I have one of the i5 Yogas and was encouraged by my wife to upgrade to the Yoga Pro i7 (so she could have the i5). I love the Yoga, and tolerate its shortcomings because of all the great things about it. The speed is unmatched in anything I've ever had. The SSD drives boot to the desktop in 8 seconds or less. It is very thin and lightweight and has the highest resolution of any display I've ever seen - which is part of the problem. I use RDP to access my server at work, and the resolution makes it near impossible to use because it is so small I can't read it. I have to change the resolution before I log in to make it usable. Battery life, just like the i5 is very poor compared to what they say it is - by about 50%. New out of the box does not get you anywhere near 6 hours of use. The i7, compared to my older i5 gets so hot it's uncomfortable to have it on your lap for sustained use. Finally, the price is about $200 higher that I'd think it should be. The demand must be awfully high to keep the on-sale price at $1099. Overall, the good far outweighs the bad and I'd definitely recommend this to anyone.

I have only had it for about a month, but so far everything is good about it. Good screen, is fast, I love the solid state hd .. no complains.. I miss the RJ45 Ethernet, I really need it for my work when programing machines, PLCs, robots.. and so on, but I already knew when I bought it. I don't like to have the pre-installed software (antivirus mainly), it forces you to keep it or remove it, and to remove an "antivirus" is not always so easy.

I have been testing this laptop for almost 2 months now. It has some great features but also some compromises (speakers, trackpad, no CD/DVD drives,...) to make it light and thin. Pro: -Portable (for an i7, with 256 SSD): It weighs around 3 lbs. It is slim. Your friends would be kinda of jealous seeing you pull this out, compare to their heavy chunky laptop. -Fast. It takes only a few secs to boot up. -Feel smooth when using -They also come with some Lenovo cool apps. -Once, you are used to the keyboard, it actually feels great and bouncy. ===> the weight, the slimness, the core, the price: yah it seems good for 1000$ Cons: -QHD screen. Many software (including spotify, Google chrome, kindle desktop,...) don't support this high resolution, and you end up with blurry interface and/or tiny icon buttons. ==> You decide to lower your screen resolution and adjust the content size to get a better view. Quite a hassle. Thank Lenovo, for a "future-proof" technology. -Scratches. The finish cover of the laptop makes it prone to scratches and dents. ==> Make sure you treat this "baby" as a baby. -Trackpad. It has a pretty weird trackpad. Sometimes, tapping doesn't work. Left click only works when pressing the very left corner. Elsewhere press is understood as right click. -Dirt/Lints. The keyboard, and the margin of the screen pick up dirt and lints really quickly. -Keyboard. Due to the matte finish, it picks up oil from your fingers leaving the keyboard look kinda grossing shiny.==> Frequent cleaning solves this problem. (im talking about once/week frequency) -Speakers. They are clear, but are not as loud as other laptop (compare to my HP and Mac) -Charger. I dont know if this a defect with my own case but the connection between core and adapter is kinda loose. I usually have to adjust them every time charging. -Modes. The 4 modes dont always show up great. +Stand: When i try to use the touch screen in stand mode, the hinging screen moves back and forth a lot. In the long run, this may harm the laptop. +Tablet mode: Not that great. Unless you just leave it on the surface, you will have to touch and accidentally press somewhere on your keyboard. In the long run, it lowers the quality of your keyboard, and trackpad. +Tent mode. Watch out. Sometimes, (actually many times) the screen doesnt rotate. But for a powerful and portable 2-in-1, you dont have a lot of choice. Surface pro 3 doesnt offer the price 1000$ for its i7 model and it also has a smaller screen. Mac air is great, but more expensive if you trying to get the same quality processor. *************************************************** ====> FINAL: If you are not about the ultralight and ultra thin reason, you have way more options for this price range. Go shopping around, you may find a more suitable one

I really like the form factor, weight and handling of this 2-in-1. Right size laptop or a large tablet. It started out running about 5 hours on a charge, but has dropped to close to 3.5 after various installations and applications. I suspect this is why Lenovo went to the Intel M processor in the Yoga 3. It is enough for me, but little reserve. A full cross country flight would run out after a couple movies. The screen resolution is excellent, and it boots/reboots very quickly. Open box unit had a great price. Compared to Surface, no good pen support but great back lit keyboard and much better screen. Battery life would be much better on the Surface.

