky software not pushing notifications even when asking it to do so; this works just fine and I enjoy actually seeing what I get! Software (2/5): EUI is a mess. This is mostly forgivable because I quickly threw Nova Launcher on the phone but certain actions such as using the multi-tasking button to access your controls just feels like they decided to throw a curve ball in the game for the sake of disruption. It adds no benefit or speed to the UI. If I could change the control settings back to their proper placement I would like this phone just a bit more. Battery Life (5/5): This phone has solid battery life and QuickCharge 3.0 is a bonus! I can EASILY get through a day with heavy use and that's a good thing! I have used phones like the Moto X (2014) and Nextbit Robin that gulped battery like me clenching to a Gatorade bottle the day after St Patrick's Day and in 2016 poor battery performance is unforgivable in a phone. There is a saying, "Make it work!" that every company should adhere to when building a smartphone that people depend on. In this case, LeEco makes it work and they do it quite well. Connectivity (5/5): I was able to throw my Cricket SIM card in and, bam!, it all worked! I was able to send/receive calls and SMS/MMS messages (another thing my Honor 8 had a hard time doing), browse the web, and use the phone without taking any additional steps. APN settings automatically updated and it was a go. Value (5/5): I was impressed with the outstanding value of this phone! In no way does it feel like you are using a cheap phone! If it came with stock Android it would be the biggest win of the year! With my package I received a beautiful "Le" branded black box with bonus accessories like a case, pre-installed glass screen protector, USB-C heaphones, a headphone adapter, quick charging block, and USB-C power cord! They really gave you everything you needed to start using their product the moment you received it. I've never been much a fan of Apple because of their stingy business model - giving consumers a fragile slate with no protection, therefore, upselling them on an absurdly-priced case at the Apple Store (which they could find so much cheaper on Amazon) to use before they leave. But then again, it works for Apple so all power to them, I guess. LeEco's Services (TBD): Honestly, I am waiting on a TV I got a big bargain on and am using this phone because it was free with that purchase. I don't have much interest in LeEco's ecosystem as I am heavily invested in, both, Google and Amazon's. Adding a third company in the mix does not appeal to me so I cannot give a genuine review of this. With that said, I do appreciate their 5TB of storage offer. Even though I back everything up with Google I might test this out sometime. Conclusion: This is a very good phone for an incredible value. Look, you will definitely want to throw a launcher on this phone when you get it... LeEco's software is a mess but the majority of it can be fixed with little tweaks. I am strongly considering making $300 by selling my Honor 8 because using this phone does not leave me "wanting" for a better phone. It is a solid performer that stands on its own. If you can get this phone for a good deal I wholeheartedly will tell you to BUY THIS PHONE!

    Le S3 Not Charging

I have used the phone about 3 months or less. The charger and plug that came with the phone was plugged into the wall, but it won't charge. The percentage of charging shown on the screen only goes down when plugged in. When the phone is on, the screen shows it charges, but doesn't increase in battery. I did reset the phone, but it's still same issue. The phone was finally dead. This price of this phone is not worth getting it. contacted Best Buy about this, but there's no response. Contacted the phone company (LeEco), it threw the ball back to Best Buy. What a customer service it is!

The professional review sites are a bit critical of this device, but I'd say this is the best cellphone value I've come across in the past five years. There are some compromises, sure, but this device has been a stalwart performer since I first picked it up, and I say that coming from Android devices that earned better review scores elsewhere. PROS: Excellent build Faster than the spec sheet would lead you to believe, and equipped with an awesome task manager to kill apps clogging working memory Good screen, though the colors are slightly diluted Good call quality and connectivity Great notification system, with number overlays indicating which apps have seen activity Really fast charging Dual SIM, or expandable memory via SD card. Your choice. NEUTRAL: No headphone jack, but comes with a pretty good pair of USB-C headphones CONS: The camera stinks. Like, really stinks. Custom Android overlay takes some getting used to, but standard features (like an app drawer) have been restored through an OS update. Navigation buttons are reversed, though that's quite common with phones originating from China. LeEco is in financial trouble, so future updates might be slow on arriving. So, there's certainly some things about this device that aren't that great, but there are far fewer of them than comparable devices at this price point. I'm consistently and pleasantly surprised at how well the performance of this device holds up; in fact, it runs better than the LG G4 it replaced and the Honor 8 I'm tapping out this review on. If you need a reliable performer, want good build materials, and can cope with an average camera, definitely grab this device. Well, well worth it.

Premium design, awesome cameras, fingerprint sensor, HD screen, easy to use software (if you don't swear by stock Android) and the performance can't be beat for the price. If you're in the market for a new phone, grab LeEco.

Don't waste your money on over hyped Apple or Samsung that everyone is trying to sell you to make more money. Buy this phone you will get the same if not better quality. $650+ for apple or Samsung is crazy stupid. What have people come to today? I would rather buy my 11 year kid a used car over at $650 phone. You can get this phone on sale for $149 maybe $179

Amazing phone for only $170. Better phone than other phones on the market such as the Moto G4 Plus, ZTE Axon, etc. This phone reaches specs close as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. This reaches the modern smartphone standards with amazing pricing.

If you love audio then this is it

For me, audio is very important and this phone is perfect. Awesome quality over the Bluetooth transmission. Live up to the promise made by CDLA technology. Also missing 3.5mm port is not a big deal as they include a converter. Which is part of my headphone now. Bonus - they give a screen protector from the factory and a transparent cover (not the best) but will keep you going for some time. Negative - The annoying Interface, which I replaced by google now launcher and many bloatware which stays behind. I have seen this in Huawei as well. The loudspeaker is average. Overall due to the awesome audio transmission quality and affordable price, its perfect for me.
