I was in the market for a new laptop and planned on purchasing a tablet later on. This Chromebook allows me to have two devices in one. The battery life is great and charges quickly with the charger included. It's easy to use and lightweight.

Nice little Chromebook, plenty fast for basic stuff. Love the nice OLED screen and so far the battery life has been as advertised. Nice that it comes complete with a keyboard cover. One little annoying thing is that the only way to get the screen to AUTOMATICALLY rotate, is to remove the keyboard.

Thanks for choosing Lenovo and for sharing your feedback with us!

We are glad to read that the Duet 5 Chromebook 2-in-1 is working out nicely for you overall. We appreciate you sharing your feedback regarding display rotation. By default, since the system is in "Desktop Mode" when the keyboard is attached, tablet-based features like auto-rotate are temporarily deactivated.

Really nice 2-in-1 tablet with a vibrant OLED screen, sturdy magnetic keyboard and "clicky" trackpad. It's a great portable Chromebook and good tablet. I use it for web-browsing and light note-taking/doodling and it's also good for e-reading (comics and books) in tablet mode. It can handle most games, including Stardew Valley without issue as well. Battery life is excellent, usually only needing a charge every couple days and charging in less than an hour.

This Chromebook is an excellent choice if you are a real estate professional who uses google workspace. I love that it is light weight and that the keyboard is able to be removed. It comes with a snap on case and has a great value. I am going to purchase a stylus so that I can take signatures. Good choice for someone who needs to access google for work and is looking for something light. Beautiful display as well and fast!

Fantastic tablet with incredible battery life! I usually get around 10-12 hours on it depending on what I'm doing. It's really awesome for consuming media as the OLED screen really produces such beautiful colors. I mainly use it for Internet browsing and android apps. The keyboard is nothing fancy, but it does it's job very well for my needs.

Stylish, fast machine with a stellar OLED screen

This is a beautiful piece of hardware. I purchased this over the Duet 3 for the better/bigger screen and double the memory (8Mb vs 4Mb). I wanted a small, light unit because I mainly use it to cast onto my Chromecast and TV in the Livingroom. My old Chromebook is a laptop clamshell design. Very sturdy and rugged. The Duet 5 is neither. It is very fragile and flimsy, best suited for use as a desktop unit, not for use on your lap (if you want to use the keyboard). As a tablet, it is clumsy to use and handle (due to the small screen border causing unintentional touches) and heavy to hold. I accidentally let is slip from my lap onto the tile floor and the minor impact caused the screen to slightly detach from the back. I thought I had cracked the screen. I was able to clip it back together, but I immediately purchased a phone-style case to protect the edges and screen. Now it weighs even more and I can't use the protective magnetic rear skin/kickstand that came with the computer. Aside from those issues, it is a stylish, fast machine with a stellar OLED screen. The mousepad is sensitive and accurate and the detachable keyboard has good tactile feedback and is easy to use, for a flat design. PS: I should have purchased the Duet 3 for my specific application (light weight, small), but the Duet 5 was on sale for the same price and I couldn't resist getting the better overall hardware package.

Two things. This Chromebook does very well. First, the battery life is fantastic. I get well over 12 hours up to 15 hours on a charge. Second, this Chromebook is very fast and doesn't lag at all. I can do all my tasks without worrying about the book lagging at all. I can have 10 tabs open and it's still fine. Half the time I use it as a tablet and it's not that heavy even though the screen it is over 13 inches. I find that it works best having the screen horizontal rather than vertical when using as a tablet.

It's not a perfect laptop nor a perfect tablet but it's pretty darn good at being both. I got the Duet 5 on sale for $379 and at that price, it's a steal. The keyboard attaches effortlessly and feels very secure with a great feel. The battery lasts for days and charges up very quickly. The display is gorgeous. Unlike most affordable Chromebooks, this one has plenty of memory and power to never feel cheap or laggy. I rate it a 10 out of 10!

For the last few years my daily drivers have been a Surface 1 laptop and the OG Lenovo Duet Chromebook. My Surface died, so I zipped over to Best Buy and bought the Duet 5. The OLED screen is better than anything else I own, especially for photos (I'm a photographer). It's fast and efficient at everything; I have Office 365 open all day, and use Adobe Express for graphics. I got the 8gb RAM model, and I can open Chrome tabs all day long without any slowdowns. And the battery life! I charged it overnight when I first got it. I used it hard the next day -- at least 10 hours of active use -- and then moderately the following day. I never shut it off. That second evening, the batter was down to...26%. For reference, I have a reoccurring out-of-the-office gig on Mondays, and previously took both the Surface Laptop for working and the OG Duet for reading and research. The Surface needed to be recharged at least once, and the OG Duet was about dead by the end of the day. The Duet 5 replaced them both, was better to use -- that screen! -- and had another day left in the battery that evening. HIGHLY recommended.

I own the Pixel slate and the HP X2 Chromebook covertibles. This Lenovo has the best screen by far. The keyboard is similar to the HP, but not as good as the Pixel Slate. Ranking them in performance is Pixel Slate, HP and then this Lenovo. Performance is good for all web activities. This is a great device to read on and watch movies etc. Also the portability is excellent. Finally this Lenovo has much better battery life than the Pixel and HP.