This PC has done the trick for me so far. I think it's best if I simply let you know pro's and con's Pro's: Sleek, light weight, easy to transport, quick start up, nice speakers, touch screen can be handy Con's: Not 100% sold on Windows 8. Sometimes if you have your left hand on the keys and try to move the pointer with your right hand search bars come up. Also, there are a ton of apps from Lenovo that I would never use taking up space. I just deleted them. I wish I would have gotten more memory as well but that's my fault. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase and would recommend this.

I just LOVE my new Lenovo. After purchasing and getting to know my Lenovo, I was informed by a family member that another distant family member actually worked for the Lenovo company. I had the opportunity to talk with this relative and we just had such a great time discussing features, speed, display, memory, convertibility, and all of the wonderful features this unit has to offer. It is lightning fast, and I have no complaints at all to mention. The keyboard is nice and responsive to touch, without having to be hard on the keys, the lighted feature of the keyboard is also wonderful. The keys light around the edges so it is soft on the eyes when working in a low light environment. I couldn't be happier with this computer.

I work a lot with computers and wanted a personal machine that was light, fast and easy to carry on business trips and vacations but I also wanted enough power to load all my pictures, music, some videos and work in excel, access or photoshop. This machines delivers and the 256 gb solid state drive and has the extra space tablets can't deliver. I also have enjoyed the many possible screen positions. I have found it handy for reading in tent mode during a fast food lunch, or sitting tablet mode in front of the TV or working heads down in laptop mode. Windows is still a little skitzo in the fact that it has touch screens and old fashion mouse navigated environments but I find this helpful because you just can't do everything with you finger. Try working in a complex spreadsheet using your finger all the time. Overall I am please with this machine but have found some apps too small in this super high resolution screens and I have to use the trackpad or mouse. Excel and photoshop are like this. I do have an older version of photoshop so its' possible a newer version has addressed issue.

I switched to this from an Asus that only lasted 13 months. So far it is a great laptop. My Asus was a 15 inch so I was concerned how I would like the much smaller 13 inch. No worries - the only thing I am still working on getting used to is the space bar - you need to hit it closer to the middle instead of near the end of the bar. I chose to use a mouse instead of the pad but that is just me. Screen resolution is excellent and the latest updates of Windows 8.1 have made it much less frustrating to use. The light weight and slim profile make it a dream to travel with too. Have not taken advantage of the tablet mode yet but is nice to have that option. The I7 processor seems pretty fast. Would certainly buy it again.

