Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally got this laptop because it was on sale, and hey! mr/miss best buy employee recommended it to me over the laptop i was going to get, so why not? It took a week for Mr laptop to break, very sad :(. Admittedly, i am very good at breaking things, but this thing had issues to begin with! The laptop, use was extraordinarily hot when just googling something, fry an egg hot. and when gaming? it charbroiled me the second i thought about it! Its a good laptop if you are ok with singeing your fingertips on the keyboard. but oh Mr laptop, how did he end? well, about 5 days in, i had been considering returning him anyways, 2-week guarantee and all. but ooooooh Mr laptop wanted the last laugh. Windows 10 update? Oh boy! Incurable error? Oh no! Mr Geek squad doesn't know how to fix it? So sad :(. Bye bye Mr laptop! I got the laptop that i had originally gone in for instead, a cheaper one that works just as fine, and that doesn't burn me.

Posted .Heat, the nemesis of gaming performance, is not a problem with the re-mastered Legion Y530. It features a dual-channel thermal system, offering multiple benefits: individual CPU and GPU cooling, for cooler system temperatures; four thermal vents, for improved airflow; and 70 individual fan blades per channel, to reduce system noise. We are sorry to hear that you had an issue with a Windows 10 update failing. Restoring the system back to original factory settings, then allowing the Windows 10 update to restart, may correct the issue you experienced. To restore system, Optane must be disabled first in the BIOS
o Power down system, power back on and press F2 to enter BIOS setup
o BIOS setup > Configuration > Storage > Intel® Rapid Storage technology > Intel Optane, 931.5GB > Disable > Are you sure you want to disable > Yes > Disable
o Wait for 3 minutes
o The Disable process should be finished and there will be (2) non-RAID physical disks
o Press F10 to Save and Exit
- The system should now be able to be Restored
- After restoring, you will need to open the Optane UI from the task bar and choose Setup > Enable > Select “Erase all data on Intel “Optane” memory module > Continue > Restart. Now you can restore the Windows 10 operating system to factory original settings by following the instructions at this link: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/reset-windows-10-pc. Be sure to re-enable the Optane Memory after you restore the system, then restart the device, as listed above. Great Budget Gaming Laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this computer for about a month now. I think so far it has been a fantastic machine. Spec wise this laptop is a little more expensive than other laptops with 1050Ti chips, but that extra money really does go to the build quality. Having the small bezels cuts about an inch off of the width vs other budget 15inch laptops, and it weighs 0.5 to 1 lbs lighter. Honestly just a very solidly built and attractive laptop all around, with none of the in your face gamer styling, which I personally like. The speakers are also surprisingly nice, beating out my previous laptop which was an Alienware 13 r2. The screen isn't amazing but is definitely not bad(I have the 250nits 60hz version). Keyboard is rather nice, better than my previous Alienware and MSI laptops, and the track-pad is usable, high praise for a gaming laptop. Very little bloatware, basically just Lenovo driver software and Dolby audio software. Fans are noticeable but not obnoxious, the thermals are great which surprised me considering the 6-core i7. I've owned a wide range of laptops ranging from monster top-tier tanks to Macbooks and this laptop is one of the best all around work horses I've ever owned. A very good blend of performance, style and sleekness at a just right price. Like previously stated, you can buy a cheaper budget laptop with similar specs, but if you can swing it I would really go for this one, that extra few hundred does make a difference in several ways across the entire machine.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.bought it for my younger boy as birthday gift. his old computer couldn't preform properly with the growing demand for processioning power and graphic card requirements. a bit slow on starting up (no SSD) but runs very smoothly afterwards . i highly recommend it for those who wish to avoid a PC due to place constrains but still want to have gaming capabilities in a reasonable price $$$

I like the build quality and screen positioning. It's the keyboard that gives me some trouble. The keys are slippery and although it is great to have full size arrow keys, it is at the expense of relocating the number pad. It is positioned higher such that the top line is beside the 'delete' key. It has simply taken time to get use to and doesn't change the competency of the computer.

Fast to boot and open files and programs. I use it for FEA, and it crunches numbers pretty fast. Be aware of the options, as there are different combinations of HDD, SSD, graphics cards, memory, etc. Also, the charger is a 135W beast, about the size of a brick (like masons build houses with).

It is perfect for everything I do at work and at home. The optane drive configuration wasn't great so I got a 1TB NVME M.2 SSD from Crucial [$105] and reinstalled Windows. It is very fast now and I haven't had any more problems. Battery life isn't spectacular but hasn't been an issue.

The Lenovo Legion Y530 ships with a 3CELL 52.5WH, Lithium Polymer battery, with a battery life of 5 hours depending on the work the device is performing, within the factory configuration. It's heavier than I expected but it's a gaming laptop so it is what it is. They didn't advertise this, but it actually has an optane accelerated hard drive, which is really good though few people understand what it is so maybe that's why they aren't advertising it.

It was bearable taking this across campus when this pandemic wasn’t a reality, although it did get heavy for me (but I’m also pretty small). I can play a lot of games just fine, and have a lot of Chrome tabs open at once.

I bought this as a traveling PC for when I'm on the road, and leaving my tower at home. Plays most of the games that I threw at it at ultra grahics, high at a minimum, and handled with with flying colors. Worth the $