Gorgeous OLED screen! Great for watching movies. Extremely light and portable. Excellent device for traveling. Hi quality camera. The 5MP front-facing camera is very good for video meetings. Incredible battery life! I can work on this laptop all day and still have enough battery to watch a movie in the evening. Versatile. I can easily plug in an external monitor and keyboard & mouse to make it into a dual-screen desktop working environment, use it as a laptop, or remove everything and use it as a 13" tablet. It's better than working on an Android tablet or an iPad. I only give it four stars because I wish it were a tad bit faster. It's faster than the Duet 3, but not as fast as other Chromebooks. Overall, it's an excellent value and as my 3rd computer, I find myself using it more than I thought I would.

I am quite experienced with chromebooks. I wanted to try this out, and had a nice discount with a sale and a coupon. I was particularly curious about the OLED screen. I have android phones and have used Chromebooks in the past many times. And that is where I noticed some issues. The lack of a biometric sensor on this device can be a hassle. I was able to pair with android phone to make the unlock a bit easier, but still not as convenient as I would like. When you don't have a biometric sensor like a fingerprint sensor, you really miss it. The screen is nice, And having 2 usb-c ports are really great. A headphone jack would have been even better, I was under the impression the quad speakers would be really good, especially compared to the duet 3. I was very underwhelmed by the speakers--nice clarity but not very loud. For comparison, the Samsung galaxy s7 plus has MUCH louder speakers. I think the other reviews I had were not very accurate here. The screen is quite large and nice. The battery life is excellent as well. But that gets to the final issue--the processor on this device is NOT fast. Its much faster than the processor used in the original duet, but even with 8 gig of ram you can do basic stuff, but more than a few chrome tabs and it will slow down. Given the price and size of the screen, using this processor I think was a mistake. You can install android devices on this--which underscores that chromebooks are still using android 9 as the backbone, while windows 11 machines are way past this now. Not sure why chromebooks are falling behind. Not every extension or web app will work well given the power of the processor, but 8 gig of memory helps. Given the the price of the device when it is not on sale, I would be cautious--it has great battery life, but the speakers and speed will not impress, Most Intel-based Chromebooks will blow past this device, If you just want to consume content, movies are pretty good, the aspect ratio is not as convenient in portrait mode for comics/books/magazines--but its light enough you can still hold it reasonably well. In all, a nice low-end device, but at the MRSP the screen and overall build quality are quite good, but an average processor at best holds it back. The nice thing--at least it should get chrome updates for many years. But, still a bit quirky at times and the android apps can be hit or miss.

We thank you for purchasing the Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook, but are sorry to hear that you have experienced some issues. First, regarding biometric login, if this is a feature important to you, we recommend that you search for your preferences in design and features in a solution before you invest in a device to help ensure a great fit. As for not having a headphone jack, this model does ship with a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box should you want to wire in an audio connection and not utilize its built-in Bluetooth connectivity. If the applications and software installed and being used is compatible with your Duet 5, yet day to day you feel as though it is not keeping up with you, here is a link to a webpage that details diagnosis of hinderances in performance with your device and ChromeOS: https://www.androidpolice.com/fix-slow-chromebook-chrome-os-diagnostics/ . If you ever encounter any issues, here is a phone number for Lenovo Tech Support for Chromebooks should you need it: 800-426-7378. We are glad to hear that the build and screen have impressed, and that there is value in this device for you. Lenovo

Could be considered a full desktop replacement over a portable laptop/tablet. A lot bigger than expected. It's light weight. Screen size is just perfect enough to be able to view two docs at once. Lighter than the original duet. Keyboard feels solid. Trackpad feels good and smooth. Not sure if I'd use this to hold while watching a show in bed. Run time is great. Played some stadia games for about 6 hours over 2 days with no issues. Waiting for the duet 3 to come out with 8gb of ram. Giving this to my inlaws.

I had the Lenovo Duet 3 Chromebook (smaller version of the Duet 5) and wanted the larger screen for watching videos like YouTube. The Duet 5 has been great for that as well as using a number of Android apps. The Duet 5 connects to my wi-fi quickly and the battery lasts for days.

This has to be the best my investment yet. I already have a gaming CPU, which by the way is the best, but I didn't want to always turn on my gaming CPU to go online to pay bills or shop. This Chromebook helps me with paying bills, shopping online, and many other things as well. One of the main functions that caught my attention was the screen quality because I watch a lot of movies and tv online and the OLED screen is like watching movies at home but on the go. And the battery is very good and last a long time in between charges. The touchscreen is great as well and my son prefers using this Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook to his Amazon Firetablet. I would definitely recommend.

This is an excellent device for the price. The screen is very nice and the device is well constructed. The inclusion of the keyboard and back cover kickstand is nice too. It is by no means the nicest screen, the fastest processor, but it doesn't need to be. For a Chrome OS two in one, it does the job well. Battery life is excellent and I have yet to be let down.

I purchased an open box and honestly for the money this is an amazing deal. Battery life is great especially for my use case (watching netflix), I get close to 10 hours under normal brightness. However I do wonder if an older tablet might provide more performance for the buck. The main advantage of this device is its OLED screen.

Very nice screen (even for 1920x1080.) It's fast and responsive. The touchpad and keyboard are well built. The battery life is very good. Runs Android and Linux apps. Multitasks well. USI pen purchased separately of a different brand worked flawlessly. No place to store the pen. No SDCard. The keyboard detaches, but it won't fold backwards.
