A great laptop for anything from writing to gaming. Setup was easy and I'm very happy with the specs. This is also a touchscreen laptop, which I had no clue of when I got it!

ive had this thing for 6 months now and the specs are great for what i paid but just like all tech savvys, u always wish it had more features. for example i think they couldve squeezed in an 8gb vs the 4. or maybe a stronger Gcard. the touch screen is standard in all 16' models and 1tb is the norm so nothing really stands out besides the price tag. overall im satisfied but if you have the money go for something else.

You see reviews for gaming but this laptop also works great for DJing. I bought 2 of these and impressed. I also do video DJing with it too and runs smooth. The illumination of keyboard is great at night. Thank you!

I purchased the y700 because I need a laptop actually got a open box then Best Buy gave me a additional 20% off and I had $55 in Best Buy rewards so ended up getting it for $480 then I upgraded the ram to the full 16gb and put 256gb ssd in move Windows over to the ssd to boot up and the 1 TB is for on board storage which I won't use because I have 2 1tb portable hard drives but all in all I spent and additional $223.06 to make my laptop a $1800 laptop so I am quite happy for that I purchased!!!!!

First off, I'd give this a 4.75 stars or 4.9 if that was an option. I bought this computer hopeful that the cpu performance would outperform my current desktop computer. IT DOES!! What an upgrade! I'm not a heavy gamer, far from it. But I do use Photoshop, LightRoom Photomatix, DXO Optics Pro 10, and Corel PSP a lot though and I wanted something that didn't lag so long I fell asleep between actions. This accomplishes that. Just for comparison I've got 18mp Canon raw files that I use the DxO Optics Pro 10 set to Landscape Stadard, with Noise Reduction Prime turned on, and 9 images take less than 6 minutes. That would have taken 20+ minutes on my old machine. The bonus that I didn't even realize before I bought the computer is the screen is viewable from most angles with little to no color shifts. The 1TB drive is great. The drawback is the amount of ram it comes with, but just throw a bunch in there for a few bucks more and you're rockin it.

It's been a great computer! Runs everything so smooth, all Adobe products and more! Battery life is also excellent. The speakers are the real kicker. Never knew what I was missing until you hear these.

Great laptop although it takes some time to load but can easily be fixed by changing to an ssd. Computer boots almost instantly. Highly recommended. Only thing is that it gets dirty very easily.

great laptop for the price. I bought this computer for my son as he needed a laptop to utilize for his gaming as well as his writing work. He has had nothing but high praise for the laptop.

Haven't started playing heavier games yet but cooling seems like it will be a drawback with this small laptop. CPU gets pretty hot under load, upwards of 80* C. Other than that, great laptop

This new Ideapad from Lenovo is a breath of fresh air for a gaming laptop. A more than capable graphics chip for medium to high settings in the latest triple AAA titles. That brushed aluminum on the top and bottom is cool to touch and gives the laptop a premium feel and look. Would recommend.

Was able to run newer games on high setting at a much better price than Alienware or Asus Rog.

Touch screen works great, and the speakers are pretty good for the size. So far a great laptop

For the price point (on sale), this laptop functions excellently and has features that many others at the same price point lack (such as a touchscreen). The first one I purchased suffered from the common display driver issues right out of the box and even after updating the drivers, it would still crash and go to black screen at various times (including when attempting to start the computer on battery). After exchanging it, I updated the drivers on my new one immediately before installing any other software. I am happy to say that it has not crashed once in over three weeks of use.

My son love his gift. He love this laptop. Thin and light weight, clear to views. Easy to access to the internet. Loading pages was faster. Great Christmas gift.

Awesome laptop, haven't had any issues thus far. Very fast and very easy to use. Amazing graphics and light up keyboard to go along. Overall great buy!

We bought this as a replacement for another Levono that had a broken hinge. The dog is the guilty party. My son (18) did the research trying to find a laptop comparable to the one that was damaged. He has not had a single complaint and is thrilled he can play online games, even with our horrible internet connection. He uses it for presentations for Scouts and the Order of the Arrow and for note taking at school. It has been an extremely versatile laptop.
