Incredible Value - The Best Budget Gaming Laptop o

I’ve been using the Lenovo LOQ (i5-13450HX / RTX 5050) for a week now, and it’s easily the best bang-for-your-buck laptop of 2026. The new RTX 5050 with 8GB of GDDR7 memory is a significant jump over the old 4050, handling Cyberpunk 2077 and Call of Duty on high settings without breaking a sweat.
The 144Hz screen is bright and the G-Sync support makes gameplay feel incredibly fluid. The build quality feels premium and sturdy, not like the "cheap plastic" feel of other budget laptops. My only gripes are the battery life (I get about 3.5 hours on quiet mode) and the fans, which get pretty loud when gaming in Performance Mode. However, for the price, the cooling performance is top-notch. If you’re a student or a gamer on a budget, this is the one to get.
Pros:
Great 1080p gaming performance (RTX 5050 is impressive).
Sturdy, professional build quality.
Fast 144Hz display with G-Sync.
Cons:
Short battery life.
Fans can be loud under heavy load.

I only have two issues with the laptop:
1. The sound buttons don't work.
2. Sometimes, there's a long loading time.
Overall, pretty great for a cheaper option.

For the price, I would have wanted at least 32GB of memory or maybe In SSD with more space but other than that it's been perfect. Screen is nice, and it runs all of the games I need it to smoothly.

It runs any game at ultra graphics. The battery (like in most of these gaming computers) doesn’t last much tho. Perfect as a desktop pc too

Amazingly capable laptop

Amazing laptop. However, it’s only worth buying when it’s on sale for under $700.
Performance: 5/5 plays pretty much any game you want at a decent frame rate. However, I notice sometimes the games briefly freeze for half a second before recovering. Happens semi regularly. Think it’s just because the 50 series is still new and not fully compatible with everything yet.
Battery: 0/10 from full charge to 100, you get 1 hr 15 mins of browsing. And forget it if you’re playing games. You’ll get 20 mins. Not sure why the battery is so awful. Send to be a common complaint though. Even when brand new, this thing needs to be constantly plugged in.
Thermals: 4/5 it does a pretty good job for a smaller laptop. GPU and cpu temps don’t go above 75c. With a dedicated laptop cooler, it drops cpu and GPU temps by about 10-15 degrees Celsius
Noise: 4/5. It’s quiet, but can still be heard when gaming.
Display: 5/5 For how small the screen is, 1920x1080 is enough, especially when it’s running at 144hz. If the screen were any bigger, then a screen resolution bump would be warranted.
Other: I don’t that this is missing a right control key.
Wish it had more than 2 usb ports.

I’ve been using the Lenovo LOQ 15.6" Gaming Laptop for a few weeks, and overall I’m very happy with it. The Intel Core i5-13450HX and RTX 5050 combo handle everyday tasks smoothly, and it performs well in games at medium to high settings. The 16GB of memory also makes multitasking quick and responsive.
The Full HD screen looks sharp, and the colors are good for gaming and streaming. The laptop stays fairly cool during use, though the fans can get a bit loud during heavier games. The 512GB SSD is fast, but it may fill up quickly if you install multiple large games, so keep that in mind.
Build quality feels solid, and the Luna Grey finish looks clean and modern.
Overall, this laptop offers strong performance and good value for a mid-range gaming machine. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable gaming laptop without spending too much.

I picked up the Lenovo LOQ 15.6" Gaming Laptop for $649.49 during Black Friday, and it’s been a strong performer for the price. The i5‑13450HX and RTX 5050 handle modern games well at 1080p/144 Hz, and the build quality and Luna Grey finish feel solid and clean.
The downsides are noticeable: the battery drains quickly, even with light use, and Lenovo Vantage freezes randomly and feels heavy, which is frustrating since it’s essential for core performance settings. With better battery optimization and software stability, this could easily be a 5‑star machine.
One more thing to note: 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD are pretty minimal for a 2025 gaming/work laptop. They function as intended for now, but storage fills up fast and future‑proofing would benefit from upgrades. I’d recommend planning for more RAM and additional storage if you want to get the most out of this system long‑term.
For those reasons, I am rating it as 4 stars which is more than fair.

After having the laptop for about a month, I would say that this product has been fine. With close to no experience with laptops before, my opinion may not be valid but I do nonetheless have one. The specs of the laptops are great, and it does run great for video games. However there are two major “issues” that I’ve experienced so far. They include, short battery life and the laptop prioritizing the integrated graphics card over the dedicated graphics card upon initialization of the computer. To be more specific, the short battery life (two hours with no power optimization and your using the dedicated graphics) is however expected due to the hefty/high performance parts of the laptop. Second, the prioritization of the integrated graphics displayed ghosting when browsing and gaming which seemed very odd for me. To conclude this review, I would only recommend this laptop to people who are looking to have good to great gaming performance and browsing at home. If your usually around outlets or just electricity then you’ll be fine, however if your not, I would not recommend.

