The 4g ram is enough for Internet and office. But the laptop has no fan to cool itself. The windows heavy update make the CPU 100% and the surface of the keyboard is very hot. Posted .The Lenovo IdeaPad 130S-11 laptop uses an internal fan to keep the device at the proper operating temperature. You can check to be sure you are running the latest version of Windows 10 and that the supporting BIOS files and drivers are also up to date by scanning the device with the Lenovo Utility software installed on the computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If the issue still continues after these updates, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

Great Starter Laptop

I wasn't looking to break the budget, but wanted windows instead of a chromebook. This won the competition there. So we purchased it. It is a windows and I am a rather tech savvy person so setup was a breeze. The machine works really good for only having 4GB Ram. The Intel processor helps the little thing go smoothly. My personal/work computer I came from had 12GB Ram and an I7 processor, but this little thing doesn't fall too far behind in terms of performance. I like that it can run in Windows S mode. I wanted to give a a few weeks of use before writing a review to let apps and programs get installed and see if loading the memory would bog performance, but so far, so good. So if you are looking at this product and wondering if it "will do", it likely will, especially if its just a personal thing for a teen.

Great for a college student

I am used to using Chromebooks for school as I find they are affordable and easy to use. However, I think that this current laptop is fantastic for school. I like that it came with a free trial of Office 365, and that OneNote was already downloaded onto my system. I've had it for a month now and it has held up very well. At first, there were some glitches with my laptop, and I think that is because I was not used to using Microsoft OS. However, I am very comfortable with it now. This laptop was on sale at the time I purchased it and I couldn't be happier with the bargain that I got.
