I was originally deciding between 2 other 8-inch tablets. I went into the store I saw the Yoga. I thought wow, that's different. The more I played with it, the more I liked it. I was looking for a tablet with expandable storage and decent audio. I also wanted something with a nice screen that felt great in hand. The Yoga delivers on this and then some. I really love the rounded side. It makes the tablet easy to grip for reading and browsing (like holding a rolled magazine). Push the release button in the back and it swings open. The first locking position holds the tablet upright which is great for viewing video. Laying it down creates a great angle for using the keyboard or laying on a table or desk for reading. Unfolding the tablet completely you can hang it on a hook for viewing. I haven't had occasion to try that. The tablet has a crisp 1280x800 resolution display. I find the brightness to be good in a bright sunlit room. I've watched HQ videos on Youtube and sports on WatchESPN and the quality of the images has been great. The display shows fingerprints when turned off, but they aren't noticeable when it's turned on. Lenovo included a polishing cloth which has done a great job cleaning the screen. The speakers are front facing and sound great. Dolby Atmos is included to customize the sound. Used in a bedroom or office, the sound nicely fills the room. Dolby Atmos also enhances the sound out of the audio jack if using headphones. The tablet has an 8 megapixel camera. The camera rotates so you can use it to take selfies or regular pictures. I'm not one to take pictures with a tablet, but I played around with it. It's easy to use and takes nice pictures, but there is no flash. The curved area of the tablet also holds its battery. I've found the battery life to be noticeably longer than other tablets I've used. The tablet isn't light as the metal hinge-stand and battery add weight. The back cover is a textured rubbery-feeling plastic. It feels upscale to me. I don't bring a tablet with me when leaving the house, though I do take it on vacation. I have ordered a travel case (generic) for it. Keep in mind that the tablet is bigger than most 8-inch tablets so you'll need to be careful when ordering a carrying sleeve. If you're wanting a super portable tablet, this might not be for you. Lenovo has shipped the Yoga 3 with a fairly stock version of Android Lollipop. The recent apps gives you options to clear all or to open up the task manager. Overall, the Lenovo Yoga 3 offers a compelling package at a reasonable price. I’m very happy with my purchase and would easily recommend it for its great sound, long battery life, crisp display, and upscale feel.

I'm a tablet junkie so I wanted something a little different. While the screen and functions are standard Android, the design is what got my attention. Along one side is a round bar...I love it! For one thing, I find it makes it easier to hold. The camera is cleverly mounted on the bar and it swivels, making it possible to take pictures to the side of you so if someone doesn't like being photographed, you can look like you're shooting away from them. Very clever indeed. Also, the bar swivels bringing down a kickstand allowing you to watch videos or cook without holding. One last thing...the kickstand also acts as a hanger, so you can hang it in the kitchen out of the way of spills or a workshop if you're using YouTube to do a task. This machine is VERY reasonably priced, too. The only downside is the weight. The bar makes it a tad heavier than other tablets that size but the trade-off for all it does is well worth the ounce or two. Seriously unique design.

I have found myself using this quite a bit more often than my old tablet, and for longer periods of time due to the long lasting battery. I have found that with regular usage it lasts 3-4 days between charges, and even when gaming it still lasts 2 days between charging. This is very responsive for moderate gaming, and just a little slow for more intensive games. Day to day note taking and surfing are snappy and sharp, but the weight due to that large capacity battery does cause a bit of strain after a while. The kick-stand helps with that, especially when paired with my bluetooth keyboard.

I have mixed feelings about this device. It's my first Android tablet and I was drawn by it's innovative form factor. The build quality is superb, very sturdy and solid, with built-in stand and truly AMAZING speakers for such a small device, the camera is very good, and the battery life great. It's great for watching media. But it seems very underpowered in terms of it's processor. There is often significant lag when switching and/or starting apps, enough to make me aggravated. A shame, because otherwise the device is awesome.

This tablet suits my needs. I use it for simple apps and reading books. It is a little heavy, but not too bad. It is comfortable to hold while reading. I like the kickstand. The Dolby sound is great. It does not come with tons of bloatware, like some other tablets. I would recommend this tablet.

    Awesome stand-Low Cost-Average Performance

The Yoga Tab 3 is the latest Android version of Lenovo's Yoga Tab tablets. The specs were reduced from the earlier version. However, the camera and stand were improved and the Android version is Lollipop. It is a fine low end tablet. The integrated stand is ridiculously handy. The average performance is about what one expects at this price point. It often lags going from portrait to landscape. Definitely not for gaming. The biggest disappointment is that every time one reboots the tablet, it reverts to using the default launcher, which isn't that great. I like to use the Google Now Launcher and have to go to the setting and reset 'Home" to Google Now Launcher every time I turn off the tablet or reboot. The battery life is stellar but very very slow charging. Works well for social media, YouTube, music, and reading.

