love it! light and fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop. I was looking for a light and fast laptop that could handle my full-time work days. This fits the bill -- and it got the best reviews on Lenovo.com by users, which is what convinced me to buy it.

Excessive display resolution, lacks performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Native resolution is 3200x1800. This has 76,211 pixels per inch. A 32" 1080p TV has 14,235 SUB-pixels per inch. This Lenovo display's pixels are 435% smaller than the SUB-pixels of a 32" 1080p TV and has 277% more pixels. Sub-pixels are not meant to be seen. For example the color yellow is not displayed, green and blue SUB-pixels next to each other are so small are out of focus and you see yellow. The same thing happens with the regular pixels of this display. I made one pixel wide green and blue lines go across the screen. To everyone I asked they said the faint lines were yellow, then with the same image cropped to native resolution on the 32" TV people said the lines were blue and green just like the computer program says they are. If what you draw cannot be seen or is distorted, then what is the point of a display? There is no 1800p media except photos (the dead pixels could not be seen) or games, which this thing does not have dedicated graphics and could not run a AAA title 277% higher than a 1080p display. Also for 400 dollars you could get a laptop with the same processor. Or for 1200 you could get a quad-core, 1TB HDD with secondary SSD, and a GTX 860m that only has a 1080p non flipping display. Also a Windows desktop is very thin at that resolution as pictured, shrink it down to 13.3" and you'll see how little the information is.

i love how fast it boots up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.windows 8 is a bear to learn have a ways to go. the touch screen I didn't think I'd like but now I find myself reaching for the desktop screen when it isn't a touch screen. I like the small size and weight.

Interesting
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.when i first purchases this laptop i hated it. i hated everything about it, but as i broke into it i discovered there are some really nifty programs and physical options. onenote is about the best program you could ask for. anything you need to jot down or an idea you have that you need to draw out, its great. and the tablet itself has a descent size screen, the yoga positions are greats for the following scenarios: laptop-writing a paper or prolonged use of a back-lit keyboard. stand-making dinner/reading recipes. use a clean knuckle to scroll, and dont have to worry about getting food in the keys-delightful. plus i dont have to lean it on anything or worry about it falling. its great. tent-playing music. the rubberized edges make it pretty easy to rest the tablet/laptop just about anywhere, and bc of where the speakers are positioned the sound quality in tent position is wonderful. tablet-utilizing any touch screen aspect. being able to have a flat surface that i can tilt to whatever is comfortable makes it very easy to use the tablet, well as a tablet. all n all 8/10 would buy again. would recommend. as for denotes: the charms feature of the tracpad drive me crazy. im constantly accidentally moving my hand over from the right which prompts a menu to come up. i hate it. and the setting allow you to turn this off, however-being so versatile allows me to multi-task, and moving your hand from the left switches your screen from current window to most recent, and previous, and so forth, which is SO useful. so i do wish an update would be made to assign actions to these gestures or turn off specific gestures. other than that, this is a solid piece of hardware.

Great home computer for my needs.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I expected a great product in Lenovo. Yoga 2 Pro 2-1 is really nice. I have been working with a tablet but needed a computer. Since my purchase I automatically blend the computer and tablet features. I love the touch screen! I like the friendly tips for Windows - very useful. I am learning and have become more familiar with all its features the more I'm on it. The downside is the cover is a bit thin, not as durable as I would have liked.

Love at a First Sight
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I looked at a lot of laptops before buying this one. Serves my heavy photograghy needs such as using Lightroom 5 to process thousands of photos. Great screen, processor, 2in1 design and light weight! Meets all my needs and more. Windows 8.1 takes some getting use to but that is an issue with most new laptops.