Coming from an ASUS touchscreen ultrabook to this, I am very pleased with my upgrade. All of the usual speed and capacity upgrades that come with time aside, the flexibility of the 360 degree hinge is amazing, and I find myself using it in all positions often. The Hinge Coming from a laptop that only opened about 110 degrees, even just the fact that you can open it to say 150 degrees in normal laptop mode while it is actually on your lap is a big boon. Backwards mode (? not sure what to call it... keyboard face down and away from you with the screen angled back a bit) is great for watching videos, Tent mode provides stability for heavy touchscreen use, and tablet mode is self explanatory. The Screen The high resolution screen is wonderful, though I can definitely tell the pixels are zigzagged (pentile matrix), because single pixel thin lines do not look straight... it's more like newspaper print, and can be off-putting when reading articles that use thin serif fonts. I run it in 1152p mode with no magnification because it's a comfortable resolution for me, and by not running at native resolution, there is some anti-aliasing to make it a little smoother without the odd effects in some programs when using DPI scaling. As for brightness- at first I thought the screen was very dim, even at the highest setting, but after turning off automatic dimming in the Windows settings, it is great. I'd rather control brightness myself. Cons There are only 2 disappointments to me: The trackpad and the build material/strength of the lid. The trackpad is bordering on useless for me; it's easier just to touch. It's small, jumpy, hard to right-click, doesn't like you resting your thumb on the pad for left-clicks... seriously, get a mouse. As for the screen, I almost always buy full metal laptops, not because I'm necessarily hard on them, but I like them to look and feel robust. With a laptop like this, you are constantly messing with the screen angle, so it should have been particularly important. Unfortunately, It flexes way too much for my comfort, particularly when adjusting it with one hand. I feel like I have already bent it, though it's hard to tell. I am to the point now where I verrrry slowly adjust the angle while holding it in the vertical center of both ends. Even when the lid is closed it will flex in the middle because of the gap where the trackpad is. It's not exactly confidence-inspiring. Conclusion In the end, I chose the Yoga 2 over the 3 because of the better processor specs. Battery time is not overly important to me, but speed is, and this is excellent in that regard. Between the speed, RAM, capacity, high-speed wireless, and high-resolution screen, it is a perfect programming laptop to sit on top of my FitDesk.

I purchased the Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 because at the current price ($1049.99) it is possible to get a much more powerful machine than the Surface Pro 3. To get the i7 processor and the 256GB SSD on Microsoft's system runs $500 more, not including the keyboard. The system is nice and light with a responsive keyboard. I do wish the keyboard detached as it is a little awkward to hold this as a tablet with the keyboard (which does lock) facing downward. I also wish Lenovo had a specific pen to use with the system, though it was not difficult to find one that does a good job. Between the power and speed of the system I am very pleased with its performance. Anyone looking for a versatile ultrabook should consider it. One more word of warning: Make sure you get this updated version from Best Buy (I don't believe they have any of the earlier production models anymore, but other retailers are still selling them). The new version has AC compatible Wi-Fi where the original does not. The original's Wi-Fi radio is widely reported as problematic, but the new AC radio works perfectly.

I was an Apple user. I had the MacBook, iPad, etc but I wanted to reduce the amount of devices used. This was ideal and then some. I use the laptop mode when I have to conduct business, stand mode when creating illustrations and tablet mode for reading. The Core i7 processor and 8 GB memory allows the Yoga 2 Pro stand out by bringing exceptional responsiveness and speed. The screen resolution brings the pixels in extremely tight beyond that of HD quality. If you are concerned with aesthetics as well as functionality, you will not be disappointed. The outer body is simple and sleek while the black panel surrounding the keyboard allows the user to maintain a comfortable grip without the fear of dropping the device while in tablet mode. The cons are limited with this device but it depends on personal preference. Battery life is limited to an extent but this to be expected. The keys, though they cease functioning in different modes, are still exposed. If you have an existing ailment with a wrist, holding this model with one hand in tablet mode will present considerable strain. On the other side of the coin, the weight gives a feel of durability...and for an ultrabook, is very ideal. Nevertheless, I wouldn't recommend that one should take this ultrabook on a military mobilization or something to that effect. If the price is right for you, the Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro will indeed provide the functionality and versatility you require for a life on the go.

As a person often traveling great distances internationally for work, I wanted as lightweight a computer as possible that still would be high-powered enough for the work that I needed to do (meaning that a tablet would be insufficient). At a recent presentation, I was thrilled to have this computer handy, flipping it into tent mode and reading off of it, using the touch screen to move through slides and animations as the large projector displayed my information in another language. Only complaint is that the mouse pad is very sensitive, but perhaps that's just something that I notice because my previous laptops were not as sensitive!

