After literally hours of removing Bloatware and the ever famous Super Fish virus this could be a decent computer. Will run up to 16gb RAM which is decent. The A-8 is a little sub par. This would be a decent laptop for young teenagers or grandparents. It will allow you to complete the basics and be responsive enough. Dont plan on gaming or medium to heavy work loads though. Overall this had great potential. But in my opinion I will not buy another Lenovo after the amount of crapware they pre-instal that most common folks will not be able to find/remove.

At under 300, this laptop has all the features a typical user needs. The screen is of course not very high-res. The HDD is a bit noisy and slow. However, the overall build is very good. Casing feels sturdy and solid. You can open the lid without lifting the base, which is a sign of good design. Windows 8.1 is good enough.

This is a decent laptop that runs well and does what I want it to do. Better than most cheap tablets or chromebooks since I leave the laptop plugged and set to sleep mode. Keyboard is good but the mouse button can be better since I hate the loud click it makes.
The biggest downside is the battery life as many have mentioned. It charges fast but the battery will only last between 3-3.5 hours. You would be lucky to make it in four.
Overall, for what I paid for it, It's a good buy.

This laptop has more memory and a lower price point than many other models I was considering.. very good workmanship, and the AMD processor is just as good as an Intel. Unless you are doing serious graphics design, this is a great laptop and an outstanding calue. Could not be happier.

I bought this after comparing the other computers in the same price range. This had more features such as A8 processor, 6gb memory, great sound and lightweight.
Only con- the size. My preference is this was trending like other computers in size and had 13 size lcd screen.

Computer runs fast no issues with it. I bought to use because my desktop crashed, and I didn't want to spend alot on a new computer, and found this for around 250. It has worked great for me. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great computer at a great price.

Great Laptop for Middle School Student and Gamer

I purchased this laptop for my middle school son since he was always on my wife's or my own Laptop gaming or doing his homework. This laptop has the best of both worlds. It has enough speed and memory for the games that my son likes to play as well as it came with a 1 year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 which I used on all of my family's computers. Great value for price.

The lenovo G50 comes packed with lots of bloatware. It took me over an hour to hunt down and remove all the garbage they had installed. Some of the bloatware installed is highly suspect. It gets flagged as malicious by the antivirus software. The laptop runs slow for having 6gb of ram and 2 hr battery life if lucky. I ended up returning this laptop and going with an HP x360

Good laptop - bad Lenovo software

Physically, these laptops are excellent basic units. The AMD A8 processor is capable of fast web browsing and other basic tasks. While little about this laptop is exceptional, everything piece is of good quality. The hard drive is actually quite fast considering its not an SSD, and the screen, keyboard, and track pad are all fine. Throw in 6 GB of RAM, Bluetooth, a card reader, and a DVD drive and these units are very versatile.
However, Lenovo's pre-installed software is terrible. I took off 1 star for it. Not only does it slow the machine down, but it also creates vulnerabilities to hacking. Thankfully, I was able to download Windows 8.1 directly from Microsoft, burn it to a DVD, and re-install Windows in less than an hour. Now the laptop boots in 24 seconds compared to 115 seconds originally due to Lenovo's bloatware.
Summary: Buy it for the hardware and immediately re-install Windows.

Lenovo put together a great laptop. The processor and ram were big selling points as you get AMD A8 processor and 6 gigs of ram. Does everything I need it to do without a hitch. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable laptop with high end specs.

Not fancy, not a lot of googaws. But for the money it does the basic things and does them relatively quickly. Was what I was looking for. The key board is not as clumsy to use as others in the price range. And the best part about it was I didn't have to deal with an online presence to answer my questions. I could speak to someone in person in the store.

I was looking for a laptop for my son that had a bit more than the basics for a good price. This Lenovo for the bill with enough memory and hard drive space. It's not meant to be a gaming laptop but he can do everything he needs. No touchscreen on this model but we just didn't really need it.

One great laptop, Speedy, snappy, and sleek. I usually purchase brand name electronics but Lenovo has won me over thus far with this product. I got this as an extra computer to complete work tasks and video editing on the go. So far its handling everything im running it threw. First time on the newer Windows OS and im loving it thus far. Great PC.

Needed to unexpectedly purchase an unbudgeted computer. Needed least expensive comp I could find. This Lenovo has been great so far - not slow, clear, crisp screen, comfortable keyboard with added bonus of a number pad which is sometimes hard to find on a laptop. Slim design is convenient, although a little heavy. Plenty of USB ports, disk drive, and Bluetooth so I can play music thru my Bluetooth speaker. If you're looking for a comp for Internet use, word processing/spreadsheets, etc (I purch Microsoft 365 for about $50), and uploading pics, this is a great comp for general use. Lenovo is excellent quality.

I'm a very tech savvy person and my old trusty Toshiba daily laptop finally gave out. I was looking for something cheap since I only use this laptop for web browsing, iTunes, and other basic functions. It sits on my coffee table for me and the wife to get on for basic tasks. I love the Lenovo I bought for my music production so I decided to try their laptops. It's a really good basic laptop. The best thing about it is the power plug. This is a solid, square (almost USB shaped) plug and I don't have to wore about the standard laptop plug issue where the inner connection wears out and it won't stay connected all the time. This plug is designed very well! Great laptop for under $300!