Started Out Amazin
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was must first windows computer, so I was super excited when I purchased it. I purchased the computer right after Christmas on 12/28/14. SO far I have had it for a month. Everything about the computer is great, from the camera resolution, to the screen brilliance, to the dual screen options. All the apps have been easy to navigate and use. I love the flexibility to turn it into a tablet, since I use it for both school and personal leisure. I only have two drawbacks about the computer: 1) The computer does not come with a stylus, and BestBuy does not sell a stylus that is compatible with this computer, so you have to go through Lenovo to get one. I think after all the money spent on the computer itself, the least it could do is have a stylus to help better navigate in other modes besides laptop mode. 2) Lately, the device has been doing this weird thing where the start menu or app screens do not come on when I start the computer. It only has a blank black screen as if it is trying to load, but NOTHING happens! It will stay like this all day if you let it (I know because it did so just to see if it would correct itself). I haven't even had the chance to download anything on it and it just does this. I have to actually shut it down again and then turn it back on. I took it to geek squad and they want to keep it for a week or more. When you are a student, one day without your computer is crucial, let alone a whole week! I don't feel like I should be having these types of issues and I have only had it ONE MONTH! I will only recommend this computer on the basis of these system glitches being fixed.

Great ultrabook for any user
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop one month ago and I am extremely happy with it. It's exactly the small, touchscreen, nicely-designed, thin and performant ultrabook I was looking for! The touchscreen is extremely useful but the keyboard is also great. The tablet mode is also amazing. When you fold it, the laptop is almost like a tablet. And even if the display is quite small ( 13.3 inches), I had no problem in using it (enev though I was previously using a 17 inch laptop). Good (but not awesome, because it's a small laptop) sound quality, turns on and off very fast, great display (except for the brightness, which, according to me, is sometimes too low) and great performance (not laggy at all :)).

fun, powerful tablet/laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the lenovo yoga 2 pro is working great so far--the tablet is easy to use (it's a little weird to have the keyboard exposed on the back in tablet mode, but the keys are deactivated so not an actual problem). occasional issues saving things from the 'tablet' interface to the 'laptop' interface, but nothing that can't be fixed. the keyboard is comfortable, the trackpad and touchscreen are very responsive. I wasn't sure i would use the touchscreen in laptop mode, but it turns out i do--it's just easier sometimes than navigating with the mouse. The downside is, when i work on non-touchscreens now, i find myself poking at the screen to no avail! the yoga is extremely light, and sleek, the power cord connects securely, it stays cool and the battery has a solid 5-6 hours with heavy use (games, video). the hinges feel solid, i haven't had any issues with 'bounce' in laptop or in stand mode. this laptop is a serious investemnt, but it's a good value for the price. I had compared this to surface tablets before buying, and i am glad I went with this 13-inch model. there is a major issue with most of the windows 8.1 generation touchscreens and screen resolution: most of them have higher resolution than necessary (presumably to compete with 'retina' displays). this is also true for the yoga. the problem with the high resolution is a. draining battery life and b. tiny print in the windows interface. you can't change fix a. and for b. there is not a good fix. by having a 13" rather than 11" screen, the yoga is at least legible with 20/20 vision. really the only things that I dont' love have to do with 8.1, rather than the yoga. for a number of apps, they try to force you to link your microsoft account. I am not a fan of this. on the plus side, by using the 'desktop program' version of the app, you can usually avoid linking to microsoft, so it's a definite plus that the yoga is not a pure tablet. also, in 8.1 the start menu has been altered: the familiar windows icon in the lower left corner now takes you to the tablet home screen, rather than the start menu. it takes some practice, but you can find the same functionality in different places (e.g. swipe in from the right margin of the screen to access settings or search). all in all, this machine works very well. the interface will take some getting used to, but makes sense once you get over the learning curve.

