    Best computer for travel!

I bought the Lenovo Yoga to have a fully functional computer while traveling, and this one has delivered! It's lightweight and slim enough to pack easily, yet has the power to run the programs I need, connects to whatever wifi is available, and the very-close-to-full-sized keyboard allows for accurate typing. The Yoga is hands down the best travel computer I've had.

Lenovo Yoga 700 - my laptop for years to come

I purchased this laptop Sunday April 10th. Immediately after the purchase I had Geek Squad install the virus protection I decided on (webroot) and had Microsoft Office installed. I never got around to actually setting up the laptop myself until the 18th. When I did, all I could really think is "this laptop is fast!". - I got all of my iTunes music (about 20GB) onto the Lenovo in less than 10 minutes. - opening up programs is a breeze because they open practically when you tell them to open. - Mozilla Firefox and iTunes were downloaded and installed within 2 minutes each. -the Lenovo turns on quickly as well (about as fast as my iPad mini - less than 1 minute). Other things to mention: The laptop is small and lightweight so it's going to be very easy to carry around should I need or want to do so. The battery life is insane! The laptop was at 70% when I was using it to get my music, programs, and documents onto it and by the time I was done there was still 40% left. I used the laptop from 9:30-2:40. That's 5 hours. That, to me, is impressive. The tablet mode is interesting. I probably won't be using it as a tablet because I have an iPad mini but for those that don't already have a tablet you should like this feature. The screen is easy to rotate and is very responsive to touch. When I did try it out I tested the keyboard underneath - not 1 key that was pressed did anything. Switching back to laptop mode allowed me to use the keyboard again and was done quickly. The speakers are on the bottom of the laptop. I think the speakers would have been better if they were above the keyboard instead. They're not bad speakers or anything, they're just not as loud as they could be because of their placement. The speakers on my old laptop are above the keyboard and therefore are much louder. In terms of sound quality the speakers are fine for my needs. The keyboard looks amazing. Black keys and the surrounding space is black with an etched look. Some people might not like this look but I think it looks stylish. The interior is not a fingerprint magnet (screen could be with enough usage - can't comment on that though) due to the finish (more metal, less glossy). The description on the page says the Lenovo Yoga 700 has a backlit keyboard... I haven't found anything on the laptop to activate a backlight so I'm thinking it does not have the feature. Initially I was bummed over this but I think it's better to not have the option - just another thing to cause the battery to drain and any typing that you do in the dark will be visible on the screen as you hit different keys. The exterior color is light silver and doesn't attract fingerprints. I kinda wish the exterior was black instead but the light silver isn't the worst thing ever. The screen is fine. The colors are clear and bright as are words on the screen. I have no problem with how pictures load or with viewing angles. I have the screen set to auto bright. I was able to set up 2 different Wi-Fi connections without a problem. The laptop found plenty of options within seconds of looking and connected to the ones I wanted with no effort. I find Windows 10 to be similar to Windows 7. There's a start button at the bottom left of the screen and you can open any apps you decide to install of you can search through programs that you have - all are alphabetical and easy to search for. You can pin programs to the bottom of the screen for easy access or you can create a shortcut and place it anywhere you'd like on the screen. You can have 2 different programs open side by side if you're working on a project or want to do 2 things at once. Personalizing the laptop was very easy. I like how you can use any background you want and, if you select this option, a color scheme is automatically created for you - from a colors that are in the background you decided on. Screensavers are simple (I went with bubbles) and you have plenty of options for saving power when you're not using the laptop. I think this is a laptop that I will enjoy using for the next few years. If you get this Lenovo Yoga you'll end up liking it too.

Excellent Laptop for Work or Play

I needed a new laptop for work and decided on this one due to the 8gb of RAM, the SSD and it's affordability. So far I have not been disappointed. My work requires heavy internet and word processing use, and this laptop hasn't slowed down a bit. It is also great using the Yoga feature when I want to watch Netflix on the couch - works great in tablet mode! I did have an issue with the display driver (and after googling, it seems to be fairly common) but after changing the driver settings to maximize performance, I've had no issues since. Overall I am very happy with its performance and lightweight design.

    Nice Laptop! Recommended!

I've always been a lenovo/thinkpad fan and after this experience, I still am. First of all, let me say that what I'm giving a review here for comes with 4GB or ram instead of 8GB. I've been doing some research to purchase a laptop for my newly graduate daughter for when she goes to college. When I look at reviews, I normally read the negative ones and I must say, those people who gave negative reviews, they must just had a bad luck because the one I purchased was excellent. No wireless connection drops. Quick processor. I mean it's not an i7 but starting a word processor in less than 5 seconds is fast enough for me. Screen resolution is great (high res). Touch screen is excellent. Can't really say anything bad about it. Tried opening lots of programs all at once and it handled it pretty well.

    A disappointment

I had high hopes for this little guy. I bought this to serve as a portable/travel laptop (my main one is a 17" HP Envy... great, but too big for airplane and such). This little Yoga looked great on paper. Decent memory, SSD, 2-in-1 features, and light! Wasn't sure about the Core M processor, but I bought it anyway. Well that Core M is definitely the weak link in this machine. It struggles to keep up with most basic computing needs, even bringing up emails is strenuous. Streaming videos look like sputtering slide-shows. It's tryin', but it's too weak. Poor little thing.

Great 2 in 1 for traveling. This model had more memory ( 8 gb) than most models in this price range and that made quite a difference in speed.

I mainly bought this machine for Windows platform programs. I'm mainly a Mac person but there are times when it's more convenient to have a PC to avoid compatibility issues. For what this is and the amount I paid, I'm highly satisfied with the quality of the laptop and it doesn't hurt that it looks pretty. ^_^

This week I ordered and received the Only-At-Best-Buy "Lenovo - Yoga 700 11 2-in-1 11.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core m3 - 8GB Memory - 128GB Solid State Drive - Light Silver ... Model: 80QE0044US ... SKU: 4844500" product for $650. This device actually identifies itself as a "Lenovo YOGA 700-11ISK" with Model Name: 80QE and MTM: 80QE0044US I'm posting this review to warn other consumers that some of the information provided on BestBuy.com's webpage for this device, under the Features section of the Overview tab, is NOT correct or accurate. Specifically, (a) it has 3 built-in USB ports, but only one is USB v3.0 and (b) the physical keyboard is not backlit at all! Here are snipets of that webpage [http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-yoga-700-11-2-in-1-11-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-m3-8gb-memory-128gb-solid-state-drive-light-silver/4844500.p?id=bb4844500&skuId=4844500] showing the erroneous information: 2 USB 3.0 ports maximize the latest high-speed devices Also includes 1 USB 2.0 port to connect more accessories and peripherals. The USB 3.0 ports are backward-compatible with USB 2.0 devices. Full backlit keyboard with 10-key numeric keypad Type comfortably, input numbers quickly and maneuver through games with ease. Touchpad with multitouch control. Easy typing in dim or dark locations. Caveat Emptor

The charging port on this system doubles as a USB-3.0 port when not being used for charging. The second USB 3.0 port is right next to it. The USB 2.o port is on the other side of this system.

There is no backlit keyboard. lenovo
