    Fun twist on Rock Band

    Posted .

Not a lot of songs, but the ones on there are fun (Ghostbusters, Walkin' on Sunshine). There are some really great features for kids, especially the younger ones who still would have difficulty with even the no-fail settings. I bought the Wii version for my nephews (10, 7, and 4). Now the 4 year old can play like his big brothers. We had so much fun playing with the boys that I bought it for our PS3. We, like many others, have had difficulty downloading the songs onto the PS3, but I hope that's a kink that will get worked out soon. Overall, great purchase.

A lot of fun to play with

I got this game for my nephews and niece as an alternative to Rock Band 2. Their parents would not let them play with Rock Band 2 simply because the songs were full of foul language. They were very excited when they got it. The game has two parts. You can either just play an arena or you can play the adventure game. In the adventure, you have to play a certain number of gigs with a varying number of songs per gig. As you move along and score well, you unlock things you can buy as well as unlock new arenas. I've read reviews where the graphics weren't so great and that the lyrics are unreadable. I don't know what kind of TV those reviewers used, but when the kids put in on an old giant screen TV (before LCD and Plasma TV ever came out), the words were very readable. The only shortcoming about this game is that the number of songs is limited, so you end up playing the same songs over and over again. I guess Lego couldn't get the license like the makers of Rock Band and Rock Band 2 could. Despite this shortcoming, my nephews and niece enjoyed it immensely. They didn't even mind that they were singing the same songs over and over again and they didn't want to stop playing. Overall, this is a fun game for the kids. Even some adults will actually enjoy it.

    Great For Kids

    Posted .

Lego Rock Band let me let my (young) kids play Rock Band without me worrying about the Teen content of regular versions of the game. I liked that we could all play on different skill levels so that the game can be challanging to all of us at once (same as on the other versions of the game). Super easy mode let the kids hit ANY note to get credit. The 5 negative reviews I saw posted as of the time I'm writing this all focused on the buyer not knowing that the game requires Rock Band compatable equipment (guitars, drums, etc) - so be aware.

    Don't be Fooled

Got the run around and lots of bad information via the computer reps and even the customer service rep on the 800 number. The game is really fun, but only after you purchase instruments and a mic. Messed up Christmas with not knowing this information. After an additional $155 spent at another store because Best Buy DID NOT have any instruments or bundles to support the Wii game, everyone was happy. How can I recommend this item that is not supported well by Best Buy. NEXT Christmas will definitely be different.

Great Rock Band game for kids

    Posted .

Picked this up as an add-on to RockBand2, to give the kids a more family-friendly version. My kids (10 and 12) are both into music (piano lessons, band, etc.), and have taken to this game like fish to water. They haven't needed the "super easy" mode, but I can see where that would be fun for a mixed group (grandparents??). They can handle easy-mode without any trouble, and can tackle medium on most songs. This one looks like it will get played a LOT at our house!

    AWESOME!!!

Bought for my 8 year old. He & his friends (and us adults) are having a blast!! We purchased a guitar and microphone to go with the game. Now, of course, he's wanting the drums. :o) This is great fun for all and I would recommend it to anyone who love music, or just enjoys their kids having a good time.

    Lots of Fun!!

We popped it in today and had a blast playing. I own all of the other Rock Band games and this one definitely has one of the better sound tracks. It is a shame it is getting a lower rating than it actually deserves because people do not understand that Rock Band games need Rock Band controllers.

    Need accessories...unable to locate :-(

    Posted .

We bought this for a 7 year old. We don't have the guitar/drums...they are needed to play with the game. They aren't available. I wish it would have had a bigger note, stating that they are needed to use the game. It was the big present from Grandma & Grandpa...they want to know how he likes it and don't understand that he needs additional (out of stock items) to play the game. Parents that have bought other Lego/wii items wouldn't be aware that the other controllers are needed.

would have never bought the game if would have know needed band equipment to even play the darn game. Cant play it until spend another $100 on guirtar. Oh and you cant get ahold of the guitar so unknown when will ever be able to play the game. Waste of money. Best buy needs to update assesories on this to say need band equipment very misleading. Required accessories

    Posted .

Additional accessories such as guitar or microphone are needed to play this game. There was nothing on the box that says it required such and such accessories to work.....Packaging was misleading and unclear. So we had to buy another game that had microphone included in it just to make the Lego rock band game playable.

'Worst Christmas Present Ever" said my 9 y/o.

I looked up the game & didn't see any extra requirements. Also back of game shows 4 players on regular controller icon. Can't find guitar within 100 miles of my zip and everyone is out of stock online! Crazy that a $50 game requires a $60 guitar to play. He opened it before we realized so we can't take back. :(
