This computer is Bad Donkey OK, not a Gamer, but, wanted that capability in the future. I've had at least 3 IBM laptops, a few dells, several HP EliteBook's, and, my personal computer for the past 8 years was a Toshiba Satellite which I had a lot of upgrades in and still use, but, I could not upgrade to Windows 11 due to planned obsolescence issues, so, I had to break down and get a new computer. So, I've had my share of computers over the past 25 years. That said, I run a lot of software for my contractor/consulting business manipulating and processing big data. I push the 32GB that came preinstalled frequently. but it's better than m old 16GM machine. It's super fast and the video is super awesome, the NVIDIA and WQXGA screen (what ever that is) is seriously almost OLED quality. The unit is almost always on a suspended laptop stand, I know it's working hard when I hear the fan ramp up, but, it's not overly distracting, just letting me know it's there. No overheating issues or anything, and, wow, the i9 Processor cuts my load time in half and half again and maybe half again. . . . With my former Window's 10 Satellite I'd just a particular weekly process run overnight, it knocks the same process out in about 30-60 minutes and that's pushing the bandwidth for sure. The SCREEN is BEAUTIFUL . . . brightest, clearest, and, smallest screen I have. I'm half blind and I see it better than monitors twice it's size. I'm simultaneously running the laptop screen and 2 wired external monitors and casting to a 55" ROKU 4K television to leverage duc duc go and it's yo u tu be commercial avoidance . . . next best thing . . .ever Super happy with the Legion Pro 5 16IRX9 , zero complaints. so glad I spent the extra few hundred bucks since I use it every single day for hours on end. Honestly, I can't speak to Battery Life, I only used it a few times off power, and, it struck me it didn't last long, so, knocking that down to a 3. Might not be for you if you need lots of battery life, not even remotely a concern for me, so, wasn't part of my consideration. IT a bulky computer, but, even so, I've taken it on a few trips, the power pack is expensive and large almost needs it's own bag, but, again, I don't travel with it a lot. Considering an upgrade to 64GB just because the rest of it can handle it and that would help me a little in some cases. Awesome, 5 stars.