I was skeptical about the new touch screen laptops, but it seems majority of top PCs makers are taking that route now, so I decided to give it a shot. I love the flexibility (literally) of being able to use my Yoga Pro 2 in various different ways - 'normal laptop,' tent mode, tablet, etc. The battery life is decent, though I'm not sure it has quite the duration as claimed. The screen resolution is beautiful! However, IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT HIGH DPI SCREEN RESOLUTION: there are some programs that are not equipped to accommodate the high resolution, resulting in VERY SMALL tool bars and menus (older versions of Microsoft Office, some Photoshop/Photoshop Elements prior to PE 13, other Adobe products). The user interface of some of these programs is so small that they are practically impossible to use. So be aware that if you use the products, you will likely have to upgrade and purchase the newest versions. Aside of the high resolution screen problem with some programs, I do really like this computer and am very pleased that I decided to give the touch screen Yoga Pro 2 a shot.

This is hands-down the best laptop I've ever owned; as a graduate student in college, I need something lightweight and powerful with the battery life to last through 2-3 classes a day. This laptop delivers on all fronts - it is ultra-portable and ultra-fast, utilizing its SSD hard drive to the fullest. It also folds easily into a tablet, which is good for drawing and playing games once I get home. The only problems I have with it are this: 1) This laptop is not priced for students. I had to scrape together for a year to buy this laptop (which I consider a sound investment); this means it is inaccessible to the people who would likely get the most benefit from its capabilities. It is an amazing laptop and worth the extra money, but it is a bit too expensive for a lot of students, who will likely turn to cheaper and inferior alternatives in the face of a $1200 price tag. 2) The 3200x1800 resolution is crisp and refreshing in most programs (Mozilla Firefox, Paint, Microsoft Office, etc.); however, it is counterproductive in others. The super-high resolution reaches its limit in Google Chrome, for example, by becoming blurry until you zoom in to an unbearably large size. It also causes problems in Adobe products (Reader, Photoshop, etc.) - the icons don't get larger for the resolution size, so they appear miniscule on the screen and cannot be made larger by zooming. Despite these issues, this is a mostly-perfect laptop that I would recommend to anyone. Even Windows 8 isn't that bad, once you get used to it.

My previous employer bought a set of these laptops in summer 2013. We used them at docks (2 monitors, keyboard & mouse) in the office and by themselves on the road. They held up quite well, the keyboard and trackpad felt good, and battery life was pretty decent. There were only two small problems: - Moving windows between screens would sometimes result in weird font/window sizing issues. - I had troubles connecting to some hotel Wifi networks (more in the rooms that in conference areas), but wasn't able to discern if this was the hotel, the laptop, or a Windows 8.1 thing. After I left that employer, I bought the laptop in early 2015 for my consulting work. I picked it over the new version because I saw many professional reviews unhappy with the Core M chip, and didn't want to sacrifice performance for an extra hour or so of battery life. I still encounter the weird sizing issue when I move a window to a second (lower resolution) monitor but have had no troubles with the wifi. I like having the tablet mode for reviewing documents and web surfing. It is light, but more awkward to hold than an iPad. Still, happy not to have to take an extra piece of tech along on short trips or out of bag on a plane.

After I bought this computer I hated it! I was on the phone with Geek Squad everyday for four days and then I returned it. Heres why. The store model was very misdirecting. They had all the settings blown up, everything looked full screen, that is not how it is. Everything is smaill and you have to blow each and every page or email up to see it so it is readable. I also had a 15" screen before this computer and then went down to this 13" The Lenovo I returned was a defected one and I exchanged for a new one that was not as bad as the 1st. still small, but called Lenovo and the helped me resolve. The good. I LOVE this computer now that my "small" issue is resolved. The lighted keyboard is nice in a low lit area at night, the keyboard feels great, the 90 degree bending, laptop, tent, tablet, stand it makes it great to use all the different modes when do different things. I am still figuring out all the options and things it does but do LOVE it now!!

It's all I was looking for from a laptop: fast, light, easy to use. The only thing I should have given mor thought to is that this device has not an Ethernet port, wich I in general find very useful when working in home/office. Until now I don't find very useful the "tablet" mode because I much rather use my mobile phone for quick navigation. I strongly suggest this item
