I'm very glad that I ended up going with the bigger screen, I can do everything on it. I was concerned with it not having a disk drive, but there is a USB disk drive that comes with it so I didn't have to buy a separate one.

First, there are some serious issues with the wifi adapter. It will connect but it isn't capable of speed past 200kbps. After realizing the issue and doing a bit of research it seems to be a somewhat common issue with this adapter. Wired Internet works fine, but most people who want a laptop want the freedom of being wireless. Second, the screen is pretty awful. There is a lot of light bleed from the backlighting. Seems like very poor quality. I'd expect better from Lenovo. For the price, there are much better options available. I returned this laptop and will be ordering a MSI laptop instead.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this laptop as a replacement for a Lenovo Thinkpad that had to be sent in for repair less than a year after being purchased new. After 3 days of having the Y70 it started having start-up issues, drained a full battery after 1 hour, and generally did not perform as I would expect from a new $1300 machine! If you want something reliable and simply works for year after year, invest in a Macbook.