Ultimate Gaming Performance and Seamless Multitasking ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Lenovo Legion Pro 5i has quickly become my go-to machine for gaming, work, and everything in between. This powerhouse laptop excels in every department, delivering exceptional performance, stunning visuals, and impressive build quality. Here’s a detailed breakdown of its features: 1. Blazing-Fast Performance with Intel Core i9 At the heart of the Legion Pro 5i is the 14th Gen Intel Core i9 processor, and the performance is nothing short of outstanding. With 32GB of RAM, I can run multiple demanding applications simultaneously without any lag. Whether I’m gaming, streaming, or doing some heavy video editing, the laptop handles everything effortlessly. The Core i9 processor ensures smooth performance even when pushing the system to its limits with AAA games and intensive software. 2. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Graphics The inclusion of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 with 8GB of VRAM makes this laptop a gaming beast. Ray tracing and DLSS support are fantastic for immersive gaming experiences, offering realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections in modern titles. Games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2 run flawlessly at ultra settings with no frame drops, even in graphically demanding scenes. If you’re into competitive gaming, the laptop’s GPU provides high frame rates in titles like Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Apex Legends. 3. WQXGA Display with 165Hz Refresh Rate The 16" WQXGA (2560x1600) display is a major highlight of this laptop. With its 165Hz refresh rate, gameplay is incredibly smooth, and fast-paced games look fluid without screen tearing or ghosting. The higher resolution offers a crisp, detailed image, enhancing both gaming and productivity. The color accuracy and brightness levels are excellent, making it perfect for creative professionals who need precise visuals for photo or video editing. Plus, the 16:10 aspect ratio provides a bit more vertical screen real estate, which is great for productivity tasks. 4. Massive 2TB SSD Storage With a 2TB SSD, I never have to worry about running out of storage space. The SSD is lightning fast, allowing for quick boot times and near-instant load times in games and applications. Transferring large files is a breeze, and the spacious storage ensures I can keep all my games, media, and work files in one place without having to juggle external drives. 5. Thermal Efficiency and Legion Coldfront 5.0 Lenovo’s Coldfront 5.0 thermal system is another area where this laptop shines. Despite being a high-performance gaming machine, the Legion Pro 5i stays cool, even during extended gaming sessions or intense workloads. The quad-channel exhaust system and dedicated thermal sensors keep the heat under control, ensuring that performance isn’t throttled. The cooling system is also remarkably quiet, especially for a gaming laptop of this caliber. 6. Keyboard and Legion Spectrum RGB Lighting The keyboard on the Legion Pro 5i is a joy to use. The key travel is just right, providing a satisfying tactile feel that’s perfect for both gaming and typing. The RGB lighting is fully customizable through Lenovo’s Legion Spectrum software, allowing you to sync the lighting with games or set it to any color pattern you prefer. The full-sized arrow keys and numpad are nice additions for gamers and productivity users alike. 7. Lenovo Vantage Software and AI Tuning Lenovo’s Vantage software allows for easy performance tuning and system monitoring. With a click of a button, I can switch between different performance modes depending on what I’m doing—whether I need max performance for gaming or prefer quieter operation for general use. The AI tuning adjusts settings based on the workload to optimize both performance and battery life, making it easy to get the most out of the hardware. 8. Connectivity and Ports The Legion Pro 5i comes with an excellent selection of ports, including Thunderbolt 4, USB-C, multiple USB-A ports, HDMI, and an Ethernet port. Having Thunderbolt 4 support is great for connecting external monitors, high-speed storage, or even an external GPU. The Wi-Fi 6E ensures stable and fast wireless connectivity, making it perfect for online gaming and streaming. 9. Battery Life For a gaming laptop, the battery life is surprisingly good. While I don’t expect it to last all day under heavy gaming, I can comfortably get around 6 hours of regular use (browsing, streaming, etc.) on a single charge. The Rapid Charge Pro feature is also a nice touch, allowing me to quickly top up the battery when I’m on the go. 10. Build Quality and Design The Onyx Grey finish looks sleek and professional, making it suitable for both work and play. The build quality is solid, with a sturdy chassis that feels premium. Despite its powerful components, the laptop is relatively slim and portable for a gaming machine, making it easy to carry around. The minimalistic design, with the Legion logo subtly glowing on the lid, strikes a perfect balance between gaming aesthetic and professionalism. Conclusion: The Lenovo Legion Pro 5i is a top-tier gaming laptop that doesn’t just excel in gaming but also handles productivity and creative tasks like a pro. With its powerful Intel Core i9, RTX 4070, stunning display, and robust cooling system, it’s perfect for gamers, streamers, and professionals who need a high-performance machine. The combination of thoughtful design, cutting-edge technology, and attention to detail makes it one of the best gaming laptops I’ve used. Highly recommended for anyone looking for serious power in a portable package!

I bought this as a 'less portable' station, and it has worked well in that role. I replace my old desktop and laptop, and there are a few things that I really like about this model. The first is the keyboard is as close to a traditional layout on the keyboard as I've seen on a recent laptop. It has a full size inverted T, and a 10key with a very traditional layout. All of the important ports are at the back of the machine, allowing for a very efficient layout. I appreciate the space afforded with the 1600p display. It performs very well, and while it is loud under load, the sound lacks the grating/piercing pitches of other machines I've used. On the other hand, I have found the wifi chipset to be lacking, with random drops and stutters when pulling down a lot of data- it has a full size ethernet port and I would recommend using it for large transfers. Expected with a machine for this size, but it is neither light nor compact, and the battery life is so-so. I appreciate that it has USC-PD as an option, but it can not pull the wattage needed to sustain heavy load from the port. Overall, the designers made mostly the same tradeoffs I would choose. For linux users, be aware that the device is only mostly supported, via open source projects.

