I bought Asus zenbooks with rtx3050, zephyrus M16 w rtx4070, G14 rtx4070 2024, G16 rtx4070 2024, Lenovo Slim 16' rtx4070, Acer Predator 14 rtx4070, and this Lenovo Slim 5 rtx4060. Of all the laptops the lenovo's software was the best by far. Acer and asus software was unfinished and did not work correctly at times without reboot or closing softwares down thusly ruining the workflow/gaming session. secondly, the speed on this slim 5 rtx4060 is so close to the 4070 laptops i tried that there was no reason to pay the premiums for them. this legion slim 5 oled is basicly a 4070 laptop in games even tho it says 4060. with that said, the 4070 laptops run extremely hot. gaming with them in your lap is not possible at all it will literally make my legs itchy and burning feeling. the lenovo legion slim 5 does not have this problem. I can actually game with this laptop in my lap without burning my legs. none of the others could do that. This legion slim 5 just feels like a finished product where the others feel like half baked laptop prototypes. the only thing that sucks about the legion slim 5 is the speakers, they sound like the usually garbage laptop speakers of yore. Usually something like that would make me take a star off but since all the other laptops i tried straight up felt unfinished it feels like this lenovo is the only 4060/4070 laptop with an oled/miniled display worth using right now

It is a very nice portal power machine. 1. the screen: OLED with 120 Hz. Nice black and response time. 2. Keyboard: good response, and nice to type on. 3. track pad is glass, smooth. 4. fast PCIE 4 SSD, mine came with Skyhynix. 5. you can put another SSD in, very rare for 14 gaming laptop. 6. Memory is not upgradable but it is fast 6400 DDR 5 7. Wificard is not intel, but works well. 8. Heat and fan noise are as expected. 9. Battery is 75 KWH. I got about 6 hours surfing the web. 10. Power adapter is 175 w, you can charge with usb c port only 90w. 11. There is mux switch, and able to overclock the GPU from Lenovo advantage program. 12. The lid and bottom are metal, keyboard deck is plastic. 13. light weight but construction is high end. 14. Full size SD card reader. Overall, very happy with the laptop, I only wish it has thunderbolt, but overall the best 14 inch gaming laptop.

Incredible laptop. I been using this laptop nonstop from a month now and it’s better than expected. Watched a lot of reviews about it saying that it was their favorite 14” laptop from 2023 at msrp so being able to grab it on sale was the cherry on top. Comming from a 14” asus laptop that at least in my experience was always so hot and underperforming compared to this one (even tho it has little bit better cpu specs, same gpu and ram), returning the other one and buying this one was the best decision. OLED screen flawless, double the m.2 storage than the ASUS (plus double write and read speeds too) and amazing build quality. Weight is also really good, around, super easy to carry and the fact that the brick is on the smaller side considering is 170 Watts, is one more thing to consider to buy it. In my opinion really good keyboard, comfortable to type long hours in it, also good for gaming and the fact that it stays nice to the touch after a long gaming session (especially compared to my previous laptop) is a big plus. The fingerprint reader is definitely a nice addition, super fast also, I use it instead of a pin and work as intended. The only thing that I could think could be better is the battery, around 7:30 hours on quiet mode and with the proper configuration doing light work and browsing and around 2 hours of gaming AAA titles, but in all honesty, considering the size of the battery (73wh) and that the 4060 actually uses 105 w, is more than enough in my opinion. Amazing buy if you go for it on sale, the only other option worth to consider, with same specs and price is the ASUS G14 (2023 model), but in my personal experience, the Lenovo was better.