I bought this during Black Friday Sale for a great price. But as some know, manufacturers often use b-stock components specifically in their holiday models and for me it was the QLC 512GB SSD that was throttling and overheating this laptop to a crawl. I've had mini PCs with lower specs that ran smoother.
The SSD couldn't sustain big download files (writes) like games on Steam if you have fast wifi or directly via ethernet. Once the SSD's virtual cache fills, it has to empty which cause Steam downloads to drop to 0Mbps momentarily, and this constant refreshing will overheat the drive, thus computer. The solution is to cap your download speed in Steam which is unfortunate. The other solution is to add/replace the SSD itself with a TLC SSD for your Steam library (or any large file writing).
Some good though, I felt the trackpad is a tad better than the one in the Legion 5 15.1" and the speakers too.
1080p is good enough, not as sharp as 3K when you're doing regular PC tasks, but when gaming it's not noticeable. RTX 5050 is more than enough for 1080p gaming! But I don't chase max FPS, I prefer a solid 60fps with quiet fans which is achievable on this laptop and 5050.
I think the CPU is 2 generations old? But really any CPU within the last 5 years is solid.
Conclusion, great budget gaming laptop when on sale! But I'd reconsider at retail price.

The laptop is quite good if you buy it at a promotional price. I consider it a top option for the money.
Pros: a high-quality display — of course, it’s not OLED and not on the level of a MacBook screen, but it’s still quite good. Build quality is solid: the laptop is well assembled, nothing creaks or flexes, and the plastic feels high quality. Excellent performance for this price. Fairly good cooling and quieter than competitors in this price category.
Cons: screen brightness — sometimes it’s not bright enough, especially if the room is very well lit or if you’re sitting near a window. Battery life — I’m not sure this can even be considered a downside; you just need to understand that with this kind of hardware, long battery life is simply not possible.

It’s a great entry-level gaming PC for beginners like me. The price is just right. My only issue was the battery draining a little quickly, but aside from that, it’s an excellent starting point for someone new to PC gaming. It’s also perfect for students or professionals who want a versatile PC for both work, school, and gaming.

Regarding your issue with battery life – as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in gaming laptops that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even greater power conservation.

I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. From the moment I started using it, everything exceeded my expectations. The performance is fast and smooth, making it perfect for both work and everyday use. The design is sleek and modern, and the build quality feels solid and premium.
Battery life is excellent and easily lasts through the day without any issues. The screen is clear, bright, and comfortable for long hours of use. Setup was quick and simple, and everything worked perfectly right out of the box.
Overall, this product offers outstanding quality for the price. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for reliability, great performance, and excellent value. I would definitely buy it again without hesitation.

This laptop is definitely a worthwhile purchase. It has enough performance out of the parts in it and is able to be upgraded with bigger storage and more RAM if desired. The ease of which you can switch between operating modes from quiet to performance is also a plus and it isn't too showy like lots of other gaming laptops. The battery life is fairly short when utilizing the dedicated GPU but if you put it in hybrid mode and only use the iGPU when not gaming it does last a bit longer. The laptop also isn't too heavy or bulky, the screen is a good size, the panel looks good, and the camera quality of the built in camera is good. Good purchase, especially on sale.

The performance has been outstanding; I've tested a couple of games, including Ghost of Tsushima and Forza Horizon 5, both of which ran smoothly on ultra graphics settings. This laptop is perfect for gaming and delivers an incredible experience overall.

Absolutely love this!! Perfect for all my school needs and when I'm not studying, perfect for gaming with friends. In all honesty, I only play Overwatch on here but it handles it with no issues. I've never had an issue with this but I also haven't ran anything other than the game while playing. With how much I use the laptop in general, the batter is typical but can last for 1.5 - 2 hours even while researching and having a bunch of tabs and apps open. Overall, my personal experience is that this is a great laptop for someone who is primarily focused on typical laptop functions with the added benefit of online 'PC' gaming when I want to.

to travel then hook into a wall again
I got this on Black Friday for 649, and it delivers strong performance across a wide range of games.
It runs Fortnite, Helldivers, Arc Raiders, Red Dead Redemption 2, modded Minecraft, Satisfactory, and Breath of the Wild on CEMU at max settings, maintaining at least 60 FPS and often exceeding that. Overall, it handles demanding titles smoothly and performs reliably even under heavy loads. My only complaint is the battery life, which I view as a reasonable tradeoff since it functions more like a portable desktop that can be used on the go for a while, then plugged in for extended sessions.
