My son suggested that i buy the $2295 (on sale) Dell with a 4K display and a 1 TB SSD. The processor and memory were the same, although the dell had 16gb standard, and the Lenovo had only 8gb. The Lenovo has a better than high definition display. Not 4K, but it seemed very sufficient. I went for the Lenovo at a sale price of $895. I immediately ordered 32gb of ram and a 512gb m.2 SSD for the Lenovo. Thus armed it boots in seconds. Anything on the m.2 drive is blazingly fast. My main reason for this purchase was a failed prior laptop. My main use is for Adobe Lightroom. Running Lightroom on this machine with all of the ram and off the SSD is so much faster! The experts suggest to run certain Lightroom retouching in a particular order to prevent bringing your computer to a crawl. With this machine order doesn't matter. It blazes through whatever you throw at it. Now if I could only figure out how to load the operating system onto the SSD and then boot off of it... It didn't use to be this complicated! Nice machine and a steal at the price.

This is on the lower end of pricing for a gaming laptop but it's specs and performance are way above average from my experience with it. I added a M.2 SSD for the OS and use the 1 TB HHD for storage and this laptop is blazing fast. Well worth the money if your looking for a gaming laptop, the SSD was relatively cheap and easy to install. I would recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a great gaming laptop.

It has plenty of apps to download to your computer. The speakers are nice and loud and the HD touchscreen is nice to.

This laptop is exactly what I was looking for. My son is a big gamer and wanted a powerful laptop. This one fit the bill perfectly!

Purchased this laptop for a family member who was struggling to play even basic games on their older laptop. Amazing machine for the price with an i7 processor, dedicated graphics, 8GB of DDR4, backlit keyboard and a 1TB hard drive make this a great buy. I had purchased an Alienware R3 (17") a number of months ago for my wife who doesn't play games, but is an avid photographer, so I thought a gaming laptop would be the way to go for photo and video editing. While the R3 is also a great machine (the only difference being a klipcsh speaker system and a 128GB SSD), the y700 is just as good at half the price... plus it has touch screen capabilities. Highly recommend this.

I bought this laptop for my son. He has tried 5 different laptops since Christmas. This is the one that he really likes. I wish I had bought one for myself.

Had Windows 8.1 installed so I upgraded to 10 Pro and the Intel and Lenovo software has caused very slow performance and boot times. Once I fixed everything this has turned out to be an awesome laptop. The touch screen is awesome. I would have given 5 stars if Windows 10 had been pre-loaded from start.

This truly is a spectacular machine, it will run anything I can throw at it with ease and doesn't seem to struggle. My only issue is the fact that after just 1 month the back light in the screen quit working. Fortunately the thing was warranted so I'm not out any money just two weeks without it while they fix the problem.

This laptop is perfect for both home and student use. It is relatively light for all of its hardware, and the screen resolution is fantastic! So far I have had no problems, and my games can play without any trouble. I recommend this laptop as a great gaming device and also for office/school use - impress everyone with the red backlit keyboard!

I purchased this for my son who is in college, he is majoring in computer science. He picked it out, so I assume he knew the best computer options to choose. I just hope he uses it as much for academics as he does for playing games!

amazing gaming laptop, plays every game on ultra settings (skyrim, doom, gta v ect..) only issue is the touch pad placement, as a righty it feels weird being so far left.

The laptop did not live up to my expectations. The HD is slow and the sales person said I could update to ssd but I would have to buy the OS again. the nvidia video crashes quite frequently. It corrects itself and you continue on but it irritates. I bought for the name, was hoping for build quality IBM spoiled for us. Wait and see on quality but cosmetically it feels quality. I miss the Docs IBM provided, you could rebuild it with those specs and pictures. I checked and there is none of that now and this is a built in battery, the first thing that fails. All things considered I am happy with it, but it still needs an SSD.

Love love love my gaming laptop, runs all my games on ultra, never gets hot, only recommendation is if you purchase also get a ssd installed instead of the hhd it comes with. I did that right away , and it's perfect !

I have had the laptop for about a month and I haven't had any issues at all. It's fast and efficient. The JBL speakers are a cherry on top. Great multimedia laptop.

This laptop offers a lot of bank for the buck. It is amazing, I did replace the 1TB HDD for a SanDisk 960GB SSD (SKU: 1167009) and there is a huge performance difference for all my Adobe Creative Cloud applications and gaming. Battery life is even better with an SSD. I get on average about 6 - 7 hours with moderate use when just word processing, browsing the web, viewing videos online, and doing homework online. Due to my major this was the best bang for my buck. Also I highly recommended the 3 Year Geek Squad Protect & Support Plus since I don't have to worry about parts and labor plus accidental damage. I'm covered in case anything happens. I truly recommend this PC for anyone looking for the best bang for the buck.

I wasn't sure what to think about this laptop as it is geared to gamers. It has held up to the task of streaming video and is constructed well. If you need a beefy Windows laptop, I would go with this one.

This Lenovo Y700 laptop is a great buy. It runs very smooth (after a few updates)and is great for gaming. This laptop will run COD Black ops 3 at medium to high at 55-60 FPS and Battlefield 4 at ultra setting at 35FPS and high setting at 60 FPS.

Bought this for my wife to replace her laptop. This is a very powerful piece, she never sees a slow down during use. The only thing she doesn't like is the battery life - but because this is more of a gaming computer with more power it does use the battery quicker than she is used to.

My laptop that I replaced with the Lenovo Y700 cost almost twice as much as this laptop. Excellent graphics, speaker system and have not encountered any issues with the laptop.

It is a lot faster and plays games very well the speaker system is better than we thought
