We are extremely satisfied with the Edge 15 laptop from Lenovo. Although it didn't boast the highest graphics card or 16 GB of RAM, I have almost never seen it lag, become bogged down over-cacheing, or lock up. It is powerful to run video, audio and streams seemlessly (We are using Uverse wireless with 21 MBPS. Also, Windows 10 OS which came free with our purchase when it became available allows efficient Windows 7 style operation; and, to me, suits this laptop well.

I purchased this laptop in Dec 2014 at the suggestion of a sales associate at the Best Buy. From the beginning I was leery. It took forever for setup with all the updates and such. I even took the laptop back to Best Buy convinced I might find something better. This was the product they advocated for and the rep assured me it was a good deal/laptop.
I needed the laptop primarily for my college coursework which includes taking online exams. Two weeks into my purchase, I had to take an exam and the exam would not load on this laptop. The college's testing center tried trouble-shooting with no luck. Although I had not installed much on the laptop at this point, I did a factory reset. As soon as it was done, I tried again to access my course exam. Again, no luck. I consulted a family member who is a computer tech and she remoted in and tried to figure out the problem as well. No luck. I contacted Lenovo (after searching all over their website), was rerouted and then promised a call back. Fast forward a week later...yes I'm too busy with a family, work and school to call and sit on hold everyday...I contacted Lenovo support again. Once again I was rerouted, lost the call/hung up on, and finally I reached a tech that actually understood my dilemma. To back up a little, the tech from the previous week was trying to say I would need to pay for support. My argument was that there was a preinstalled program on the laptop causing the problem and I did not feel I should have to pay to identify and remove it. This tech removed the SUPERFISH adware that Lenovo preinstalled. He mentioned he had a previous caller about 1 week prior with a similar issue. He could not solve her problem but it bothered him so he researched it on his own time.
Aside from SUPERFISH, the laptop is cheaply made. My touchscreen is separating in one corner and the hinge is bent on the opposite side. I did not purchase an extended warranty because I am the only user of my laptop and I have never had physical deficiences before. When I transport my laptop it's in a cushioned laptop bag as well. I noticed the hinge the first time I flipped my laptop into the stand mode (which now it won't do). There is no reason why after only 2 months my laptop should falling apart. The bad part is that until I finish my schoolwork, I cannot afford to send it in for repairs.
I will never recommend a Lenovo laptop to anyone. I've always heard good things about them but they must be slipping. Just from reading the press releases regarding Superfish, I am unconvinced Lenovo's priority is customer service and retention.

I have 3 of these for my business and so far, everyone is happy with them. The bloatware needs to be removed before adding any of your own content. I have run into a minor (I hope) issue with a USB headset not working on any of the 3 laptops but working fine on other brands - still looking into that issue. the display is very good and the speed is acceptable. It would be great to have a 2nd hard disc slot for a SSD for quick boots which would make it work more like a tablet. I have a few comments about going into a customer presentation and needing a VGA - I guess it's adapter time. Battery life is pretty good and the on board wifi gets good reception.

Bought this computer for my middle schooler. This product is easy to use, lightweight and full of the basics need for students. Also, the flip function allows them to easily use the touch screen functions.