This is my first gaming laptop in 6 years. The one I had prior was pretty great but this one blows it out the water. I'm surprised how much they were able to fit In such a small and light laptop. The 4060 does a great job running games at a decent fps. I've been playing assassin's creed Odyssey on high settings with rtx on and get a consistent 60+ fps. Just remember that this isnt going to be running cyberpunk with max settings at 120+ fps, this is meant to be a travel gaming/creation type of laptop. The OLED screen is absolutely gorgeous and really spoils you when it comes to other screens. Overall this things is amazing and I love it. Sometimes I even use it over my desktop just for the simplicity. My only quips pertaining to this model from bestbuy is the non-upgradable ram. You can only get the 16gb version here which is decent enough to get stuff done and game but I wouldn't suggest having many tabs open or programs open in the background. Main reason I got it here was that it was on a good sale compared to the Lenovo website. My other quip isn't related to this version here on bestbuy but rather with the laptop itself, and that would have to be with the battery. This thing doesn't last long. I know it's a small laptop but even with power saver on and using silent mode I get maybe 3-4hrs of battery. Kinda sad about that but it works well enough for what I need it for. I would still buy this laptop knowing all this info before hand maybe if Lenovo had more sales on their site I would have gotten the 32gig version from there

Hello, EddyZ. Thank you for choosing Lenovo! Regarding your issue with battery – as you know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in gaming laptops that can increase even more. If you want to squeeze out more battery and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, we recommend utilizing the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the GPU to greatly decrease power draw. We are pleased to hear that you are enjoying your Legion Slim 5, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Lenovo

Awesome laptop. Really fast and handles games great. Screen is amazing if you like glossy screens. IMO its the perfect size laptop if you have a Gaming PC at home and want something portable. Battery Lasts a long time while not gaming and even when gaming it runs extremely quite. It stays cool unlike the Asus G14 which would get burning hot to the touch while just browsing the internet.

Such an amazing Laptop, i got it for 950 dollars and it's just amazing. Feels great to touch it, the keyboard is top and while gaming it may get a bit warm but I can handle it. Not very noisy. About the battery i got 8 hours of battery life while doing regular tasks such as watching a video and writing some notes, dont expect more than an hour while gaming, but nobody uses it that way so no problem at all. (Hybrid iGpu, lower down the processor power management to 80%, force power-saving graphics, turn on battery saver, lower down brightness and the refresh rate to 60hz) While gaming is such a beast, even at native resolution i could easily get those 60 stable fps using dlss and fg. I love this laptop is just amazing the only downside is the Soldered ram which is so disapointing but i mean for 900 dollars i cant complain. And the speakers are decent, just use the included software Nahimic and it will improve it a lot. By the way, the display is just gorgeous. a 3k, oled, 120hz. Is just the best budget laptop.

I read some reviews commending the Slim 5 series for running cool and quiet and for flying under the radar. After running this laptop for a couple weeks I can confirm. With the optional 140W charger I was able to run RDR2 at very high settings on a long flight to Europe. Keyboard gets warm but never hot. Beautiful OLED screen. Ports are mostly on the back of the unit which is ideal for docking at a desktop. The Lenovo software has less features than the Asus counterpart but there is a 3rd party option with Lenovo Legion Toolkit. Power management is a bit hinky when using LLT + UXTU. I never was quite clear which software took the lead for controlling power states but setting start-up profiles for plugged/unplugged was pretty easy. This is a great alternative to the G14 with it's larger screen, fantastic cooling, and excellent port placement.

Open box review Pros: Excellent display Excellent build quality Excellent internal thermal and cooling (65 C degrees running on max, compared to my old laptop at 70-92 C, which is pretty pretty bad) RIDICULOUSLY good support/warranty from Lenovo. Overclocking software is better and more streamlined than others (subjective) Mid: Fair battery life, 3 hours unplugged on battery saver, fiddling with the power options can extend it to 7-9 but your laptop will be so painfully slow. Average sound quality, not as good as my old laptop No RGB lights, but has a white purplish back light. Cons: A few issues here and there. There is a recent BIOS update that might have a chance to brick your laptop, so I would be careful of that. Does not work well on chromium browsers unless you turn off hardware acceleration. Ram is soldered, can't be upgraded. Can be forgiven due to the extremely low price I brought it at. (48% of original price) Miscellaneous Cons due to open box, fair condition: Stickers peeled off No original box Warranty was consumed by 8 months (CAN BE CORRECTED)

