Performance is great, ram is plenty and the screen is great. The downside is I don't really like the way the grip feels and the triggers are oddly taller than the shoulders

This handheld gaming device is absolutely phenomenal - if only EA sports games worked properly on it! The build quality is premium - this thing feels like it could survive a drop from space and still keep gaming. The controls are perfectly positioned, the battery life is genuinely impressive for this power, and SteamOS makes the experience clean and gaming-focused. But here's the deal-breaker that's keeping me from giving 5 stars: EA sports games simply don't work well here. As someone who lives for F1 racing and EA Sports FC

"The jump to 32GB of RAM makes a massive difference for multitasking and demanding titles. The Ryzen Z1 Extreme paired with SteamOS is a match made in heaven—it feels much smoother and more console-like than Windows-based handhelds. The 8" 120Hz screen is gorgeous, and having 1TB of space right out of the box means I don't have to worry about my library size immediately. Highly recommend for anyone serious about portable PC gaming."

Very capable handheld. Love the steamos capability. Battery life could be better, but i can still get a couple hours between charges

I bought this for my wife who works at home in her office desk/room. When she logs off and goes to the couch, she just wants a simple turn on and play games on steam. This is where Legion Go S has been a game changer, first SteamOS. This is a very simple sleep/wake up system, my wife just pushes the on/off button and boom, SteamOS there, no login, no windows 10/11 annoyance, just games ready to go. The only major downside there are some games steamOS does not support, however we have yet to play anything she can not, def recommend for a quick game sesh on the couch/TV (plug in and forgot style)

I bought this as an open-box deal and saved a little over $100 off MSRP. In my opinion, the Legion Go S (SteamOS) is the best handheld you can get right now. It may not have OLED, but it does support VRR, which I think is more important on a handheld. Performance is excellent, and upgrading the SSD isn’t too difficult. Just clone your existing SSD to the new one (you’ll need an enclosure), swap it in, and don’t panic if the screen stays black for a minute—it will eventually boot and startup times will be much faster. The 8" screen size feels perfect. By comparison, the 7" ROG Ally X is too small, and the 7.4" Steam Deck OLED is close but not quite there. I added Dbrand joystick covers and the KillSwitch case (highly recommended), plus a matte screen protector since the display is very reflective. This isn’t my primary gaming device, so raw performance isn’t my top priority—I just wanted something more powerful than the Steam Deck OLED. SteamOS is also a much better handheld experience than Windows, especially since Windows sleep mode is still unreliable. My advice: only buy this on sale, ideally open-box. At full MSRP, it’s overpriced.

Was a bit skeptical at first since it was Lenovo, but the O.S. was great. Once i figured out how to swap between Steam and Windows i was able to run what i needed. I'm not typically one for hand-held gaming but that worked out quite well once i re-adjusted. The games i chose to run(Helldivers2, ARC Raiders) were well with the parameters of playability even with having under half the power im used to running. So over all i thoroughly enjoyed the system

With STEAMos and the Z1 extreme chip, this handheld is pretty fast at playing games. I feel like for the money spent, it was worth it. I can play metro exodus, south of midnight, and several other newer games and they look great on the screen here, not to nenthon it feels great in hand. It may not be for everyone, but being a busy dad of a two year old, its for me. A good way to still get to enjoy what i love!

Runs very well - been doing a lot of emulation and programming on it. The controls work very well. It does feel big in your hands, but very quick to get used to it

Got this because I wanted an alternative to laptop/pc gaming and it’s honestly a beast- great performance speeds, graphics are very good, and it doesn’t overheat. The battery is decent, I get prob 2 hours on a high performance game before needing to charge, but recharges fast. Overall I recommend.

I was on the fence on what handheld to get, there is a lot of competition out there and some are less expensive. This handheld was a little more than the others but I can see why, it runs the games smoothly, and I like the fact that it boots into steam making the gaming experience very easy and pleasant. I’m happy with my purchase, and it’s amazing how far handleds have come in the last few years.

Got it on sale for Black Friday and I will it handles all the games that I throw at it. The fans actually don’t bother me as others say in their reviews but the battery life does suck so I have to play with the charger plugged in. I will say if this device had a larger touchpad it would be amazing

I’ve been using it non stop. It’s amazing. I wish there was a way the battery lasted more but it’s still amazing. Great quality and silent.

The Legion Go S can also adjust the active performance profile and fan speed of the device based on your needs. To start press the hexagonal options key located on the right controller, then select the performance tab represented by the rocket ship, from here you can adjust the performance mode. We suggest using Quiet Mode which will extend battery life so you can enjoy gaming hours on end.

This is ALMOST perfect. The performance is definitely there but I truly wish it had a bigger battery. Other than that this is an amazing handheld.

Been wanting to find a portable platform to play steam games on the go for a while now. Was between this item, Asus Rog, and Steam Deck. I have been very happy with this platform, running most of my steam library on medium graphics settings, some games run maxed out. The battery life depends on the game your playing with most of the time I can play about 6-7 1/2 hours before having to get on the charger. The screen resolution is very sharp with the ergonomic profile fitting great in hands. If you are between this and steam deck, I would choose this option for convenience, ergonomics, and display size.

Please keep in my the size of your hands. I have average sized hands for a woman, with slightly short thumbs, but nothing crazy. Yet it was impossible to comfortably game on this. I am so sad that I had to return it because the screen was gorgeous, steam os was great, I really liked it. Yes, the tiny touchpad was slightly difficult to use, but I would have loved to keep this. However, this was apparently made only for people with large hands in mind because I tried playing for ages on several different games and, not only did it *hurt* my hands to use, the buttons were spaced in such a way as to make me clumsy with my gaming. I've not had this issue on other controllers, including the Xbox controller, something about this was just not made for anyone with average or small hands to use. All the reviews that say this is ergonomic actually mean it's only ergonomic for, let's be honest, male hands, which is an absolute shame that they couldn't find a middle ground for the button spacing.

Wanted this as an upgrade to my Steam Deck OLED — bigger screen and more RAM is noticeable. Its definitely a beefier device than the Deck, but its so comfortable to hold that you’d never notice. Only complaint is that there aren’t many accessories for it, particularly cases, which makes transporting it a little bit of a pain.

This in my opinion is the best handheld on the market as of now. Definitely worth it. Has made me start gaming a lot more. From the ergonomics to the ease of use and power. This thing has loaded every game I've thrown at it right up and played amazing with little to no tweaks.
