REFURBISHED NOT WORTH IT We tried purchasing this laptop and another refurbished laptop too. Neither worked and had to be returned. I just wanted an inexpensive computer to use in the kitchen and refurbished is to frustrating. What a mess - I used a large amount of reward certificates to make the purchase (bought all new kitchen appliances which were great!) and the return process gets complicated. The Lenovo we received was very old and the fan would not stay working. The geek squad tried resetting it once and it broke again. After talking to store - going with open box - cerified. Not as inexpensive but its just not worth the frustration to keep trying on the refurbished. BTW even after 2 laptops received not working - Best Buy does not compensate you in any way for the inconvenience. Apparently you are accepting the risk of it not working when you buy refurbished. I explained that I didn't expect much for the price but thought it should work..

I need a home laptop but didn't feel I could afford a new one. After I finished comparing the new ones and scaling back in the price point, I found the perfect buy - a refurbished laptop by Lenovo. I've been using it since and it just has that perfect, solid feel.

Refurbished computer is a bit slower than I'd like and heavier - otherwise works great and has everything I need.

The laptop is excellent. The battery however is a little bit lame in that it has very limited life.

Works great. Haven't had any issues yet. The look on the outside of the computer is very squarish/old timey

In 2005, I took a teaching job with a school that gave all teachers IBM Thinkpads. What a machine. I used it for 5 years before they gave everyone MacBooks. I missed the solid feel of the Thinkpad and the responsiveness of the keys. The only feature of the Mac that outperformed the Thinkpad was it's trackpad. I've since left that job and bought my own MacBook, which started to show its age after 5 years. I hate the new MacBooks, so I asked the IT guys at the university where I teach what they would recommend. They warned me not to spend more than $500 because technology changes so frequently I would probably want to upgrade every year or so. Among their recommendations was Lenovo, and I was surprised to see they had taken over the Thinkpad model in 2005 and now produced something called the Ideapad. Looking around Best Buy online I saw my old friend, the Thinkpad. Refurbished with an 18 month parts and labor warranty for under $250. I couldn't pass this up! The IT guys said it was a great value, so I snatched one. I couldn't be happier. If you can live with 2-hour battery life and don't mind looking retro, then this is your baby. I've used my T410 for a few weeks now without a hitch. The keys feel fantastic and it is faster than my MacBook. I will never go back. I was also lucky that my university provides free virus protection and free Microrsoft Office! I don't think you will regret your purchase. These are very durable machines that are made to take the rough and tumble world of business use. I give this machine my highest recommendation.
