I'm an IT professional and bought this for my non-techie girlfriend to replace her old laptop. She uses her laptop daily in the evenings to finish work from home, and loves the features on this model. It's fast and finds the 2 in 1 flexibility extremely convenient. There was a small learning curve from WinXP to Windows 10, but now she loves the touchscreen features.
I'd recommend for an everyday medium user, but gamers or serious power users may want more power and speed.

Edge2 - Best laptop for the money

This is a small business (computer idiot) only review. But if you are a wannabe gamer, you might learn a thing or two also. If you're a geek, there's nothing in here for you.
I used to just buy a computer with the latest/greatest/fastest graphics chips in it on the belief that if the chip can process all that high volume digital data, it's probably a great machine for my simple business apps: Microsoft Office etc. I do a lot of spreadsheet reports, number crunching, data mining, graphics, photo and advertising layouts for my business. Like any small business, I don't have specialized departments, personnel or machines. Can't afford them. I need a computer that is pretty good (fast) at everything but can't be awful at anything. Now, take that old school thought (just buy a new machine with the latest graphics card) and throw it out the window.
From what I read, chip technology, specifically processing speed (clock speed), is fast approaching the atomic limits of fabricating faster and faster chips. It doesn't mean a new computer won't be faster than your old dinosaur, but the new machine might not impress you with its "speed" as much as it did in the past. As a result of this flattening clock speed curve, the "all round good chip" they used to put in most computers may not get it done for you anymore. Unless you're still running a Commodore 64, you might not feel your new machine runs that much faster than your current machine. Buyers need to be more discerning today and match what they do or want to do with the computer to the computer. Manufacturers today are building computers with chips designed for specific purposes. If you're a gamer, for example, you need a machine designed for gaming. If you're an online gamer, you might even need a different machine. If the computer is for business, my case, paying more for the latest/greatest gaming computer might be a waste of money.
Case in point:
Best Buy makes it easy for you to tap into the Internet via their wifi connection, which might not be the fastest connection, but it's a connection and the connection is the same for every machine. So, I felt it was a fair apples to apples comparison when jumping from one machine to the next. I logged into some of my cloud based business apps and began "working". I was stunned to see the HUGE differences between downloading/uploading speeds and online working speeds. More than a few new machines were slower than my current dinosaur. The latest "gaming" machines were a lot more money but didn't perform online any better than the Lenovo Edge2 that I wound up purchasing. For what I do and need to do, dollar for dollar, it was the best machine for the money.
The other VERY distinct difference I noticed was the Intel chips universally outperformed the same machine with AMD chips. I'm not technical enough to know why. Maybe the AMD chips are better at gaming or other tasks than the apps I was using. That's the best thing about Best Buy... You get to drive before you buy!
Anyway, I love Best Buy. I buy everything there from computers to TV's to Home Entertainment to refrigerators, washers/dryers there. Their service is the best! By the way, their on-site computer service is ridiculously good! Just call and make an appointment (usually same day). Bring in your machine and they will tell you what's wrong with it and fix it. If you're an Elite member, there's usually no charge if it's just a basic tune up or malware clean-up.
I found Best Buy's pricing as competitive as anything online. But at their bricks and mortar stores, I get to feel, touch and test out before I buy. I truly do not know why anybody would buy anything Best Buy sells online. Unless you can build what they sell for less yourself, their service is worth it weight in gold! Good Luck. I hope you find this review helpful.
P.S. if anything I said is off base on the technical side.... remember I'm just a computer idiot. I just buy them and use them. I don't sell 'em, fix 'em, build 'em and don't have a dog in the hunt. Just trying to help. Feel free to correct any mis-statements. And don't anything against me. tk

This is a very solid and nice Laptop Combo. I bought this as an early gift for my fiancé and she has been on it ever since. The graphic card is awesome. The memory is enough for gaming. The touch screen is perfect. She loves the backlit keyboard.

This computer was shown to me along with 3 other computers by different companies.. After listening to the salesman telling me the features and price of each, I decided this computer best met my needs. Price was a consideration in the purchase. I am still struggling with Windows 10.

Love the touchscreen or keyboard option. The backlit keyboard is not as bright as my HP but fair enough. Love the super slim, lightweight design, along with being able to fold it and still use it.
I do hate the amount of updates it requires and slow on processing the updates. At times the screen just blacks out and not sure why.

My daughter needed a new laptop for college. We looked at everything this laptop had to offer along with her usage needs and it is more than a perfect fit. Speed and local storage was a big need and with the added touch screen as a bonus she was was extremely pleased.
She has no excuse for not having her work done.lol

I bought this computer for my wife for Christmas. When we activated the computer, we got a message, Critical Win 10 download required. Downloaded the win 10 files and the wifi ability was totally destroyed. Took it two times to Geek Squad and they could not fix it, and sent me home with a new computer, a duplicate of my original purchase. Same thing exactly happened, critical download destroyed my wifi and they could not fix it.
I returned, yet again, andI asked what computer the a Geek Squad would choose and I was told by two of the squad to get an Asus which cost another $300.00.
Bought the Asus and took it home, and got the same critical download message, which installed flawlessly, and smooth sailing ever since.
This required a total of 4 round trips from my home to Best Buy in another town to the tune of approximately 450 miles, for which Best Buy never offered repayment nor apology.
Caveat Emptor!

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Edge 2. We are pleased to hear that the performance of the Edge 2 meets your computing needs so well. With regard to battery life, check your power settings in your control panel for a setting that extends the battery life to an area closer to yours needs. You may want to try the "economy" setting.

I use it more like a laptop with the keyboard versus a touch screen. Best Buy did a great job of getting it all set up the way I wanted it. It has a soft touch keyboard which I like. My only issue is that I don't like the huge "mouse" touch pad. I keep hitting it and bouncing around. Can't seem to figure out how to turn it off - need the Geek Squad!

Love the touchscreen, Windows 10 isn't bad, and this laptop supports everything I wanted in a thin form factor: SD Cards, USB 3.0 connections, Blue Tooth (Connect phone to send photos directly), WIFI , Ethernet, HDMI Out (Connect to a TV), Headphone Jack (Private Movie Watching in Public Spaces), Replaced HD with an SSD at time of purchase (Think FAST Boot 8sec or less boot screen and into windows)
Only Negative was sometimes the video driver tries to update and it messes up the wake from sleep function. If not for this, it would be 5 Stars.. I bought mine open box.. No Other Issues Found after 2 months of use!

I like the touch of the keyboard and the fact and that i can adjust the brightness of the screen to suit conditions where I am working.. It's took me about a week to adjust and get comfortable from my former HP computer to the new Lenovo Edge 2.
