What can I say? Im in love. This is everything I need from a laptop. Not a lot of flare and gimmicks. just a nice laptop with the right specs with the option to upgrade a lot of internals hassle free. I will say that the new x1 etreme gen 2 is now available. So this one is a bit outmoded. But again, everything I needed and I got it at a great price (price has gone back up looks like it). First off, Im coming from a (same year) Dell XPS lappy. Had to junk the Dell due to construction quality issues and found this Lenovo since it had similar specs. I really wanted a 14" laptop but this one was everything else I needed so i went for it. PROS 6 core i7 processor (awesome) 2 m2 ssd slots (YES! I already popped in my 1tb 970) 16gb ram + empty slot (Ordered a second 16GB stick for 70 bucks) 1080 screen for better battery life than 4k Great factory hot keys Best keyboard on a laptop, period. Medium-duty GPU (1050ti maxQ) is just enough to not turn this pc into a space heater and battery sucker Comes with a 3-year Lenovo Warranty Plenty of connections Fingerprint Scanner Actually a good thinkpad touchpad! Lightweight Thin and sturdy Easy to remove back cover for maintenance. Lenovo optional software is actually helpful Little privacy shutter on camera Huge vents and intakes Super quiet under light to medium use You can dim the screen so low that even at night I dont dim it all the way Laptop folds flat, I havent found a use for it yet. But I will CONS Entire computer is coated in a soft-touch something or other finish that is a grease magnet. But that's fine. It's amazing. Budget screen could have better blacks but i'm ok with it. This is just what i needed. 4K screens on laptop are a joke. Would consider a 1440 screen in the future PRO TIPS buy a spare 16GB ram stick from crucial (2600 ddr4 sodimm 16gb nonECC) 60-70 bucks Look for good deals on a spare m2 drive (prices are really cheap these days) Set display scaling to 100% (out of the box it is 125). I also set my task bar to "small" and now i have a nice crisp screen with lots of real estate. If you want to run the nvidia studio drivers rather than the game-ready drivers, dont update to 1903 windows, stay on 1806 for now. It isnt compatible yet. Looking forward to using this laptop for a long time. Happy to be back with Lenovo after all these years.
