  • Sold Faulty Laptop, GeekSquad would not repair.

    Purchased this laptop, about 2 months in it began to overheat when not in use to point laptop would shut down for thermal protection. Went to Geeksquad to get it reviewed, and they wanted $100 to look at it, $400 to fix it. Called Geek Squad Customer service, walked them through they stated it should be free service as the laptop was just purchased. They typed in notes, stating it should be free service, and giving detailed notes about what the problem is. Likely issue is voltage regulation on the motherboard. Return in store to go to the appointment scheduled by customer support that pulled my info stating it should be covered under warranty repair. They immediately tried to charge me the $100 again, and then tried to sell me a new laptop battery. The problem is in the Voltage Regulation on the motherboard, but they try to sell me a new battery for the laptop and they had not even touched the laptop at this point. BestBuy sold me a faulty laptop - Claimed it would be serviced for free, immediately tried to charge me. I complained, told it would be serviced free of charge, and once again tried to charge me. I do not recomend buying through bestbuy, find another vendor that will work to honor their services promises.

    I think I love it. No issues so far and I use my Yoga daily but mostly personnal. Still learing what all it can do. I have not used this Copilot button once yet so that feature wasnt a great saling point for me.

    Computer works well for what I needed. I’m a student in college, so I just wanted something that I could do homework on and run Roblox. Touch screen is nice.

      Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your Yoga 7 2-in-1. We wish to provide the best experience possible, and we apologize for the concerns this has caused you. We will investigate the matter to determine what could be the root issues, but in the meantime, we'd like to work with you to address this to improve your experience.

      To start, with internal heat production, this Yoga 7 features an active cooling system, along with other components and software, designed to enable the user to power through work without throttling due to heat produced. We recommend that the bottom of the device, where the air intake vents are, is clear of obstructions to increase air flow. Additionally, this features Smart Control, enabling the user to use the key command combination of Fn + Q to toggle between thermal/performance mode. For instances where you may use the device in your lap or a situation where the intake vents may be obstructed, we recommend switching to cool or quiet mode to help with the heat felt on the bottom of the machine. Also, please check for and apply any available updates through Lenovo Vantage and Windows Update Settings to help ensure you are using the latest software and drivers to ensure your system is running as efficiently as possible.