This computer is a sleek beast. It handles games very well and the CPU in this thing is great. My only recommendation is to download HWinfo and Throttlestop to keep track of the temps and disable the turbo, respectively. For whatever reason, even with an undervolt, the turbo makes the thermals reach 100 deg Celsius, even with an IETS GT500 on full blast (highly recommend this cooling pad for this computer). Big fan of the sleek look and the exhaust on the sides and rear. If you have the money, definitely go with the 7i Pro, but if that's out of your budget, this machine will have you very happy. The upgradable RAM slots and SSD slots are a big plus. I give this PC 2 thumbs up.

Overall the laptop got the job done. Ran games no problem and high settings. Beside games its great for work or for those who video editing/photography. It just the stuff the run it. However its large, cab be on the heavier side, and if gaming does get hot and fan run loud. I found myself using a fan pad just to keep it cool while gaming which does kinda of lock you down to a charging cable. With that said battery life is decent enough if not gaming. I wouldn't game without keeping plugged at all times during a session. Good if you got the cash. Great if you can get it on sale or open box.

Powerful laptop with effective cooling. I use this for game development, so I value the extra memory and storage. Some gaming laptops are real lap scorchers, but not this. It's on the thick side, but that space is very well used for airflow.

Lenovo Legion is a well-designed gaming laptop where all the parts and features look and work together excellent. My second one, I liked my first one so much. It's my only pc so it's a desktop replacement. Sharp beautiful display, 100% capability on higher-end games. It even has keyboard lighting effects. This 16" format fits in screen size and numeric keypad like my old 17" model. Only negatives if they affect you, it is hefty not lightweight. Function keys and numeric keypad less than full size. I did not test battery life.

I've been using this notebook for quite a while now. It is fast enough to run all my games near the highest resolution without issue. The RTX 4070 is quite fast! The screen is pretty good; although, it could be a little brighter for outdoors. I do travel with this notebook. My only issue is the weight of it. It does make my backpack quite heavy to lug through the airport. Highly recommended.

This is my second Lenova laptop. The Legion Pro 5I with Intel 14th gen core I9 processor and 32 GB of memory is a powerhouse. I bought this for creating files / 3D rendering for my CNC machine. NOT Disappointed!! Great speed and plenty of storage with the 2TB hard drive. Lucky enough to catch it on sale and saved $200.00.

Picked this up on sale and honestly, it’s been awesome. Super fast, runs everything I throw at it with no lag (games, editing, you name it). The screen looks great, and it stays pretty cool even when I’m pushing it hard. Keyboard feels nice, build is solid, and the 2TB SSD means I don’t have to worry about storage for a while. I’d definitely recommend it if you're looking for a high-end gaming laptop. No complaints here.

I recently purchased the Lenovo Legion Pro 5i 16” with the Intel 14th Gen i9, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070, and 2TB SSD, and I’m blown away by its performance. This laptop handles everything from AAA gaming titles to heavy multitasking with ease. The 2.5K display is crystal clear with vibrant colors and smooth refresh rates, making both gaming and content creation a joy. The only bad thing about this is it runs out battery so fast so u always need charger with you.

Purchased for a college student needing high level processing. The unit is built like a tank. The display is excellent and the processors excellent too. Outperforms a Dell I paid more for. This design chose solidity over lightweight so it's a little heavy and the power supply is also big (by design). Lenovo gives you all they can for the money on this one, highly recommended as a general computer but I can't comment on the gaming side but the specs and cooling systems speak to functionality there.

First, let me say that I am not a gamer... I cannot say how this PC works from a gaming perspective. I needed the high quality graphics, though, and this definitely meets that requirement. It is very fast, too. Also, I am not highly technical so I have needed some technical help to transition to the new PC and get things setup for me. The two people that have helped me have both commented on the speed and the quality of the laptop. I have only had the laptop a few weeks, but it is performing well and I am happy with it.
