It's a great way to get more Rock Band to import into the regular games while also being a fun spin on the RB formula itself.

I got this game so I can get the trophies and also play The Final Countdown, one of my favorite songs. This game would be great for kids, it has a feature were you can choose to pick the song for the smaller version of the song or have the regular length. The office area and rock stage is the best I've seen out of all Rock Band titles.

    Family-friendly playlist!

We are big fans of Rock Band and we've been even bigger fans of LEGO video games. When the two combined, we hoped the merge would be a good one. It was--and in many ways it was better than we expected. The pre-loaded characters are wonderful; none are skanky. And being able to create a character makes the game more fun (and a lot like Rock Band 2). The game is a perfect way to introduce much younger kids to the Rock Band experience, too, with it's extra easy setting. The playlist is so good that it's worth the price of the game, especially if there's a sale. We were inclinde to import the playlist into RB2 the way we did with RB1, but the kids like the LEGO version so much (characters, options, animations, challenges, etc.) that we won't be doing so. They have a point: the game (as a stand-alone game) is priceless. If anyone is hesitant to pick up and play (or allow) a Rock Band game for the family, this game removes any of those concerns.

Our family loves Rock Band and Lego games in general and when we found out that Lego Rock Band was coming out we new it was a must have for us. My wife and I have played Rock Band since the first one and have always loved it. Our kids love playing as well but it's too hard for my eight year old, but Lego Rock Band has a Super Easy mode that allows younger or new players to simply hit any note in time (without hitting the correct color) and get it right. Additionally, there is an option for automatic kick drum for those who have trouble with it. Lastly, instead of failing a song (in regular play mode, not challenges) your Lego meter runs out and you have to refill to keep your score up so you don't fail out of a song. There is a great selection of songs to choose from but as always there are a few that some people aren't going to like. The Challenges are a lot of fun and our kids constantly want to go back and do them. This game combines the game play of Rock Band and adds in the lighthearted fun of the Lego games. The game plays pretty much exactly like the other Rock Band games with a few modifications for younger or new players. There are also a lot of customization options for your Lego Band as you progress through the game. You get to hire staff, buy new parts (clothes and such) for your band members and more. There are a few features that some player might miss from Rock Band 2 (such as online play) but keep in mind the target audience here, it's a family game. The upside is that you can play some of your downloaded content from the first two game and you can export all the tracks from Lego Rock Band to the other games ($10 fee for that). Some people might disagree with a 5 star rating but I'm reviewing it for what it was intended to be and I think it has exceeded all of our expectations for a family Rock Band game.

I got this game on Black Friday. Great Game. opened it up put it in my PS3 and was off and running. love the tracks it came with. its fun playing in story mode building enviroments and getting lego characters, good all around fun with my family. love the no kick pedal mode. nice change for kids to play easy and have fun. Its awesome you have all the same modes as you would with RB2. love to create my own lego characters by customization. only problem I have with this game is that you cannot play online with others! GOOD Game GREAT BUY. for your rockband collection

I don't play a lot of video games, but ...

I bought this with rock band 2 for the PS3 for my kids (9,6 and 5) as a Christmas present. Rock band 2 was a litle racy for my kids, but lego rock band has a fairly PG selection of music that most families would be comfortable with. The lego characters are comical and the varieties of level of play are sufficient to encompass my 5 year old who just loves to beat the drums and my wife who sings semi-professionally (she now prefers to play the guitar). When I sat down to play this with my kids, I thought, "Well, there goes the rest of my life".

    Excellent Music Game Platform

Lego Rock Band is a welcome addition to the Rock Band platform. I have been looking forward to it both for the songs themselves as well as a way to play Rock Band with younger relatives. Harmonix has a rating system on all its songs such that it is able to filter out all downloaded songs from other Rock Band titles that are not appropriate for younger children. The game was cute and interesting in and of itself, but to me the main draw is to be able to load it up and not have to worry about kids playing inappropriate songs.

Good game with great selections. I like how they only offer songs that are appropriate for children and the other songs from the rock band music network are prohibited. You also can purchase a key to transfer the songs to your PS3 so the songs can be played on Rock Band 2. Too bad it's $10 unlike a $5 price tag for transferring Rock Band to Rock Band 2.

I just picked up Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock recently. Me and my fiancee like playing these games together, but that specific Guitar Hero (while very good) didn't have a lot of songs she liked to sing. So I saw this on sale for $15. It's great. Lots of fun, not-so-heavy-metal songs on it.

I dont know what more I can say. Lets not go crazy and over analyze this game. Its a bunch of Lego people playing great songs. You shouldnt expect more or less. However there is more. There is a great leveling system and an outstanding career mode. I really was blind sided by how much fun this is. Enjoy with the whole family.

Brian, first, this game is not being developed by Harmonix. It is being developed by TT Games and is being published by Warner Bros. Second, how can you say that the other games are bad when they have over a billion dollars in sales? Couple the great songs that have already been confirmed as being in the game with the ability to export the songs to the hard drive to play in Rock Band 2 makes this game an easy purchase for any Rock Band fan. Now if you are a Guitar Hero fan, then you will probably prefer their game model which is to swap discs when you want to play other songs.