Great Little Tablet for the Money

Purchased to replace my faithful Nexus 7 that was struggling with Android 5. This Yoga 3 8" has met my expectations. Everything transferred smoothly from the Nexus 7, so there has been very little learning curve. Works perfectly for my needs,, which are basically web-based, i.e. email, surfing, sharing photos, Google Drive, occasional light gaming, etc. The audio is very good, as indicated by other reviews and graphics are more than adequate for me. The unconventional form took a little getting used to. It is handy to hold in the portrait mode and the built-in kickstand is very convenient, once you get the knack of releasing it. Also liked the idea of the microSD slot and purchased a 64M card, but I'm not sure all ever need it. No complaints whatsoever. Do your research. You get what you pay for. Local retail store did not have it in stock at the time of purchase, so I ordered on-line. Arrived in three days as promised.

I really like the design and how the kick stand is used. I purchased it mainly for watching movies on road trips and planes. The built in kick stand works great. And you can turn it upside down and place it on a hook, in the kitchen or where ever. I have a 128gb micro sd card that I use for my movies. I also use it to entertain my 1 year old daughter when we are out at restaurants. I use my iPhone to tether to the tablet, whenever I need to stream Netflix and other apps and never had any issues. The battery life is pretty good on it as well. It is a well designed and the build quality is excellent.

What I really like about this tablet is battery life. I already have a Yoga 2 and I can tell the RAM is this Yoga 3 is not enough when you are browsing internet to watch videos o see a few websites at the same time. I think this could be a much better product with this little more technology investment at a higher price. It is just fine for the price.

A Slug in a Perfect Form Factor

It has only taken a few weeks for my Yoga Tab 3 8 performance to slow to a crawl. Since, I was replacing a broken iPad the difference is extreme. At this price, one doesn't expect a powerhouse, but perhaps a bit more than what we get here. However, I love the kickstand and the rounded battery area along the edge makes a perfect grip when viewing or reading in portrait mode. I love this form factor and prefer it to my old iPad. If you want to play games (other than board games), you probably want to look elsewhere. For browsing the internet and social media the comfortable and versatile form factor make this is a very good choice at such a low price point.

    No SD card reader!

Be warned: this nice looking tablet has no SD card reader. Didn't even get it completely out of the box before I realized this and had to take it back. If you don't need a SD card reader (this tablet comes with a lowly 8GB,) then you probably will really like this tablet. I certainly liked it a lot until I discovered that. The thing that really drew my attention to this tablet was the ability to rotate the camera, and the "kickstand" to lift the back edge of the tablet off the surface. Just wish it had a SD card slot.

I bought this product as a gift for my wife for Christmas and she loves it. Everything works as it should only bad part are the speakers aren't as powerful as I thought but hey its a tablet. The built in stand comes in handy. also I like how you can adjust the camera from front to back. The battery life is also really good.

This was purchased for a 6 yr old who frequently forgets to plug in the device. The battery life is amazing, easily lasting a couple of days of heavy use. It is easy for him to hold, he uses the multi-stand modes and we hang it for a clock on his wall at night. Overall, I would recommend this tablet.

My boyfriend bought this for me as a gift for Christmas. I love it very much. Amazing battery, great picture, pretty decent camera- especially since you can rotate it. AMAZING sound for such small speakers. Switching to this from an IPod touch 5th gen was a great choice.

Purchased because it was just the right size and promised ease of use, being an Android device. Best part of the purchase was the small price, which was the main reason I took a second look. To my great surprise, was the sound that comes from the front facing speakers. These are better than most tablets that cost much more, Display is bright and easy to see in any light. Only complaint is that I can not find a protective cover for it. Appears that Best Buy does not have them in stock and according to the staff, will not carry them.

The design of the tablet itself is a major driver for me to buy this. They pretty much thought about all possible usage factors. The screen quality could have been better, still the best we can get in the price range. The screen is bit narrower and longer than other similar sized tablets (in portrait mode). As a result the movie experience is good by eliminating lot of black area at top and bottom in landscape mode. But the regular tablet usage in landscape mode is bit inconvenient as the screen is too short in this mode.

I really enjoyed the design on this tablet..the front facing speakers were the loudest I've heard on any tablet. The kick stand was pretty cool but the screen resolution kinda lack but its not why I returned it.. The tablet was pretty slow compared to other similar priced tablets.. I almost kept it but it just wasn't fast enough.. So returned it for the Asus zen tablet which I returned again for the Samsung Galaxy s2 tablet..
