Perfect configuration for gaming. I have had the best gaming experience with this laptop. Simply Love it.

Purchased this for school as well as some light gaming. It does both very well, and the laptop is light.

Runs all games on my library, some better than others. Screen resolution is great. I like the illuminated mechanical keyboard, even though some think its a nuissance. I think the track pad needs improvement. Sound is fantastic.

Really good laptop with a lot of power. Good audio system, and the touch screen is a nice addition. It is a little on the heavy side. but that is to be expected with these specs.

Firstly I purchased this item because of all the wonderful things I heard. Secondly because it was super fast or so I was told. Well I purchased the laptop and I had to exchange it, The screen would go black and freeze. I exchanged it for the same exact laptop because geeks quad said it must of been a faulty one, well I've had this new one for about a week and it's very slow and semi freezes. I'm not sure if I'm just "lucky" or it's a no good laptop. But when it's working right it's fast and I love the speakers!

I'm a mechanical engineering major in college and use my laptop for some hefty programs like MATLAB and AUTOCAD. I also usually need to store a large amount of files on my laptop as well. This laptop is really designed for gaming, but runs my programs for school just as well.

It's a great gaming computer. Very fast. Does get very hot.

With 8gb ram and 1tb hardrive this computer is perfecet for any project. Lenovo has come a long way and this thing is a beast

It's now a 10/10 since I dropped an ssd in with clean windows Runs games with no lag on high settings across the board

I'm enjoying my laptop. Great for streaming videos, gaming and running several applications all at the same time.

Bought this to replace a Dell XPS 17 based on the reviews and config. Had issues with different drivers from day 1, system will shutdown & restart on its own. Updated all drivers, still graphics issues. Civilization 5 will hang the system & will have to force shut down and this happens often. Google says its a common issue for Windows 10, not sure. Have to say this has the best speakers in a laptop i have seen. Display also is excellent. No issues connecting to my projector and bluetooth speakers. Overall a good buy probably for the price.

Only downside was the weight. The speed and processing was surprisingly good. The looks are phenomenal.

Need this computer to run a CAD program for work. It had all the specs I needed at a very reasonable price. Runs multiple programs smoothly and quickly with no crashing. I don't know too much anbout the gaming aspects of it, but it is a great gaming computer for a wonderful price.

This is the best bang for buck gaming laptop. Plays games well with high resolution settings.

Out of the box, the Lenovo y700 model that I purchased needed some display driver upgrades that were kind of tricky to find and install. The issue with the drivers were that the screen would flicker and sometimes black out. It has since been resolved at no cost through some internet research and the issue hasn't recurred. The other issue I have is why put an awesome processor with awesome ram, then use a 4800 rpm hard drive??? The bottleneck is definitely the hard drive so I will soon be upgrading to an SSD. Overall, the laptop performs very well minus the slow hard drive because once programs load, it is very fast and can handle many different heavy tasks at one time. For the price, this laptop is amazing, the build quality is solid, and the finish is really nice although it is an instant fingerprint magnet. Battery life is okay at best, but expected for this beast of a processor. It lasts about 3-4 hours unplugged before it starts warning you about low battery. It has intel HD graphics and also an Invidia GeForce 960m 4g gddr5 graphics card. The backlit keyboard is nice, but would have been cooler if you could select the LED colors. They are red and can be dimmed and turned on or off. The battery is not removable without taking the laptop apart and to upgrade RAM or the hard drive, you must also take the laptop apart, there are no access doors on the bottom for easy part upgrades. The sound is pretty good with the onboard JBL speakers and it is quite loud for a laptop. You could use it for presentation audio in a quiet room and it would be adequate without external speakers. To summarize, its good for its price, and close to perfect with a few hundred dollar upgraded hard drive. I paid around $1000 for it with the i7 8gigs ddr5 ram and a 1TB spinning hard drive but now its listed for less than $900. I can't see it being outperformed by anything in its price range with an SSD upgrade. The ram is silly fast and the processor is great.

My son loved his new gaming computer he got for christmas. So far it's working wonderfully.

When on sale, this is a great buy that outperforms other laptops in the same price range.

Great graphics .great keyboard spacious .battery life is not the best but it's sufficient I love the fact computer does not get hot after long use.

I'm developing software, use DB and therefore I upgraded the laptop with a 500 GB SSD and to 16GB ram. In this configuration it is a real treat! Cool backlit keyboard, great display (very sharp), very fast matches the speed of my 6 core desktop.
