Customers commend the IdeaPad 130 for its budget-friendly price, with many stating it's worth the cost. The 15.6-inch screen size is also well-received, as are the inclusion of a DVD drive and solid-state storage. However, the laptop is criticized for its slow performance, short battery life, and limited RAM.

Bought this to surf the web. Should have bought a chrome book.

It takes like 1-2 min just to launch chrome.
It takes almost 3 minutes to launch excel, word, any program you name it. And yes, I am ONLY using one program at a time. I’m patient but this takes the cake for being slower than a first gen iPad.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 130-15 laptop will boot from off to the Windows 10 desktop in less than 40 seconds. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Easy to use. No problems so far. I just use for school work, emails, and watching a movie to professionally ignore people. Volume doesn’t get high though so use a speaker or headphones.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 130-15 laptop is a mid-level, moderate use configuration, with its AMD A9-9425 processor. This Dual-Core processor has a base speed of 3.1GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.7GHz. This configuration has 4GB of DDR4-1866MHz RAM and a 128GB solid state hard drive. It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost.

My laptop was so old but was still my beloved Windows 7. This new one is Windows 10 and I was hesitant. I don't like change but this turned out to be a change for the better. I opted for the solid state and this little puppy flies. For the price it's a great deal.

I would buy this laptop over and over. The only think I don't like about it is the keyboard isn't back-lit. That's the only thing I'd ask for them to change, unless there's a model they sell that I just didn't see hen purchasing this one.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 130-15 laptop ships with a 2CELL 30WH, Lithium Polymer battery, with a battery life of up to 4 hours, depending on the work that the device is performing. To maximize battery life, first adjust your battery saver settings. Here is a link to instruction for doing this in Windows 10: https://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-use-configure-battery-saver-windows-10. Next, to maximize battery life, be sure there are no unwanted programs running in the background, draining the battery. Here is a link to some tips for finding out what is draining your battery: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/battery-saver-windows-10. Also, to maximize battery life, try changing your power management setting to a more conservative one. You can do this in the control panel, in the power management category on your system. Select a more conservative power management setting to extend battery life. Finally, if the battery life does not improve, a battery reset may help. Here is a link to instructions for reconditioning a non-removable battery, using the Battery Management Software installed on the computer. If you need further assistance, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Here is the link: https://windowsreport.com/laptop-battery-not-charging-windows-10/. The SSD makes this boot from power off to win10 logon in 24 seconds flat. Although 128gb seems small it is totally fine for an e-mail and non gaming type pc. I switched it to full win10 and set it up for my older sister for their use and she loves it.

This is a great computer for someone who isn't going to do anything complicated. I'm not saying it can't, just that I wouldn't know. I use it for banking, shopping, browsing the internet, reading on the Kindle app, email, YouTube and a lot of watching Hulu, Netflix and Amazon Prime. I have another computer I bought a couple months ago for the same price and while I'm happy with it, this is definitely my favorite. It's very fast for my needs but like I said I don't do anything complicated and I rarely do more than 1 thing at a time. The screen is really sharp and vivid. Mine is always plugged in, so I wouldn't know about battery life.

I have used this minimally, mainly for one or two purposes since purchasing but it has met all my expectations. The front camera works well, processing speed is expected for what is spec'd. The battery last about 2-2.5 hours on full charge once unpluged. A good buy for someone who doesn't plan to use this laptop many hours in a day.
