The screen is enormous and very life like when watching videos and movies. It super thin and light weight making it easy to transport. It's barely as thick as my cellphone with a case on it. It amazed me with how fast it is online and even on a public network in mid day it zooms through when browsing on the web. And the storage space is huge! There's so much stuff that this little PC will store that it amazed me at times with the amount of videos and music it will hold. I just love my new Lenovo Ideapad 3! I couldn't ask for more than this in a computer. I just love love love it!

Good fast laptop but screen sucks

But the screen is so dull. There's a huge difference between my 14" hp laptop vs this one. And this one has better configuration. I can't figure out why? I've tried changing different settings, but it still sucks. But overall a good laptop if u don't mind a less sharp and vibrant screen.

With a 17 inch display, it provides excellent visual reproduction, and the fast AMD processor coupled with an SSD provides fast startup, while a terabyte hard drive provides plenty of storage space. All in all a dandy general use computer at a size and weight for easy portability. The only drawback is that it does not have a port for connecting to wired Ethernet. An adapter is required that converts an Ethernet plug to a male USB connector, which then allows the Ethernet connection via one of the USP ports on the laptop.

The resolution is not 1080p, no high quality picture for this screen. But the real deal breaker was the battery life. Despite what the specs say on this the real battery life on battery saving mode running only a few chrome tabs and youtube was 4 hours. That's it. If your willing to deal with subpar visuals and having your laptop plugged in the vast majority of the time then you might like this laptop. Otherwise skip it.

This model ships with a 3CELL_42WH_INTERNAL, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 8 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are only getting 4 hours of battery life, be sure Battery Conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It prolongs overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode:

If Battery Conservation Mode is not turned on but battery life is still only 4 hours, check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only those programs you want running are as these background programs drain the battery. Only negative was that salesperson did not know that this Lenovo model had the Windows 10 S version. He said it was Windows 10 Home. It was easy to convert once I got the computer running, but he should have known this. Windows S is useless because no product other than a Microsoft product can be added to the computer. E.g., the Dell peripheral was not recognized at all until I switched to Windows Home. Then it downloaded fine. Shipments of these 2 products came early, very satisfied with the whole process.

Unfortunately, the resolution is just too low for a screen this big for my taste. It is too uncomfortable to read on for very long. I ended up having to return it for this reason. If you do not have to stare at the screen for very long at a time, it might be fine for you, depending on what you're used to.