on paper amazing, in reality OK
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I usually buy a new laptop every 2 years. my old Toshiba I5 (2. generation) was now 3 years old as I was looking for a new ultrabook but could not find anything I liked in the price range up to $1500. This ultrabook sound amazing. 8GB ram, i7 (4 generation) , 256 GB SSD, amazing video capabilities, touchscreen! but when I use it next to my old one (i5, 8 GB RAM, 180GB SSD, win 7 ultima) I don't see any difference. In the contrary, some things slow down after 2-3 days without a restart. Interesting things: I have 2 x Dell 24 inch monitors connected, one through the micro HDMI and 1 through a USB3 to HDMI video card. The USB 3 is amazing!. If needed I can have an external HDD, a printer and the video card all on the same USB and everything is still working fast enough. If I have any video problems they will be with the micro HDMI, which will not initialize, I will have to put the laptop to sleep mode and then try again, usually it will work after that. if the laptop goes to sleep it will leave the monitor that is connected through the USB3 on, it will not go to sleep mode automatically. Battery is not removable, which is sad if you have the laptop on power all the time except when you travel like I do. on my old Toshiba I would just remove the battery so I don't have the yo-yo effect. Touchscreen is fun, not usable for serious work though. Sound is very good, very surprised by it. Camera is great! 720p! Keyboard is great, love it. Size is also great. Feels and looks very solid. all in all, you can't find a better laptop for that money (paid $1198) at the moment. For alternatives you must spend at least 50% more. Amazing price Bestbuy, nice work.

Good computer for daily use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a Lenovo - Yoga 2 Pro 2-in-1 13.3" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i7 - 8GB Memory - 256GB Solid State Drive - Silver computer six months ago. Overall, it has operated very well. It is fast and handles complicated statistical programs as well as movies and videos. I would buy it again. The only issue, thus far, is it tends to become hot, and thus having it on the lap can be sometimes uncomfortable.

great product

amazing computer

Amazing little computer for anyone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This ultra book is amazing. The style and texture are real nice. The keyboard lights up and is comfortable to do a lot of typing on. The screen and picture are great. I often like to watch movies on mine. It is pretty cool how it folds over like a tablet or to sit up tent style. It is so light weight and easy to pick up with just one hand. I love how small and thin it is. The only issue might have, which really is not an issue, is how small the screen resolution is. I need to find a way to tweak that better. Overall it is an amazing product. I choose this over the new Dell ultra book and I am very glad I did. I really love my Lenovo

Great machine with minor software glitches
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, this machine was a great buy and its versatility is all that it is cracked up to be. It's fast, light and quite nice to work with in any of its various forms. The only reason to not give 5 stars is because of Bluetooth connectivity. I have a Bluetooth mouse and it is continuously being dropped. Lenovo and/or MS need to get this fixed. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this machine to anyone.

Better than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Ultrabook/Hybrid. Pretty fast with the i7 8gb-256gb SSD. This is not a power PC so there's no need to compare. Only complaint is I have to shut down from the Start Menu (not the, slide in from the right, menu) or else the screen will turn black but Yoga2 PRO will not turn off, or back on, and I need to hard reset to get it working again. I'm guessing it's a bug in 8.1 (surprise). I've actually begun to like 8.1 after using it for a while. It fits well with the Yoga2 PRO. Excellent screen with great touch input and it's light and very thin. Battery lasts about 6 hrs or so but I wish it lasted longer, like other Ultrabooks in the same price range. Overall really glad I bought it. In my experience, Lenovo has always been reliable.

I love this laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop. The 360 degree rotating screen allows viewing in 4 different angles. Laptop, tablet etc. etc. The keys are backlit so you can even use it in the dark easily. The 250 Gig hard drive limitation is fine since I have a 2 T external drive anyway. The HD is great. Keys are very responsive. I7 processor is terrific. Unbelievably light weight. Has bluetooth. Can connect wirelessly to new TVs with Intel Widi but can still buy adapter for 60 bucks to connect to other TVs wirelessly. I have not tested battery life yet, but suppose to be about 7 hrs. You will need an external disk player to hook up to it if you want to use cds or dvds. The technology is built around downloading everything from the internet. I really only see this being an issue if you have software not available on download (not much any more), but you can always get the external drive if needed. It has one usb 3.0 and one 2.0. It has a card reader and micro hd. It has a solid state hard drive. Sound is best I have heard yet from a laptop. I have had this about 2 months now and I could not be happier. Good solid construction, especially on the hinges and a very good looking unit! Could go on and on. My first Lenovo but probably not my last.