Pros: Runs every game that I’ve tried in almost maximum settings, beautiful design, great quality OLED screen, awesome SSD read/write speed, fast fingerprint sensor, webcam quality are great, the size and weight are perfect for me. Baterry life is OK, good compared to others laptop in the same size, but don’t expect much Cons: I have problems with the Realtek wifi card of this laptop, so be aware. Apparently it is a driver software bug, the solution that I have found was shutting down the “Energy power save” in device manager, and so far I didn’t have any problems. Other problem that I had and it was really annoying to solve, was the screw of the secondary SSD, it was stuck! I have tried to unscrew many times, my fingers got even hurt. But thanks to Geek Squad at a Best buy store, they solved this problem just in a few seconds, and then I could install the 4TB Samsung 990 Pro. The last problem, was the settings of HDR, the collors feel really weird, but thanks to the HDR screen calibrator that I downloaded for free at Microsoft Store, the colors are now gorgeous

Great build quality, phenomenal OLED display, and fantastic gaming performance in a small chassis. Unfortunately, the upgradability of the device leaves a lot to be desired --- this only comes with 16GB of RAM, and it's soldered on. The only way to get 32GB is to configure it directly from Lenovo.

I originally wanted a beefier laptop (4070, 32GB RAM, etc), but this caught my eye because it was $500 off, and honestly, for the games I play, this is more than enough. Process is snappy and the 1TB SSD is a nice touch. 16GB of RAM (non upgradable) might not be enough for everyone, so keep that in mind. The 4060 is able to play fallout 4 and 76 on Ultra without issues. Newer more demanding games may need lower settings The star is the screen. The OLED is so clear and vibrant! Battery life is ok, nothing to write home about, but since I use it mostly for gaming, it's plugged in when I use it If your looking for a low to mid range gaming laptop, this is a good bet!

This gaming laptop is capable performance-wise for how portable it is - it doesn't feel like a brick like other gaming laptops. It was on a great deal and the OLED screen makes it far and above the best deal on this size of a gaming laptop. When doing basic tasks like e-mail and browsing, it's fast and quiet - the fans never kick on and the battery lasts for hours. Performs as well as laptops costing 1.5-2x as much. Although it's not the highest-end laptop, I had been looking for reasonably priced high-end gaming laptops for a while, and this was priced lower and has performed well so far!

Everything on this laptop has blown me away. Sure its not a 4070 but its optimized so well for the “quiet” gaming mode that may not have been achievable using anything more “powerful” Let me emphasize again that the “quiet” mode is a game changer. I get to enjoy gaming without the annoyance of my laptop taking off for flight. Camera is above average, with a useful camera kill switch and the screen is oh so beautiful with great resolution. And thats coming from a former macbook user. The ONLY downside is the speakers on the laptop…my iphone sounds better and that says alot! Otherwise if yoire going to have headphones of any sort then youll be fine.

Absolutely amazing for the price. Performance is excellent, game graphics are amazing, and it runs very cool, no heat issues like with some gaming laptops. Bought it online without seeing it first, so based on some of the reviews was a little worried that it would be too big and clunky. Not the case at all — very reasonable size / weight and very portable. The slightly larger size than the ROG laptops is a very fair trade-off for the superior heat management of this machine. Wish the RAM was upgradable, but that is more of a future-proofing concern.

This computer is amazing! I snagged one during a sale and I am really glad I did. Best bang for your buck 14 inch laptop you can buy. The OLED display just looks gorgeous and the 4060 gpu can take most things really well. If there was one thing I would ask Lenovo to improve on in the future it would be to improve the speakers, add upward firing speakers, and add more bass to them. Having only downward firing speakers causes them to feel slightly muffled. Other than that this computer is absolutely amazing. For 999$ the value of this laptop is excellent.

Caught this on sale for just under $1200. A solid chassis, good DDR 5 speed, more than adequate 1TB SSD, and a beautiful OLED display you absolutely cannot beat this laptop at that price point. Thanks to DLSS3, the 4060 is more than capable to playing a variety of new triple A titles at 60fps. Compared to some 4070 models I tested, this is an excellent value considering the fps gains are modest at best. If you really care about performance go after a 4080 notebook. Otherwise, this is the best quality for value in the 14-16 inch 4060/4070 market.

Thermals are also very good especially considering this is a very thin laptop. I’ve also noticed battery life is very good for a gaming laptop much better than my old power hungry RTX 3080.