This laptop computer has all I was looking for. It is very light compared to my old laptop. It almost felt too light when I first got it. The weight in my backpack isn't too heavy on my shoulder. The screen is full HD and very clear and brilliant! The system is as fast, or faster, than the one I was replacing (see below). The laptop is very thin at less than 1/2 inch in height. The housing and shell are metal and protect the computer well. The metal construction make the thinness (is that a word?) very solid.
I went down to an i5 processor dual core from an i7 quad core. I did make slight modification even though it was already fast and, I think, as fast as the older i7. I made the changes due to all the activity the laptop will have to endure during my travels (I tend to be a bit clumsy and drop things).
I replaced the 1 TB HDD with a Kingston 480 GB HyperX Savage Solid State Drive (1 TB SSDs are still a bit pricy). I like speed, so I also replaced the standard 6 GB of RAM with 16 GB of Kingston HyperX RAM. I can say that I did not keep the shipped RAM, drive, and OS. I bought the hardware upgrades before I the laptop. Actually, when I got home from Best Buy, the SSD and RAM were delivered 10 minutes earlier. I bought the SSD and RAM direct from Kingston with free overnight shipping.
The battery is large enough to keep me going all day without a recharge. With the power profile configured for maximum battery life, the system does not appear to be running slower than usual, but the display is dimmer; as it should be if you are trying to stretch the battery charge. On my last flight to Japan I got almost 9 hours of work and watching movies and other videos before I needed to find the charger buried in my backpack. For me, the one drawback that can impact travelers is the battery cannot be swapped out for a fully charged one. The battery is internal with no access other than opening up the back. All of my other laptops had swappable batteries.
For those who want to upgrade the system, it is quite simple. The cover on the bottom of the laptop exposes the battery, drive, and RAM. The last Lenovo I had required removing the keyboard and then carefully disconnecting a variety of wires, ribbons, and protective covers. Upgrades on this laptop are very simple. There are 11 small screws securing the back cover. once removed, changes in hardware are fast and easy.
This is a great inexpensive laptop! It cost me about $700. It's fast, thin, light, easily upgradable, and does have excellent video resolution and saturation. I had a Lenovo laptop for about 4 years until it tried to drink Coke Zero through the keyboard. I'm not sure how it was able to do that! One little flash of the screen and it died. I bought a Samsung laptop to replace it, and now I'm back to Lenovo.
This laptop has been one of my best buys of the year. All the features make this well worth the money, and I would recommend this to my family and friends without hesitation!
By the way, booting from a battery and fully shut down, it is about 7.5 seconds from pushing the power button to the login screen. Even before the upgrade in hardware boot time was slightly over 16 seconds.

My 5 1/2 year old HP laptop wouldn't load Windows 7 at all, so took it to the Geek Squad. They confirmed it was the Mother Board, which had already been replaced, within the last 2 years under warranty. It wasn't worth putting money into it at that age, so right on the spot I had to replace it. Looked for another HP, and the i7 was discontinued, and figures at the great price they had on it. So, looked at the lenovo i5, and was also a great price for a machine with lots of bells and whistles. Got it home, and got right onto it. My 8 year old Granddaughter was visiting for a couple of days, so she got onto it as well. Needless to say, I lost my machine for the rest of the time we had her visiting. We both love it, and I am not sorry about the purchase price at all. Of coarse, the internet site had the Geek Squad cheaper, and I got sixty some dollars back there. Then a week later, the price went down another $110.00 plus tax back yet again. Made the price of $699.99 plus tax of the machine look a whole lot better. I could afford to also get the extra 2 programs I wanted, with a new wireless printer, along with an external DVD Rom for it. The DVD ROM was only thing I was upset over loosing with the purchase of the machine, was not having an internal DVD ROM. The prices on the externals are very affordable, and doesn't need to be connected at all times. Love this unit, and would highly recommend it!!!

This laptop was well worth what I spent on it, "which actually was a much better value than most"! It is extremely fast using the 'Intel Core i5', a good durable "not so heavy" weight, has an awesome Touch Screen ability, features a backlit keyboard (which comes in handy when you are typing in the dark!), plenty of space with "6 GB Memory" and "1 TB Hard Drive", also, this "Lenovo Edge 15" laptop's '300° hinge' allows you to make smooth transitions between laptop and stand modes and it offers many extra great features, (too many too list)! There are so many other options that you would NOT believe would actually be available on this laptop for the minimal price you are paying for it! "WONDERFUL Laptop" for the $$ and a "Must Have" whether you are a "Beginner or Pro"!

First off, we couldn't beat the price and found the Lenovo to have superior build quality over the similar laptops. Had it updated on running Win10 in minutes. Not overly portable for use as a tablet, but if you want a tablet, but one. Overall a great purchase.

The sales person highly recommended this laptop; my daughter currently has it because I had it upgraded to windows 10 and I am currently doing webinars online with a talent development company and they don't support windows 10. So I have traded laptops with my daughter because her laptop has windows 8.1 and I can access the webinars I need to take. But my daughter told me that my grandkids love the touch screen when they are doing ABC Mouse; and she has not given me any complaints about it. Once I get it back and utilize it on a regular basis my rating could possibly be higher.

I am learning to use this computer. I like the lighted keyboard, It seem to be difficult to shut off every time I pull it out to use the battery is dead and I have to charge it before it before I can use it. I hold the power button in till the lights go off but iI guess it is not all the way off. I think I still need to study and learn more about my computer
